“Damn it, move it or else—“
“Or else, what? You’ll kill me with that gun?” The man smirks and runs a sensuous tongue across the neck of the body in front of him.
A sharp intake of breath and a shudder of the body answer the question. “We don’t have time for this Sungmin, so let go and move!”
“That’s the problem with men in uniform,” the man named Sungmin tsks. “You guys think just because you’re wearing the badge, you have authority over everyone.” He chuckles and tightens his grip on the hips while pressing the body closer to the wall. “Well Kyuhyun, let me show you who you can’t control.”
“Shut up and--” Suddenly, Kyuhyun’s words are cut off as his head is forcefully turned and soft lips clashing against his own. Tongues fight for dominance. While still trapped between the cool wall and warm body of Sungmin, Kyuhyun is turned around and stripped of his shirt – the black shirt fluttering down to his feet.
Sungmin gives him a dark look, making Kyuhyun’s body shudder in want from the smoldering gaze. The man smirks and runs a tongue across his bottom lip. “You’re so cute, you know that? Mister Detective.” Languidly running a hand up from Kyuhyun’s hips to his chest, Sungmin also leans to trail his tongue from the shoulder to the jaw – his knee pushing Kyuhyun’s lean legs apart and pressing against the crotch.
“I told you,” Kyuhyun gasps, eyes screwed shut and trying to avoid being aroused – which was next to impossible, “We don’t have time. They’ll be here looking, I already sent the call.”
“Hmm,” Sungmin hums, his hand sliding down to tease with the belt of Kyuhyun’s pants. With the sweetest, most angelic smile Kyuhyun has ever seen, Sungmin goes on his knees. “Then I guess we’ll have to be quick.”
“Seeing as how you’re here before me, I’m guessing you escaped pretty quickly without being caught.” Kyuhyun mutters, flicking on the lights of his apartment. He lets out a small breath when Sungmin greets him with a smirk, sitting so comfortably on the leather couch.
“I didn’t exactly feel like waiting around for your men to disappear,” Sungmin says, uncrossing his legs. “I’m not a professional in my field for nothing.”
Kyuhyun frowns and walks into the kitchen. “And you call what you’re doing a job?”
“To some, sure it’s looked down on, but to people like us, it’s an art.” Sungmin says. Kyuhyun walks back into the room with a frown.
“And who is this, us?” He says, standing in front of Sungmin with crossed arms.
Spreading his legs apart and unzipping his jacket – revealing the flawless skin that even porcelain dolls would envy – Sungmin tilts his head back, eyes half hooded, and runs a hand down his thigh. “You, me, and all those amateurs out there.” He answers breathlessly, groaning as his fingers tip-toe over his crotch.
“And why would I be in the same rank as you?” Kyuhyun retorts, stepping closer to allow Sungmin wrap his legs around his waist. Pulled forward, he lands with his hands on either side of the males head.
“Seeing as how you allow me access to everything, and off the hook with anything,” Sungmin chuckles, draping his arms around Kyuhyun’s neck, “I was under the impression you were on my side.”
Kyuhyun snorts, “You’re a criminal, I’m the law,” he stares into Sungmin’s piercing eyes, the dark orbs filled with nothingness, “The only side I’m on is the other side of the bars.”
“Hmm,” Sungmin hums, nuzzling Kyuhyun’s neck. “Then does that mean you’ll punish me?” He smirks, his lips hovering over Kyuhyun’s, “Mister Detective.”
Not waiting for a reply, Sungmin captures Kyuhyun’s lips, their tongues dancing sensually. Kyuhyun’s arms end up wrapped around Sungmin’s body, pressing the other closer to him as their lips are still connected. As a hand slides down Sungmin’s back, Kyuhyun gasps and pulls away – catching his breath and narrowing his eyes.
“Since when did you carry a weapon on your back?” Kyuhyun mutters, pulling out the handgun from its hiding place. Sungmin looks at it and shrugs, “It won’t go anywhere else comfortably.”
Shaking his head, Kyuhyun places it behind him on the coffee table. “You’re not a gun person anyways,” he mumbles, pulling Sungmin’s head back roughly and crushing their lips together again.
“You know me too well.” Sungmin chuckles, pushing Kyuhyun back on couch. He hovers over the man before pressing himself fully on top of him. “You get aroused so easily,” Sungmin whispers, a hand sliding down between their bodies.
Kyuhyun grunts, “Shut up and work.”
Sungmin laughs. “In other words, be quiet and tell me what you know, right?” His eyes flash with danger as he leans forward. “Then I’ll take what I want first, like usual.”
“Alright then, with this new information, we’ll go into groups and spread out around areas B10 and B14. That is all.”
Taking off his glasses, Kyuhyun sits in his chair as everyone files out of the meeting room. The team leader walks over and places a hand on his shoulder.
“Good thing for us you have connections to your friends, Kyuhyun.” The man says, smiling proudly. “At first, I was a bit uneasy about where you were getting this information, but it has proved us a great help. We’ll get those thugs this time, you did a good job.”
Nodding, Kyuhyun smiles weakly and sighs when he is alone. “Good job huh?” His thoughts wander off to last night and his hand rolls into a fist as he lets out a hiss of frustration.
