Chapter 39: B&R, Dumbassness, and the Beach
Later that evening at the hotel restaurant—that is thankfully an open bar—the now large group was at.
Normally, Anthony, David, Mari, Igor, Shino, Jie, Kang, Felix, Dae, and Michael will dress in formal attire but it wasn't that of restaurant as they dressed casual. Plus they sat at the open bar with Winter, Clover, Harriet, Marrow, Elm, and Vine.
Behind them sitting at a long table sat Teams RWBY, JNPR, CFVY, and SSSN.
And Chris and Cinder were still in their room and having their dinner sent there. Anthony was glad that he told the hotel staff to keep an eye on Cinder.
Sure she was lobotomized, but he didn't want to try it. And neither did the mafia. He also noticed a few local SWAT police/USMC Recon/Spetsnaz GRU sniper teams on either the rooftops or hotel balconies. All aiming/watching Cinder.
"You also noticed the spies too?" Jie whispered to Anthony as he shook his head, "Seems China is also keeping a close eye on Fall. Probably CIA and FSB too." Jie said as she saw an Chinese 'couple' sitting by a bench 'watching' the sun and taking 'pictures' of themselves and the hotel.
"Hi there!" The waitress said to the marines and Atlas soldiers, "Sorry for the long wait. I'm Ashley and welcome to Big Palms Bar and Restaurant! Why don't we start off with some drinks." She cheerfully said as she pulled up a tablet.
Anthony, David, Mari, Igor, Shino, Jie, Kang, Felix, Dae, Michael, Winter, Clover, Harriet, Marrow, Elm, and Vine looked at the menu in deep thought. From beers to cocktails, wines to whiskey, and Vodka to Floridaman—wait, Floridaman?
"Excuse my language, but what the hell is 'Floridaman'?" Elm asked as she pointed at the drink on the menu.
Anthony glanced at the menu with a raised eyebrow, not sure whether to laugh or be concerned. "Floridaman?" he echoed, leaning over to get a closer look. "What kind of disaster in a glass could that possibly be?"
Jie chuckled, glancing between her comrades. "I'm almost afraid to ask. It sounds like the kind of drink that comes with a legal disclaimer."
The waitress, Ashley, grinned knowingly. "Oh, it's a special, alright. One part rum, one part tequila, a dash of absinthe, and topped off with a Red Bull and a secret ingredient we like to keep quiet about. It's for those who want a wild ride—and probably want to forget half of it the next day."
David whistled low. "That sounds like a 'hold my beer and watch this' drink." He tilted his head toward Anthony. "What do you think? You up for a Floridaman tonight?"
Anthony leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms as he considered it. "I'm not sure if I'm in the mood to wake up in the Everglades or wrestling a gator."
"You wouldn't be the first!" Ashley laughed. "But we do have tamer options. It's mostly ordered by tourists who want to say they survived it."
"I bet Chris would try it," Felix said with a smirk, earning chuckles from the group. "He seems like the type who'd give it a shot."
"Chris might end up waking up in the Everglades with the gator," David quipped, shaking his head. "But if Cinder's with him, I'm sure she'd fry it before it could do any damage."
Jie shook her head, glancing toward the spies she'd spotted earlier. "With the amount of surveillance on us right now, I doubt any of us should risk a drink like that. Last thing we need is to have someone in a compromised state."
Winter nodded in agreement. "Especially with Fall here. Every agency in the world seems to be on edge. One of us stumbles out of here drunk, and there's a good chance we'd be 'escorted' back to our rooms—if we're lucky."
"Fair enough," Anthony said with a grin, closing the menu. "I'll pass on the Floridaman. I'll stick with something that won't land me on a watchlist." He looked up at Ashley. "I'll have a bourbon, neat."
David chuckled and followed suit. "Whiskey for me. Keep it simple."
As the others began placing their orders, Elm was still eyeing the Floridaman curiously. "I'm not gonna lie, part of me is tempted," she said, scratching her head.
