Chapter 16: Angel and Death
A week later, a CH-75E Super Stallion Mk II heavy lift helicopter is seen landing at FOB helipad.
Nearby watching the large aircraft was Anthony, David, Mari, Shino, Igor, Jie, Kang, Felix, Dae, and Michael. Along with Teams RWBY and JNPR.
"So, who do you think is in there?" Dae questioned.
Pyrrha cringed, "I hope it's not those MREs that you guys gave us three days ago..."
Jie chuckled, "Welcome to our stomachs..." She jokingly said.
"What is the exact year for you guys?" Weiss asked remembering the horrible stomachache she had later after eating the MRE.
"2070." Kang said shocking the eight teens.
"We ate 30 year old MREs?!" Ren exclaimed.
"The Air Force has the newest ones, the army has 15-20 year old ones, the navy has 5 year old ones, and us Marines get what's still available and editable." David explained. "Over time you'll might end up with an iron stomach."
"I rather not do that training..." Nora muttered.
The ramp of the helicopter was opened and walking out with a medium sized escort was the leader of the White Fang itself, Sienna Khan.
But not as a prisoner, as an ally.
Lieutenant Colonel Bauer and Ozpin walked up to meet her.
"Let's all be thankful that General Ironwood isn't here." Jaune said as everyone agreed.
As Sienna Khan stepped off the ramp, her presence immediately drew the attention of everyone gathered. Her demeanor was one of cautious confidence, aware of the significance of her arrival at the UNE's Forward Operating Base (FOB). She was flanked by a small contingent of her most trusted White Fang members, indicating her serious commitment to this new alliance.
Lieutenant Colonel Bauer and Professor Ozpin approached her, their expressions a mix of curiosity and cautious optimism. The tension in the air was palpable, as the troops and the students of Beacon watched this unexpected development unfold.
"Welcome to our FOB, Ms. Khan," Lieutenant Colonel Bauer greeted, extending a hand. "We appreciate you coming here under these circumstances."
Sienna took his hand and shook it firmly. "Thank you, Lieutenant Colonel. This is a significant step for both the White Fang and the people of Menagerie. We have a lot to discuss."
Ozpin nodded in agreement. "Indeed, we do. Let's move to the briefing room and get started. There is much to be addressed, and I believe we all share the goal of a better future for both humans and Faunus."
As the leaders moved towards the briefing room, the gathered groups couldn't help but exchange glances of surprise and curiosity. Teams RWBY and JNPR, in particular, were taken aback by the sight of Sienna Khan in a cooperative context.
Anthony broke the silence, "Well, this just got a whole lot more interesting."
Yang nodded, her eyes still wide with surprise. "No kidding. Never thought I'd see the day where the White Fang's leader would be working with us."
Blake, who had been quiet up to this point, finally spoke up, her voice tinged with cautious hope. "This could be the start of something really important. If we can actually work together, maybe we can make a real difference."
Shino, always pragmatic, added, "We'll have to wait and see. Alliances like this can be tricky, but if it works, it'll be a game-changer."
As the discussions began inside the FOB, the atmosphere outside was a mix of guarded optimism and apprehension. The Marines, Beacon students, and White Fang members all knew that the path ahead would be challenging. However, the potential for real change and cooperation offered a glimmer of hope that was hard to ignore.
The sight of Sienna Khan walking into the briefing room as an ally marked a turning point. It was a symbol of the possibility of unity in the face of a common threat. The future was uncertain, but for the first time in a long while, there was a shared sense of purpose among the diverse group assembled at the FOB.
Inside the briefing room, Lieutenant Colonel Bauer, Professor Ozpin, Sienna Khan, and her trusted White Fang members gathered around a large table. The room was equipped with advanced holographic displays and other high-tech equipment, emphasizing the importance of the meeting.
Lieutenant Colonel Bauer began the discussion, his tone measured and authoritative. "Ms. Khan, we appreciate you taking this step towards cooperation. We understand this was not an easy decision."
Sienna nodded, her expression serious. "The White Fang has always sought justice for the Faunus, but our methods have become a point of contention. It's clear that we need a new path forward, one that doesn't involve violence and division. That's why I'm here."
Ozpin interjected, his voice calm and thoughtful. "Ms. Khan, your presence here signifies a willingness to change, but we must address the elephant in the room: Adam Taurus. His actions have been a major source of conflict and violence. We need to know where you stand regarding his role in the White Fang."
Sienna's eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of frustration crossing her features. "Adam has always been... passionate about our cause. But his methods have become increasingly extreme, and his personal vendetta against humanity has clouded his judgment. He's no longer acting in the best interests of the White Fang or the Faunus people."