“It’s been two year’s already…” he mumbles.
“First time on the field, don’t piss yourself newbie.”
Kyuhyun sneers and doesn’t reply as the higher ranks move in closer to the building. “Don’t piss yourself,” Kyuhyun mocks, rolling his eyes. “I’ll show you…” Following his team leader, he also moves in on the building.
..
…
“Everyone out! The entire backend has collapsed!”
Hearing the call, Kyuhyun tries to maneuver out to safety, but too suddenly a portion of the building roof crumbles from the impact before. Had he been a second too fast, he would’ve been crushed.
“Damn it, I’m stuck.” Kyuhyun mutters, his only direct path blocked. He could hear the echoes of the guns and shouting in the distance, and grits his teeth.
“My, my, am I stuck in here with you?” Came a voice behind him. Spinning around and whipping out his gun, Kyuhyun stares into fearless eyes.
“Don’t move, or I’ll shoot.” Kyuhyun threatens, tightening his grip on the gun as it visibly shakes.
The other noticing, he smirks and leans against the wall behind him. “Cute,” is the only thing he says.
..
…
“What do you want from me?” Kyuhyun whispers, suppressing a groan.
Sungmin hums and slowly undoes Kyuhyun’s belt. “If you let me have my way, I’ll give you all the information you want about Toxic.”
“You want me to sell my body for false information? Yeah right.” Kyuhyun spits, struggling in Sungmin’s harsh grip.
“More like an exchange – a bargain.” Sungmin says, smiling.
“And how would I know if you’re telling the truth?” Kyuhyun pauses, eyes narrowing.
Sungmin leans close, pushing Kyuhyun against the wall. Taking out a gun, he places it in Kyuhyun’s hand – pointing it at himself. “If you think I’ll lie and give you wrong information, shoot me right now.” Sungmin says, dead serious and locking the gun right above his heart.
“What the hell are you doing?” Kyuhyun whispers, eyes wide and hand shaking from shock, he stares at the gun pointing at the male before him.
Sungmin tilts Kyuhyun’s head up and looks into the wide orbs, his own eyes grave and solemn. “Kill me, I am your enemy aren’t I? I’m a member of Toxic, so you should do your job and shoot me.”
Kyuhyun gulps and stares into those deep orbs, his mind and heart wavering. Should he risk it and take this man’s words? Or should he just kill him now…
..
…
“Why exactly are you selling out your own group?” Kyuhyun says, bare chest rising with each heavy breath. “For the past year you’ve been doing this, but why?” He looks to the naked body next to him.
Sungmin shrugs and looks away, “Don’t know…” Silence fills the room before Sungmin turns to face Kyuhyun. “They’d probably kill me if they knew though,” he says, smiling carelessly.
Kyuhyun shakes his head. “You don’t worry about anything, do you?”
Chuckling, Sungmin flings a leg over Kyuhyun’s and languidly crawls on top of the other male. “Do I look like I don’t?” For a moment, Kyuhyun swore he saw something in the man’s lifeless eyes.
“Am I wrong?” Kyuhyun says, gasping when Sungmin’s moves his hips.
Having a momentarily pause, as if fighting his inner self, Sungmin shakes his head and smirks. “Never mind,” and leans forward for a kiss.
..
…
“Ah, you were so close this time.” Sungmin says, walking over to clasp Kyuhyun’s shoulder – the uninjured one.
Kyuhyun sighs and looks at the ceiling. “Why are you here…”
Sungmin pretends to be hurt, “And I was actually worried for you, I’m hurt Mr. Detective.”
Rolling his eyes, Kyuhyun sits back comfortably in the hospital bed. “Say what you need to, and get out.”
“Somebody is cranky,” Sungmin says, chuckling. He sits at the foot of the bed. “But really, why didn’t you take the chance? You could’ve gotten them and,” he points to the arm, “avoided an injury.”
Kyuhyun would be tortured first, and still wouldn’t say, that if he took that chance to bring down Toxic’s head leader… Sungmin probably would’ve been killed with the bullet that Kyuhyun had caught instead. The other, of course, doesn’t know the truth.
“I wouldn’t have done it fast enough anyways, its better this way.” Kyuhyun retorts, scowling.
“Yeah, half the members are killed or captured, headquarters is destroyed, and all the illegal merchandise is in custody.” Sungmin ticks off, “good, but could’ve been better.”
Kyuhyun narrows his eyes and shakes his head. “Why are you doing this?” He whispers, confused. “Why do you risk your life like this and help your enemy? Hasn’t the thought of me throwing you away, and behind bars, hit you?”
Sungmin stays silent and looks around the room. “If that’s my punishment, then I’ll gladly take it.” He says, grinning.
The loneliness and pain behind that grin was so visible, Kyuhyun couldn’t help but to feel sympathy.
..
…
“So this is where you’ve been for the past month…” Kyuhyun whispers, his hand holding the gun dropping to his side as he stares at the motionless form of Sungmin before him.
The cries of the guns and screams of people echo throughout the building as the enforcers of the law, and the members of the infamous underground group Toxic, go head to head.
