The Christmas Present
The Christmas Present
The world, diffused and suffocated in its own preoccupations
gave barely a glance or a whisper of care at the lowly pair
Trudging slowly, carefully with precious cargo aboard
The Savior of the world, wrapped in unborn human form
But there were a few who recognized
Prophecies, written long ago, coming to life
Wise and learned men who traveled far
Mixed in the company
of humble tenders of hillside flock
whom angels sent
all to find the babe, resting beneath
His Heavenly star
God gave all, His precious Son
A Christmas present
for our future
Be careful about judging a gift by its exterior wrapping. Our greatest gift came in a small out of the way town, behind a small inn, among the farm animals and hay.
Thank you Father for sending Your only Son. Jesus. Just for us.