One of Sienna's trusted members, a tall and stoic Faunus named Den, spoke up. "We've received reports of Adam's recent activities. He's been gathering a faction of extremists within the White Fang who are loyal to him alone. They are planning something significant, and it poses a danger to both humans and Faunus alike."
Lieutenant Colonel Bauer leaned forward, his expression serious. "Do you have any intel on what Adam is planning?"
Sienna nodded. "We have some information, but it's incomplete. He's been working with various criminal elements, acquiring weapons and resources. His ultimate goal seems to be an attack that will destabilize the already fragile peace between humans and Faunus. We need to stop him before he can execute his plan."
Ozpin steepled his fingers, his gaze intense. "We need to act quickly and decisively. Ms. Khan, with your cooperation, we can coordinate a joint operation to neutralize Adam and his faction. But we'll need to work together closely to ensure the safety of everyone involved."
Sienna took a deep breath, then nodded firmly. "Agreed. The White Fang was never meant to be a terrorist organization. It's time to reclaim our original mission and work towards true equality and justice. I'll provide whatever support and intel we can to help bring Adam to justice."
Lieutenant Colonel Bauer stood up, extending a hand to Sienna. "Then let's get started. We'll coordinate with your team to plan the operation. Time is of the essence."
As they began to outline the details of their plan, the atmosphere in the room was one of determination and resolve. The cooperation between the UNE, Beacon, and the White Fang represented a significant step towards a more unified and peaceful future. They knew the road ahead would be challenging, but with their combined efforts, there was a real chance to thwart Adam's plans and create lasting change.
Suddenly, a German Marine enters the with a look, "Sir, der Engel des Gerichts ist hier ... (Sir, the Angel of Judgment is here...)"
Professor Ozpin, Sienna Khan, and the White Fang members didn't understand what the PFC said but they understood the reaction when Lieutenant Colonel Bauer sighed and got up heading to the helipad. The rest followed the two Germans out of curiosity.
At the helipad, a blacked out VTOL opens the ramp for one of the most notorious, most dangerous, and most brutal interrogator/assassin in the UNE government.
A man with very short dark brown hair, tall height, slightly muscular, heterochromia eyes, crazed smile, black suit, black gloves, scars across his face, a scar across his mouth, and a scar on his neck.
His name is classified, but his title name is "Angel of Judgment".
He was going to interrogate Kyros who is in a stockade on the base.
As he walked out, many of the Marines as usual felt uneasy when he's around.
Teams RWBY and JNPR were also feeling that unease despite that this their first time seeing him.
Blake and Ruby began hiding behind Anthony and Jie when they saw the man approach the ten marines and eight teens.
"Why~ Hello there~" He greeted. His voice sounded as if he was interrogating them in a dark and wet room.
The presence of the "Angel of Judgment" sent a palpable wave of discomfort through the gathered crowd. The notorious interrogator's reputation preceded him, and even the seasoned Marines could not entirely hide their unease. The man's heterochromia eyes, one a cold blue and the other a piercing red, swept over the group with an intensity that felt invasive, as though he was reading their very souls.
Lieutenant Colonel Bauer stepped forward to greet the man, his face a mask of professional detachment. "Welcome. I trust your journey was uneventful."
The Angel of Judgment's smile widened, revealing his perfectly white teeth, but there was no warmth in his expression. "Quite. I understand you have a subject for me."
Bauer nodded, gesturing towards the base's main building. "Kyros is in the stockade. Your expertise is... well known. We're counting on you to extract the information we need."
The interrogator nodded once, sharply, and then turned his attention to the assembled Marines and the students from Beacon Academy. His gaze lingered on each of them in turn, making them shift uncomfortably.
"You must be the famous students of Beacon Academy," he said, his voice dripping with a kind of sinister charm. "I do hope your stay here has been educational."
Yang, always one to meet challenges head-on, tried to hide her apprehension. "Yeah, we've been learning a lot."
The Angel's eyes flicked to Yang, and his smile grew almost predatory. "Good. Learning is the path to understanding, after all."
Blake, still partially concealed behind Anthony, shivered as his gaze passed over her. Ruby, clutching her Jie's arm, felt a chill run down her spine.
"Alright, let's get to business," Bauer interjected, breaking the tension. "We'll escort you to the stockade."
As the group moved towards the main building, the Marines kept a respectful distance from the interrogator. Teams RWBY and JNPR followed, still shaken by the brief encounter. The air was thick with a mix of curiosity and dread.
In the stockade, Kyros was secured in a high-security cell, designed to contain even the most dangerous individuals. As the door slid open, Kyros looked up, a flicker of fear crossing his face as he recognized the man entering the room.
The Angel of Judgment stepped inside, his movements slow and deliberate. "Kyros, is it? We have much to discuss."
The door closed behind them, sealing the two inside. Outside, the group could only imagine what was happening within those walls. The Marines stood guard, their expressions stony and resolute.