Marrow elbowed her. "You're crazy if you even consider it. We've got a long day tomorrow, and the last thing we need is you passed out on the beach."
"Yeah, yeah." Elm sighed, finally closing her menu. "Fine, I'll play it safe. Rum and coke."
Ashley jotted down the last of the orders and winked. "Wise choice. I'll be back with your drinks in a few."
As she walked away, Anthony glanced around the room again, noting how relaxed the atmosphere seemed, despite the obvious surveillance. But he knew better than to let his guard down completely. Between Cinder's unpredictable nature and the numerous eyes on them, this was a game of patience and caution.
"You think they'll try anything tonight?" Felix asked quietly, leaning in close to Anthony.
Anthony shook his head. "No. Too many variables, too much heat on her. They're watching, sure, but no one's stupid enough to make a move with this much security."
Jie, still scanning the room, nodded. "Agreed. They're just waiting for us to slip up. We won't give them that chance."
"Besides," David chimed in, smirking, "if anything does go down, we've got enough firepower in this room to handle it."
Anthony couldn't help but laugh. "True. But let's hope it doesn't come to that. At least not tonight."
The group settled into a more relaxed conversation as their drinks arrived, though each of them knew the tension surrounding Cinder wasn't going away anytime soon. The night was just beginning, and with the eyes of the world on them, they had to be ready for anything.
"Changing the topic real quick, what was the most stupidest thing you did in life?" Clover said.
"Getting a tattoo a month ago." Harriet and Jie quietly said. Kang chuckled at Harriet and Jie's response, realizing they regretted their recent tattoo decisions.
"Well, as for me," Igor began, "I once tried to jump off a rooftop onto a trampoline when I was 14. Let's just say it didn't go as planned, and I ended up with a sprained ankle, cracked rib, and a bruised ego. Definitely not my brightest moment."
The group laughed, sharing their own stories of silly mishaps and misadventures. It was a lighthearted moment amidst everything, and they enjoyed the camaraderie and laughter that filled the room.
"I tried giving myself a haircut when I was 5." Shino said. "Let's just say my hair is still re-growing." The group burst into laughter at Shino's admission, imagining the adorable image of a 5-year-old Shino attempting to cut her own hair.
"That's priceless, Shino!" Dae exclaimed between her giggles. "I can't even imagine what you must have looked like."
"I bet you were a cute little hair stylist," David added, smiling at Shino.
She blushed, slightly embarrassed by the memory, but she joined in the laughter nonetheless. It was moments like these that made them appreciate the bonds they had formed.
"I literally ate cat food for a whole week when I was 5." Blake admitted from her table. The laughter intensified at Blake's unexpected revelation. The image of a young Blake stealthily sneaking cat food and munching on it for an entire week was too amusing for the large group and staff to handle.
"Blake, that's priceless!" Yang exclaimed, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes. "Were you trying to communicate with your feline side?"
"I don't think that's quite how it works," Mari chimed in, trying to stifle her laughter. "But I can't deny the dedication to your undercover operation as a cat."
Blake couldn't help but smile, glad that her confession had lightened the mood and brought joy to her friends. It was moments like these that made them feel closer than ever.
"I threw a old potato at a Grimm when I was 10. The Grimm was so confused of what I did it just left!" Winter said bursting into laughter.
The group erupted into laughter once again at Winter's unexpected confession. Imagining the stern, young and composed Winter throwing a old potato at a Grimm was a comical image that they couldn't resist finding hilarious.
"Oh, Winnie, that's priceless!" Harriet exclaimed, trying to catch her breath from laughing. "You showed that Grimm who's boss!"
"I never knew a potato could be such a powerful weapon," Jaune added, chuckling. "You've discovered the secret anti-Grimm technique!"
Winter joined in the laughter, unable to hold back her amusement at the memory. It was a lighthearted moment that reminded them all of the joy in sharing silly and embarrassing stories from their past.
