Chapter 3

Thor, Loki, Bruce, and Brunnhilde woke up early the next day. Bruce had been informed on what the game plan was and had scheduled a private meeting with Fury, who was a lot less happy about Thor's return than the rest of team.

The two brothers had argued for a solid half hour about hair gel.

"If I don't gel my hair, then I'm going to look horrible! This will be even more humiliating than it already is!"

He stood in front of the sink in the bathroom of the warehouse, gel bottle in hand.

Thor glared at him and tried to rip the bottle out of his grasp.

"Oh really? Do most prisoners of the throne frequently gel their hair?"

Loki sent him a glare and pulled the gel out of his reach.

"Well I'm not just any prisoner of the throne! I'm gelling my hair whether you like it or not!"

The arguing continued as they went back and forth, Thor trying desperately to convince him that it wouldn't help their cause.

"It's going to look to suspicious!"

Loki shoved the bottle in his face.

"It's hair gel! How in the nine realms does hair gel make me look suspicious?!"

Thor's face grew red.

"I don't know! It makes you seem like you don't play the part well enough!"

Loki hid the gel behind his back.

"That's stupid!"

Thor reached for the gel.

"You're stupid!"

Loki gave gave him a strange look.

"By the Norns, Thor! Can you at least try to make better insults?!"

Giving up on the argument, the older Asgardian moved to a different tactic.

"Surrender the hair gel!"

Loki shook his head back and forth rapidly.

"Never!"

Brunnhilde walked into the room to see what all the shouting was about and was just in time to see Thor tackle his brother to the ground, fighting for the bottle.

"Give. It. To. Me. Now!" He yelled in between attempts to win the gel over.

After five minutes of struggling, Thor emerged victorious, hair gel in hand.

Loki stood up, looked in the mirror, and screamed, causing Brunnhilde to laugh so hard that tears formed in her eyes.

"You look worse than you did before we fought those Dark Elves!"

Loki turned around and kicked Thor in the shin, making his knees buckle.

"I'm going to kill you!!!" He screeched.

His hair stuck out in multiple places and frizzed from the roots to the tips. It had gotten tangled in the battle for the gel, making him look like he'd just had a failed attempt with using a blow dryer.

Bruce walked in a few seconds later, stifling his laughter with his hand as he saw Thor on the ground clutching his shin and a feral looking Loki looming over him with the messiest hair he'd ever seen.

"You guys, if we don't leave now, we're going to be late, and if there's one thing Fury can't stand, it's tardiness."

Thor stood up after Loki refused to offer him his hand.

"At least let me brush it out before we go!" The trickster whined.

Brunnhilde grabbed him by the arm and dragged him out, stealing the hair gel from Thor and tossing it over her shoulder.

"We need Fury on our side. If we're late, we will start off on the wrong foot, which won't help us make it out of this successfully."

All four of them headed off, leaving Korg and Heimdall in charge of watching over the Asgardians while they were away.

About a block from SHIELD HQ, Thor stopped walking and turned to face his brother.

"Do you want to put these on yourself?" He questioned, dangling the pair of Asgardian designed handcuffs in front of him.

Loki ripped the cuffs out of Thor's grasp and snapped one on each of his wrists with disgust plastered on his face.

"I look ridiculous."

Brunnhilde pulled him closer to her and planted a kiss on his cheek.

"Shut up and put on the best acting job of your life, jotun."

Loki paled at the sound of the name.

He glared daggers at Thor.

"You told her?!" He seethed.

The blonde shrugged.

"I didn't see any harm in it."

Loki started walking forward, never letting his brother leave his sight.

"We will have a nice conversation about that later."

Bruce started leading the way, trying to hide his fear that they would be exposed.

"That's assuming that there's going to be a later for you, Loki."

The god of mischief tried not to look angry as he stared at the man in front of him with contempt.

"I thank you for your optimistic attitude, Bruce."

The scientist shook his head, sparing a glance at the god behind him.

"Uh uh. We aren't there yet. You can call me Banner or Doctor, either one works."

Loki sighed.

"Fine, Banner."

Satisfied, Bruce ceased from talking until they reached HQ.

Loki fidgeted with his hands nervously, the same way his mother used to.

"Alright. No matter what happens in there, you guys have to stick to the plan. We tell Fury our sob story about how the Asgardians need a new home after their last one was destroyed, and that since technically Loki is of Asgard, he got dragged along. It should work out fine."

Loki rolled his eyes at the doctor.

"Remind me why, exactly, it was necessary for me to come along if all you're doing is making an excuse for me to be here?"

Bruce gave him a look that was almost close to sympathy.

"If we could do it any other way, then we could, but Fury will want to make sure that you aren't free to roam around the city as you please. If we play it this way and give Fury undeniable proof, then there's no room for debate."

The youngest son of Odin nodded his head slowly, still not liking the plan at all.

"Ready?" Brunnhilde asked.

"Let's go." Thor said, placing his hand on his brother's back to give off the impression that Loki was not in control of the situation.

Loki sighed as they stepped towards the doors.

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?"
