All Eyes On Me - Battles Pt4
"Looks like we're up, Midoriya!" Kaminari laughed, shooting his fist into the air. "Man, I'm pumped!"
I nodded, inhaling and exhaling in order to calm myself.
Kaminari raised his brow, "Dude, you okay?"
Rubbing the back of my neck, I gave an awkward laugh. "Yeah, just a little nervous."
"Makes sense. Anyways, I think we're just about at our position. Do you have the sheets?"
Rather than answering, I simply pulled out a folder, holding our two opponents.
"God, this is nerve racking," Kaminari joked.
Sliding out the top piece, I was met with Yaoyorozu's file, complete with a fake mugshot.
I raised my brow, "Wow, they went all out, huh?"
As my comment was met with a laugh, I began to scan the paper.
Name: Momo Yaoyorozu
Quirk: Creation - The user can create any object from their body-as long as they understand the atomic configuration of said object.
Quirk Weaknesses: The user must understand the atomic configuration of the object they wish to create, and must keep themselves well-fed to produce anything.
Height: 173cm
Age: 16
Past Crimes: Bomb threats
Known Hideouts: N/A
Nodding along with each statement, I eventually finished Yaoyorozu's sheet, pulling out Kirishima's afterwards.
Name: Eijiro Kirishima
Quirk: Hardening - The user may harden any part of their body, giving the user both offensive and defensive power.
Quirk Weaknesses: There is a time limit for how long this quirk may be active, draining the stamina of the user and dissipating overtime. Additionally, this quirk isn't suitable for long-ranged attacks.
Height: 170cm
Age: 16
Past Crimes: In possession of illegal substances, threatening officers
Tapping my finger on my chin, I closed my eyes, attempting to discover their intents and crime. Both of them have threats in common... It can't very well be a hostage situation, since it'd be too close to the kidnapping exercise... There isn't much to be done with threatening officers... And finding illegal substances would be substantially similar to the burglary exercise. So... Does that mean there's a fake bomb like in the first exercise?
"Hey, Kaminari, I'm not sure, but I might have an idea on what their crime is," I explained, "While most of the past crimes are either too similar to previous exercises, can't very well be replicated, or just don't allow for as much action, there is one option that could be possible..."
Kaminari raised his brow, "What's that?"
"Like I said, I'm not certain, but maybe bomb threats? Except, that's extremely close to the very first training session we did, so it's possible that they increased the difficulty. Say... By adding more bombs? Or increasing the number of obstacles?"
"Yeah... That definitely makes sense," he agreed, "But how do we find them? You think they'll be in a building like, threatening to blow it up?"
"That's likely. All we can really do is search for clues and find them. I imagine their objective will be something along the lines of destroying a certain thing, or even the whole building, so be careful when we arrive."
Kaminari gave me a thumbs up, grinning. "Got it!"
I peered around each corner, searching for clues in order to locate the villains.
Motioning towards Kaminari, I put my fingers up to my lips, pointing at a nearby building.
"I'm not sure," I whispered, "But I think one of the lights just went off on one of the top floors."
He nodded, silently creeping behind me as we made our way to the building. In an effort to avoid being seen, we squeezed through the side, backs pressed against the wall.
"What now?" he questioned. "Should we look for a back entrance?"
Glancing up, I shook my head, but quickly stopped myself. "Well... Actually, I have an idea." Jabbing my finger upwards, I relayed my plan to him. "You can go through the back, and I'll go down from the roof. When we were walking here, I noticed an entrance up top. That way, you can check for any bombs and 'disarm them' with your quirk, and I can do the same manually with any bombs that may be above them. Then, after we're each a floor above and below them, we can sneak in together." Turning to him, I added, "Sound good?"
"Yeah, makes sense. That way one of us could even act as a distraction. Otherwise, we can just surprise them by coming from two directions at once. Maybe it'll even cause them to split up in order to attack," he smiled, sparkling electricity in his palm. "Ready?"
I nodded, directing him towards the back as I leapt between the building in order to make it to the top.
Glancing down, I noticed Kaminari looking at me with awe.
"Dude, I thought you broke your bones or something when you used your quirk!" he exclaimed through the communicator."
"Shh," I whispered, smiling slightly. "Yeah, I learned it during my internship. Cool, huh?"
"Definitely," he laughed, throwing up finger guns before moving to the other side of the building.
At the top, I found the staircase that lead down, which was blocked by a heavy metal door. Grasping the handle in my hands, I shook the knob, but was unable to get it open. It's jammed shut...
Biting my lip, I looked around, searching for anything to open the door with. Unfortunately, I came up short-handed, squeezing my eyes shut as I kicked the door in.
The metal clattered to the ground, causing me to wince at the noise. I hope they didn't hear that...
Just to be safe, I waited a moment, then entered the staircase when I couldn't hear footsteps.
As I traveled downwards, the lighting became more dim, eventually reaching a point where it was almost pitch black. Squinting, I sighed, trying to avoid walking into walls.
Maybe I should've brought Kaminari... Or just sent him up here instead... Then he could light this up with his quirk, I grumbled. Wait...
Bringing my fist up, I began to channel the energy of One For All into it, the energy giving off a faint green light. Perfect. No bombs on this floor, though.
After scanning the second room, I managed to find a bomb planted in the corner. Crouching next to it, I examined the contraption, prying off a chunk of metal with my quirk. Wires.
Suddenly, my mind went blank as I gripped the wires in my fist, ripping them out as they sparked. My eyes widened as I looked down at my hand. Why did I just do that?
Shaking my head, I cleared my thoughts, continuing the process until I made it to the floor I assumed was above the villains. Pressing my ear against the cold floor, I was able to hear faint footsteps clacking against the concrete. Perfect.
Straightening myself up, I activated my communicator. "Kaminari, are you in place?" I whispered, covering my mouth slightly so the sound didn't escape.
"Yeah, I'm coming up the stairs to the room below them now," he replied quietly, soft footsteps in the background. "Alright, I'm here. You ready?"
"Yes. 3...2...1... NOW!"

This chapter is too long so I had to split it into 2. Whoops... Guess I got carried away, huh? :p