"For me, I faced a Bear and all I had was a broomstick. So 12 year old me dodged the attack and I literally yelled out, 'Now stick this in your pipe and smoke it!!' and shoved the broomstick up the Bear's ass as it screamed like a little girl!!" Michael said as everyone including him wheeze in laughter.
Even Ashley and another waiter were on the ground crying in laughter.
The place was in stitches, unable to contain their laughter at Michael's outrageous and unexpected story. His bold and daring move against a bear had everyone picturing the hilarious scene, and the mental image was too much for them to handle.
"Mic, that's... that's amazing!" Anthony managed to say between fits of laughter. "You showed that bear who's boss in the most unconventional way possible!"
"Talk about an unexpected weapon!" Ruby added, wiping away tears of laughter. "I can't believe you actually did that!"
Even Vine, known for his composed demeanor, couldn't help but join in the laughter. It was a moment of pure joy and camaraderie as they shared their most ridiculous and amusing experiences.
"Never underestimate the power of a broomstick, apparently!" Velvet chimed in, still laughing.
The laughter echoed through the room, creating a lively and jovial atmosphere. It was moments like these that reminded them of the bonds they shared and the joy that could be found in even the most absurd situations.
"One time, I kicked someone in the ass so hard!!" Coco said while laughing, "That the shoe was shown on the X-Ray!!" Coco finally said as she fell over laughing as everyone else was laughing their brains out.
Scarlet and Neptune had to head to the bathroom saying they might pee themselves in laughter.
The laughter continued to fill the room as Coco shared her hilarious story of a particularly powerful kick. The image of a shoe imprinted on an X-Ray was too much for everyone to handle, and they couldn't help but burst into uncontrollable laughter.
"Damn, Coco, I didn't know you had such a powerful kick!" Felix exclaimed, wiping away tears of laughter. "You must have sent that person flying!"
"It's all in the technique," Coco replied, still chuckling. "But I never expected it to leave a mark on the X-Ray! Talk about a memorable kick!"
The laughter was infectious, and even those who had excused themselves to the bathroom couldn't resist joining in when they returned. The sheer absurdity of the situation and the camaraderie shared in that moment created a bond among the group that would be cherished for years to come.
As the laughter gradually subsided, everyone took a moment to catch their breath, their faces still beaming with smiles and their spirits uplifted by the joyous atmosphere.
"We've definitely had some wild experiences," Clover said, his voice filled with amusement. "And it's moments like these that make life so much more enjoyable."
Agreeing with him, the large group settled back into their seats, their hearts still light with laughter and their friendships strengthened by the shared laughter.
Just as their food came...
"When I was 5. I threw a jar of peanut butter at a Beowolf. It got it's head stuck in the jar, fell off a cliff making weird but funny noises on the way down and when it landed! It farted and a few Grimm laughed at!!!" Weiss said laughing her guts out as everyone got to wheezing and laughing again.
The entire room erupted into laughter once again as Weiss shared her hilarious encounter with a Beowolf. The image of the Grimm getting its head stuck in a jar of peanut butter, tumbling off a cliff, and even emitting a comedic fart had everyone in stitches.
"Oh my Oum above, Weiss!" Ren exclaimed, wiping tears from his eyes. "That is absolutely priceless! I can't even imagine the expression on the Grimm's face when it got stuck in the jar!"
Pyrrha giggled uncontrollably, her laughter mingling with the rest of the group. The absurdity of the situation and the unexpected outcome had everyone laughing so hard that their stomachs hurt.
"I guess the Beowolf wasn't expecting a jar of peanut butter to be its downfall!" Yatsuhashi said between fits of laughter.
"No one messes with Weiss and her peanut butter arsenal!" Nora chimed in, barely able to get the words out through her laughter.
"I can't believe a Beowolf got done in by peanut butter," Yang laughed, tears forming in the corners of her eyes. "Weiss, you might just be the deadliest person in this room with that jar!"
