Part 2: Special(ly Unexpected) Message
Unikitty and Richard headed out to the water wheels. They got some oil cans, filled them up, and started lubing up the water wheels until they were all spinning smoother than a fresh CD. Next, they went over to Flowery Park, and Unikitty got a whole bunch of clouds bunched up together to make a large raincloud, which she then used to water all of the flowers. Once they got done with that, they flew up into outer space (in Dr. Fox's rocket ship) with the shooting stars and loaded the stars into Dr. Fox's Star Cannons. Next was repairing the water fountain in the park. Ellie was more than happy to lend a trunk with that. The next chore was cleaning out the moat. Hawkodile was a really big help due to being a strong and natural-born swimmer. After that, they had to sweep the chimney. Puppycorn, who was not at all afraid of getting dirty, was ready and willing to brush out the "chimney dust."
Quite a few hours came and went, and finally, as the sun was preparing to set on that beautiful day, Unikitty triumphantly exclaimed:
Unikitty: Compleeeette~! Finally, after all that hard work, we've finally cleared the entire to-do list!!
Richard: We sure did, Princess.
Dr. Fox: (puts her stubby little hands in the air) Huzzah!
Hawkodile: (does a fist pump/arm flex as a hawk screech is heard) Awesome! (kisses the muscle bulge)
Ellie: Yay!
Unikitty: Guys, Rick and I couldn't have gotten this done without all of you helping out. With Puppycorn's spirit...
Puppycorn: I'm a little helper!
Richard: Yes you are.
Unikitty: ... Dr. Fox's super-smartiness...
Dr. Fox gave a cute yet confident little smile.
Unikitty: ... Hawkodile's strength...
Hawkodile proudly flexed his other arm.
Unikitty: ... And Ellie also doing things...
Ellie blushed and giggled.
Unikitty: ... We've managed to complete this whole list that's even longer than Puppycorn's all-time tail-chasing record!
Puppycorn is running around in circles after his tail.
Puppycorn: I'm gonna get you one of these days, tail!
Hawkodile: Yeah, slugger. You keep tellin' yourself that. (a little chuckling)
Unikitty: Teamwork Friendship Group Hug!
(Ellie's hiding behind all the others because she's very camera shy)
Unikitty turned towards Rick and said:
Unikitty: Soooo Rick, now that all the chores are done...
Richard, being the smart and intuitive brick he was, immediately knew what Unikitty clearly hadn't forgotten their little deal and said to the whole group:
Richard: I think we've all earned some ice cream.
Hearing this, Unikitty, Puppycorn, Dr. Fox, and Hawkodile all excitedly exclaimed with starry eyes:
All (except Richard and Ellie): Whoo-hooo!!
Ellie: Um, shouldn't we have dinner first?
For a little bit, the rest of the gang just looked at Ellie as if she'd just said "I smell like a baby dolphin covered in peanut butter," and then they all started laughing.
Ellie: Hmm?
With that, as the sun had finally set to make way for nighttime, they started heading over to the ice cream shop until, just as they were coming around a corner...
WHOOSH!
The gang turned around to see where that sound came from. Two large and sharp arrows were flying right towards Unikitty and Puppycorn! No signs of losing momentum for either one! The two royal siblings quickly saw this, and Unikitty turned completely white from shock!
Unikitty and Puppycorn: Aaaahhhh!!
Both of them hastily tried to scurry out of the way of the arrows. However, this was to no avail. The fletchlings of both arrows flashed red and shifted in direction, aiming for the two siblings once again!
Unikitty and Puppycorn: OH NOO!!
Seeing this, Hawkodile and Ellie both swiftly took action, jumping out and catching the arrows right before either one could hit Unikitty or Puppycorn's faces. However, the ways in which they landed differed greatly: Hawkodile ended with a combat roll and shooting back up smoothly and gracefully, while Ellie wound up falling on top of Puppycorn and accidentally breaking her arrow.
Ellie: Sorry about that, Pup-Pup!
Puppycorn: That's okay! That felt a lot like a tackle hug! (laughing)
Ellie: (giggling) I guess it kind of was!
Richard then started to help the two kids up as Hawkodile dropped his caught arrow to the ground and went to checked on Unikitty.
Hawkodile: (dusting Unikitty off a bit) Princess, are you alright?
Unikitty was initially unable to answer, as she was still in awe of Hawkodile's heroic stunt. However, she quickly snapped out of it once she felt Hawkodile's hand brushing lightly at her cute little face. Upon returning to her senses, the little pink kitty princess shook her head a little and looked right at her bodyguard's handsome face that was currently conveying some concern. Unikitty soon calmed down and replied:
Unikitty: Well, I am now. Thanks, Hawkodile.
Hawkodile's look of worry quickly changed to one of calmness and some slight warmth, as he tousled up her fur a little and responded:
Hawkodile: Just doing my job as your bodyguard, Princess.
Meanwhile, Dr. Fox walked over to the dropped arrow, picked it up (it was a little heavy), and saw a piece of paper tied to the shaft.
Dr. Fox: Hey, there's some paper attached to this arrow!
Ellie glanced down and saw an identical (if somewhat crumpled) piece of paper among the remains of the broken arrow. Trying to be as careful with it as possible, she picked it up, brought it over to Dr. Fox, and added:
Ellie: Here's another one!
All of the others now had piqued curiosity, so they all went over to the two girls.
Puppycorn: Wow! Really?
Richard: What do you suppose those papers are from?
Hawkodile: Maybe they're two missing pages from the long-lost journal of a deceased adventurer.
Unikitty: Or maybe somebody sent them to us so we could make paper airplanes!
Stirring with inquisitiveness, Dr. Fox carefully started untying the first paper from the whole (and kinda heavy) arrow. Ellie, on the other hand, approached Richard and gave him the other paper, which he unfolded.
Richard: It's too dark here. We should read these under some light.
He and Dr. Fox turned to see a street light just a few feet away along the almost completely darkened street. They started walking up to it, and its bright yellow light shone down on both of the papers.
Dr. Fox: This is a letter for Unikitty.
Richard: This one's for Puppycorn.
Unikitty and Puppycorn: Ooooohhh!!
Ellie: Who sent it?
Dr. Fox: It says that it's from Queen Carnelia of Elegancia.
Richard: They say, "Dear Princess Unikitty and Prince Puppycorn..."
Puppycorn: That's me!
Richard: "...I, Queen Carnelia, hereby cordially invite both of you to Elegancia for the Annual ReGala. I'd also like to have a little talk with the princess regarding our two kingdoms. I look forward to seeing both of you there." There's also a "Plus One" for each of the invitations.
Both Unikitty and Puppycorn gasp.