Kneeling, Kyuhyun unties Sungmin’s bound arms and legs and tilts the man’s face towards him. He gasps and lets out a hissing breath as Sungmin’s dark eyes look into his – nothing was there, not even the sense of life. Bruises and cuts mar the porcelain skin that Kyuhyun admires secretly as blood stains the clothes he is wearing. “What happened to you?” he says, scanning Sungmin’s body completely and concluding that the man had one hell of a beating. He was surprised that Sungmin was still breathing…
“Come on, you’re coming with me.” Kyuhyun mutters, putting Sungmin on his back and carrying him out piggy-back style.
He sneaks around corners and stays close to the shadows, the fighting down below show no end. Just as he reaches the stairs, a bullet sails past his head. But before he can say, or do, anything, a gun goes off again.
“Sungmin..?” Kyuhyun whispers, peeking over his shoulder to see Sungmin holding a gun, his gun to be precise, and pointed behind them. He looks further back to see a body lying in its own pool of blood.
“I never liked him anyways,” Sungmin mutters, voice hoarse and strained. Coughing, he squirms to be let down and looks up into Kyuhyun’s face. “Why are you carrying me?” Sungmin demands, eyes narrowed, “You’ll be killed, idiot.”
Kyuhyun doesn’t listen and stares with sad eyes at the beaten male before him. He reaches out and caresses Sungmin’s cheek, his feeling of affection pouring out of him and into that single touch.
Voice caught in his throat, Sungmin’s eyes widen as his body quavers, in surprise and understanding. Just as he is about to speak, voices call for Kyuhyun behind them. Swearing, Sungmin swiftly turns and grabs Kyuhyun to put him in front of him. Pointing the gun at Kyuhyun’s head, Sungmin glares at Kyuhyun’s comrades coming their way.
“Move and I’ll shoot him!” Sungmin shouts, his voice cracking slightly.
Kyuhyun’s eyes widen. “What are you doing?” He hisses under his breath.
“Saving your ass,” Sungmin mutters, slowly moving down the stairs while keeping a steady glare at the police men. “When we get to the door, fight against my grip and run out the backdoor. You should make it out without being caught.”
“Stopping fucking with me Sungmin and let me go!” Kyuhyun growls, trying to pry Sungmin’s arm off of him in vain.
Sungmin smirks. “That’s the way. Keep doing it, it makes it look more real.”
Kyuhyun narrows his eyes, “Why the hell are you saving me?” he whispers. They reach the bottom of the stairs; the bullets of the fighting were flying all around them.
“Sungmin, answer me!” Kyuhyun says, “Why are you doing all thi--”
“LEE SUNGMIN!” A burly man from their right come charging towards them, eyes with the intent to kill. “Why the hell are you---, you shouldn’t be able to move.” The man hisses, eyes narrowing.
Eyes widening, Kyuhyun squirms for his spare gun on his belt. The leader, the man behind all this, was standing right in front of him.
“In five seconds, I’m going to push you away – you better run Cho Kyuhyun.” Sungmin mutters, eyes trained on the man ahead.
Before he could do anything, Kyuhyun was pushed roughly against a door as a bullet whizzes by. The next thing he sees is the burly man falling backwards as a bullet hits him, and Sungmin firmly standing with the intent to kill in his eyes.
But the next thing he sees is Sungmin falling forward with blooding pooling at his feet.
“He probably had a sense of guilt.”
Kyuhyun raises an eyebrow, “guilt?”
Kyuhyun’s friend, and colleague who had been there during the ambush, nods his head. “Why else would he do it? He probably felt the guilt of the years of being in that group and doing wrong. So when he came across you, he wanted to try and get into the light and decided to help.”
Nodding his head, Kyuhyun lies down and stares up at the cloudless sky, it has been a year since Toxic has been brought down and its members captured. Not too many things changed for the people around him, but for Kyuhyun, his world has turned upside-down.
“Or it could be that he had feelings for you, but that couldn’t happen.” His friend says, laughing. But it made Kyuhyun freeze and stare blankly at the sky.
“What if…” he starts, mindlessly, “What if he… and I...”
His friend turns to look at him, urging him on. But instead, Kyuhyun shakes his head, “Never mind.” After moments of silence, the afternoon rays of the sun warming them up, Kyuhyun suddenly gets up. “I have to go somewhere, I’ll see you later.”
“Where are you going?”
Kyuhyun doesn’t turn around but answers, “to visit someone.”
“How long are you going to be like this Sungmin?” Kyuhyun sighs, running and hand through his hair. “I have so many questions, just itching to be asked. But what’s the point of asking when I won’t get a real answer?”
The man lying in front of him stays immobile, the beeping of the heart monitor resounding through the small room.
Kyuhyun lets out a small smile. “You know, we had a weird relationship, don’t you think? I’m pretty sure nobody else on this earth would have it the same as us.” He carefully grasps Sungmin’s hand and kisses the finger tips.
“Hurry up and open your eyes, I haven’t had the chance to ask you anything…” Kyuhyun mumbles, staring at Sungmin’s sleeping face – a picture of innocence in contrast to his harsh life.