Weiss, cheeks flushed from both laughter and embarrassment, held up her hands. "It wasn't intentional! I was just a kid, and it was the only thing I had!"
Blake shook her head, still chuckling. "That Beowolf probably still haunts Grimm legend. 'Beware of small girls with jars of peanut butter,'" she added, causing another wave of laughter to ripple through the group.
"I can picture it now," Anthony said, composing himself after another hearty laugh, "the next time we face a horde of Grimm, just toss Weiss a jar of peanut butter, and let her do her thing!"
Weiss rolled her eyes but couldn't stop herself from giggling along with everyone else. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. Just don't expect me to save you when we run out of peanut butter."
"Just make sure the Grimm don't start craving PB&J sandwiches!" Jaune quipped, earning another round of laughter from the room.
As everyone tried to catch their breath, the food finally arrived, offering a much-needed break from the laughter. Plates of delicious meals were placed in front of them, and they eagerly dug in, still chuckling over the ridiculous stories that had filled the evening.
Michael leaned back in his chair, a grin still plastered across his face. "This is exactly what we needed. A night of pure chaos and laughter. Reminds us that despite everything, we can still enjoy ourselves."
"Agreed," Winter added, raising her glass. "To peanut butter, broomsticks, Floridaman, and the most ridiculous moments of our lives."
Everyone raised their drinks in a toast, their bond strengthened by the shared laughter and the absurdity of it all. In the midst of all the tension, danger, and uncertainty they faced on a daily basis, nights like this were a reminder that there was still joy to be found—even if it came in the form of a jar of peanut butter or a broomstick up a bear's backside.
As the night continued, the group enjoyed their meal, still exchanging stories and jokes. For this brief moment, they were able to set aside the weight of their responsibilities and simply be themselves—friends united by the absurdity of life and the laughter they shared.
The next was bright with clear skies and sun.
The men(Anthony, David, Igor, Kang, Felix, Michael, Chris, Clover, Marrow, Vine, Jaune, Ren, Fox, Yatsuhashi, Sun, Sage, Scarlet, and Neptune) set up the spot for the large group's day. 5 beach tents, a grill, 2 large umbrellas, 12 foldable beach chairs, and 4 folding tables were set up. 6 surfboards, 2 military jet skis, and a first aid kit were also set up.
Women and a few guys blushed at the sight of the 18 men's toned bodies. Some men were jealous of not having muscles like them. And a few saluted to Anthony, David, Michael, and Chris because of their USMC tattoos.
Then the women(Elm, Harriet, Winter, Blake, Velvet, Coco, Cinder, Ruby, Yang, Nora, Pyrrha, Weiss, Jie, Dae, Shino, and Mari) came wearing either bikinis, one-piece swimsuit, or two-piece swimsuits.
Shino was wearing a camo bikini.
Mari was wearing a white bikini.
Blake(black), Velvet(brown), Winter(white), Ruby(red and black), Yang(yellow), Nora(pink), Pyrrha(red and gold), and Weiss(white) wore bikinis that match their color scheme.
Elm and Harriet wore bikinis with the former looking embarrassed to be in one and the latter looking smug.
Cinder was in a red two-piece and wearing a sun hat. Her scars from her surgeries shown.
Coco was in a orange slingshot swimsuit and still wearing her signature sunglasses.
Dae was in two-piece swimsuit, white T-shirt, and a black & white baseball cap. Her long black hair was tied in a ponytail.
And Jie was wearing a one-piece swimsuit that fit her body that shown her abs and muscles.
"So what you guys think?" Yang said as she did a pose.
Anthony, David, Igor, Kang, Felix, Michael, Chris, Clover, Marrow, and Vine just did a closed eyed thumbs-up. They were adults, not teens. Plus it is hard to tell with the sunglasses and military grade sunglasses. The rest of the men were either whistling or clapping.
Author's Note: GGGGGGGYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!