Lieutenant Colonel Bauer turned to the students. "This is a necessary part of our operations. I understand it's unsettling, but we must use all the tools at our disposal to ensure peace and safety."
Ozpin nodded, his face serious. "This is a harsh reality of the world we live in. But remember, our goal is to build a future where such measures are no longer needed."
Sienna Khan and her White Fang members watched in silence, a new understanding dawning on them about the lengths the UNE would go to in their pursuit of justice.
The interrogation continued inside the stockade, the soundproof walls ensuring no one outside could hear the methods employed by the Angel of Judgment. The unease among the group lingered, but so did a renewed determination to do their part in the fight for a better world.
"Quick question, sir." Mari asked Lieutenant Colonel Bauer. "Why did he bring a barrel with a 'Danger!' warning sign on it?"
Lieutenant Colonel Bauer just shrugs even he doesn't know. However, his eyes went to Anthony who has a pale look. This caught everyone's attention.
"You know what's in that barrel, Towson?" Ozpin said.
"...One time back when I was still fresh from Basic. I caught a glance of the man interrogating a active terrorist. The terrorist gave up everything in fear of him." Anthony said relieving some tension.
Sienna crossed her arms, "Well that doesn't seem to bad."
"Yeah... that's what I thought... until he chuckled at the terrorist and brought out that same barrel. He explained it was a mixture of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and nitric acid. Or what he calls it..." He gulps, "Dip."
"I have no idea what acid or what those acids are, but hearing you gulp like that just paints a bigger picture." Jaune said getting nods of agreement from his team, Team RWBY, Ozpin, Sienna, and the White Fang members.
"So what exactly—" David started sniffing the air, "What's burning?"
"More like who's muffled screaming..." Blake said then paled and looked at the door of the stockade. "Oh my god..."
The Angel of Judgment stepped barrel in hand steaming with a closed lid. Igor looked inside the stockade and saw that Kyros was gone. He turned to the man in disbelief, "Did you melt Kyros?"
The Angel of Judgment turns around giving everyone a look and smile. "He won't be a problem anymore, right?" His smile widen.
The revelation of what had transpired within the stockade sent a shockwave through the gathered crowd. The mixture of acids, referred to as "Dip" by the Angel of Judgment, had completely dissolved Kyros, leaving no trace behind. The gruesome reality of the situation hit everyone hard, and the reactions were immediate and visceral.
Blake, Nora, Jaune, Weiss, and several of the White Fang members couldn't hold back their revulsion and vomited on the spot. The rest, though not as physically affected, displayed various reactions ranging from shock to horror. The once casual air around the helipad had transformed into a scene of grim understanding.
Lieutenant Colonel Bauer maintained his stoic demeanor, though his eyes betrayed a hint of discomfort. He cleared his throat, addressing the group to regain control of the situation. "This is a reminder of the severe measures we sometimes have to take to ensure the safety and security of our operations. It's not something we take lightly."
Ozpin nodded in agreement, his expression somber. "The world we live in requires difficult choices. While this is a harsh reality, it is a necessary one. Let us hope that through our efforts, we can build a future where such actions are no longer required."
Sienna Khan, arms still crossed, looked at the Angel of Judgment with a mix of awe and apprehension. "Your methods are... effective," she admitted, though her tone carried a note of caution.
Anthony, still pale, added, "Effective, yes. But it's a reminder that we must always strive to find better ways, ways that don't force us to compromise our humanity."
The Angel of Judgment, unfazed by the reactions around him, simply smiled. "Sometimes, the ends justify the means. Remember that in this line of work, fear can be a powerful tool."
As the VTOL prepared for departure, the Marines and students slowly began to collect themselves. Teams RWBY and JNPR, still reeling from the sight, drew closer together, finding solace in their shared shock.
Mari, trying to lighten the mood despite the circumstances, spoke up, "Alright, everyone, let's take a moment to breathe. We're all in this together, and we need to stay strong."
David, always quick to adapt, added, "Yeah, let's not forget why we're here. We have a job to do, and we need to stay focused."
Jie nodded, her expression resolute. "We need to protect those who can't protect themselves. Let's use this as motivation to become even better at what we do."
Felix, looking to his father for guidance, received a nod of encouragement from Lieutenant Colonel Bauer. "Remember your training and your purpose. We are the front line against chaos and destruction."
As the group began to disperse, returning to their duties with a renewed sense of determination, the Angel of Judgment watched them with a knowing smile. His work here was done, but the impact of his presence would linger, a stark reminder of the lengths to which they might have to go in their fight for peace and justice.