As the women joined the beach scene, the energy shifted with playful laughter and friendly banter filling the air. The men continued setting up, trying to maintain their composure despite the sudden shift in scenery. A few playful whistles were heard, but most of the veterans maintained a respectful demeanor—though there were a few quiet smirks exchanged between them.
Yang, always the confident one, gave a playful twirl in her yellow bikini, hands on her hips. "C'mon, guys! Give me something!" she teased, winking at the group.
Anthony, David, and Michael gave a synchronized thumbs-up, not even bothering to open their eyes. "We approve," Anthony said coolly, maintaining his stoic marine exterior, though there was a subtle grin threatening to break through.
Sun, Sage, and Neptune were not as composed. The trio was suffering from anime-level nosebleeds, trying to play it cool but utterly failing, while Scarlet was visibly flustered, fanning himself with exaggerated motions.
Blake, ever the introvert, tried to keep her distance, feeling the eyes on her in her black bikini, but Yang wasn't letting her escape that easily. "Don't be shy, Blake! You look amazing," Yang said, dragging Blake closer to the group, causing her to blush even harder.
"Yeah, don't let them steal the spotlight," Ruby added, laughing as she playfully pushed Blake toward the guys. Blake, still blushing, gave a soft, awkward wave, her golden eyes darting away from the many glances.
Jaune, who had been struggling to keep his eyes off Pyrrha, finally spoke up. "You... you look amazing," he mumbled, his face turning the color of Pyrrha's swimsuit.
Pyrrha's smile was soft, and she gently nudged him. "You're not too bad yourself, fearless leader," she teased, her cheeks slightly pink as well.
Ren, on the other hand, was the picture of restraint. He gave Nora an appreciative nod but remained his usual composed self, although Nora, ever the energetic one, took full advantage of the moment, striking a silly pose and shouting, "I look good, and I know it!" Ren's lips twitched into a small smile at her antics, though he tried to hide it.
Team JNPR had separate rooms. Jaune and Pyrrha had one and Ren and Nora had one. The Marines made sure of that arrangement to increase the ships.
David, though normally composed, couldn't help the slight grin spreading across his face when he spotted Shino in her camo bikini. He mentally cheered, his attention fully on her for a moment before catching himself and acting cool again.
Meanwhile, Anthony couldn't help but chuckle when Jie bent over to grab her phone. The quick glance at her toned phat ass had him feeling triumphant internally, though he masked it behind his signature impassive look.
Coco, as usual, stole the show. In her signature sunglasses and bold orange slingshot swimsuit, she casually waved at the admiring glances. "Don't hate me because I'm fabulous," she declared, her confidence unmatched. Velvet, standing next to her in a more modest brown bikini, blushed furiously but couldn't help laughing at her friend's audacity.
Winter, despite her usual serious demeanor, seemed to relax under the sun. She adjusted her white bikini and looked at her sister and the others with a soft smile. Even Harriet, who was often smug and confident, had a playful side emerge as she confidently strutted beside Elm, who was red-faced and awkward in her own bikini. The contrast between the two was enough to spark more laughter from the group.
As everyone settled in, the banter continued, filled with a mix of teasing, admiration, and the occasional innocent blush. It was shaping up to be the perfect day—a mix of sun, surf, and, of course, the unforgettable chaos that came with this particular group of friends. The bonds between them, forged in both battle and camaraderie, only grew stronger with each moment of laughter and shared experiences.
Cinder, observing from the side, couldn't help but smirk. It had been a long time since she had experienced such lightheartedness, and even though she was still adjusting, the warmth of the group was starting to rub off on her. She adjusted her sun hat and decided to enjoy the day for what it was—after all, days like this didn't come often.
Anthony clapped his hands, grabbing everyone's attention. "Alright, you bunch of clowns. We didn't set this place up just to stand around and gawk. Time to fire up the grill and hit the water. Let's make this a day to remember."
The group cheered, excited to make the most of their day on the beach. The sun was shining, the waves were calling, and the day was just getting started.