The day continued, and despite the grim encounter, the bonds between the Marines and the students grew stronger. They knew that they had to rely on each other now more than ever, and that unity was their greatest strength in the face of such overwhelming darkness.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next night, Ruby is seen tied up waking up she saw Adam and his extremists and started to get scared. After a few minutes, next to her a woman who looks to be the same age as Ruby woke up and Adam started to question her.
"I don't take much pleasure in seeing you... UNE humans." He turns his gaze towards Ruby, "Or Huntress."
"Then let us go. We didn't do anything to you." The girl said in a scared but brave tone.
"That depends on how you'll act." Adam said as he reads the name tag on her jacket, "Analisa... Towson... Volunteer... C.H. Flowers High School..."
Ruby could tell that things weren't going well right now. She figured that the marines and her team had already begun searching for the two. She looked around and took note that they were in a old office building.
"Rubes, you here?" A voice both recognized. Anthony's voice.
That's when Adam had then let out a silent signal to have the others hide. It worried Ruby that her friends and team were about to get killed. And as Adam pulled out his sword, things went from bad to worse.
"ANT IT'S A TR—"
That's when Adam had decapitated Analisa on the spot. Ruby had started to cry as she saw her die. Some flowers that were cut from the strike, fall to the ground.
The marines, Weiss, Blake, and Yang burst in. As soon as they did, they saw that Analisa was dead. And saw that it was a Adam.
"ANA!!" Anthony cried out loud seeing his dead younger sister. He looked at Adam and he. Was. ANGRY. "I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU REDBULL BASTARD!!!!"
The sight of Analisa's lifeless body fueled Anthony's rage beyond control. The room seemed to blur around him as he zeroed in on Adam, the man responsible for his sister's death. Adam's smug expression only intensified Anthony's fury. The tension in the room was palpable, and the UNE Marines alongside Weiss, Blake, and Yang braced themselves for what was about to unfold.
Adam's extremists began to emerge from their hiding spots, weapons drawn and ready. The air crackled with impending violence, and the room became a battleground in an instant.
"Get Ruby out of here!" Anthony shouted to his comrades as he charged at Adam, drawing his combat knife in a blind rage. Yang and Blake moved swiftly, grabbing Ruby and pulling her to safety while Weiss provided covering fire with her rapier, casting glyphs to slow down the attackers.
Anthony and Adam clashed in a brutal hand-to-hand fight, their weapons clanging and sparking in the dimly lit room. Anthony's strikes were wild and fueled by anger, while Adam's movements were calculated and precise. The sound of their battle echoed through the building, a symphony of metal and fury.
"You're going to pay for this," Anthony growled through gritted teeth, slashing at Adam with a ferocity that left no room for defense.
Adam parried the attacks with his sword, smirking. "You're letting your emotions control you, Marine. That's your weakness."
The rest of the Marines and Team RWBY members engaged Adam's extremists, the room filling with gunfire and the clash of weapons. Michael, David, Shino, and the others fought valiantly, their training and experience evident as they took down the White Fang members with precision.
"Anthony, focus!" Shino called out, dealing a swift blow to an extremist trying to flank him.
Anthony's eyes remained locked on Adam, the pain of losing his sister driving him forward. "This ends now, Adam."
Adam's smirk faltered as Anthony's relentless assault began to overwhelm him. With a final, desperate move, Adam swung his sword in a wide arc, aiming to disarm Anthony. But Anthony was ready. He ducked under the swing, lunging forward and plunging his knife into Adam's side.
Adam gasped, his grip on the sword weakening. "You...you'll never stop us..."
Anthony twisted the knife, his voice a low growl. "Watch me."
With a swift motion, Anthony yanked the knife free and delivered a powerful kick to Adam's chest, sending him crashing to the ground. The room fell silent as the last of the extremists were subdued, their resistance snuffed out by the combined efforts of the Marines and Team RWBY.
Anthony stood over Adam, breathing heavily, his eyes filled with a mixture of rage and sorrow. He glanced at the lifeless body of his sister, a single tear escaping his eye.
"We did it," Yang said, her voice steady but filled with emotion. "We got Ruby out."
Blake nodded, placing a comforting hand on Anthony's shoulder. "We need to get out of here. More could be on their way."
Anthony nodded slowly, his gaze still fixed on Adam. "This isn't over," he said quietly. "Not until every last one of them pays for what they've done."
The group moved swiftly, carrying Ruby and the body of Analisa with them as they made their way out of the building. The night air was cold and crisp, a stark contrast to the heated battle that had just taken place.
As they regrouped and prepared to head back to base, the weight of their losses and the battle ahead loomed heavy over them. But in that moment, they were united by a shared determination to fight for a better future, one free from the terror and pain inflicted by the likes of Adam and his extremists.
And for Anthony, the memory of his sister would be the fire that fueled his fight, driving him to see justice served no matter the cost.
