∆ Avery's POV ∆

"See you tomorrow Austin" i smiled and waved at him.

"Bye Avery" he waved and smiled back. But his smile....was kinda like a sad smile.

I shrugged it off and opened the door.

And i was greeted by, no other, the one and only...mom

I laughed and before my mom could speak i raised my hand infront of her as a wait sign

"I'll tell you all the details dont worry. But lemme change first" i said and my mom smiled and nodded.

I ran upstairs and my jaw dropped.

All the way to my bedroom are lights, Christmas lights hanging around the ceiling. But u know the stranger things type of lights.

And it was flickering.

"I swear to my oreo cheesecake if this is a prank I'll kill the mastermind of this crap" i shouted.

I walked slowly looking around everywhere and the walls to see if a demogorgon decides to pop out of nowhere

"What the hell is happening?" I said with a shaky breath. The lights are still flickering.

"Mom?!" I said calling my mom but she didn't answer.

I walked forward slowly with my knees shaking. I'll kill whoever's doing this crap.

I finally reached my room door. If a demogorgon is inside my room, tell Austin to save me from the upside down, if I'm still alive.

I opened the door and.....

"What the hell?" I said amused.

My whole room flippin changed. The walls, the decor, the bed sheet. Everything.

The lights stopped flickering. And daym, I'm so shocked and amused and happy. My room right now, is stranger things themed.

"You like it?" My mom asked from behind me so i turn around and smiled

"I like it?? I freaking love it!!" I said and hugged her

"Thank you so much!" I added

"You're thanking me? You should thank the one who did this, i only helped" i said and i pulled away from the hug and looked at her

"Um..who did this?" I asked with my face puzzled.

"Ah, try to guess it" mom said and poked the tip of my nose

I tried to think for the possible person for 2 seconds. But all i have in mind is Austin.

"Austin Connor did this" i said with my smile widening.

My mom didnt say anything and she stepped back until she reached the door pointing at the hallway.

With my eyebrows furrowed i walk forward

"What?" I asked mom but she just pointed at the hallway again smiling.

So i look to the hallway to see Austin. My heart started to beat rapidly and butterflies started to fly around my stomach.

I couldn't hold my smile back. It's like my smile has a mind of it's own. Is it possible that your heart can control your smile?

I dont think it's possible because it can't even control my damn fellings for him!

I walk to him. His cute face that i want to punch. His hands at his back.

"So, you're the mastermind of all this?" I asked when i reached him and he laughed

"Yes, i am. Do you like it?" He asked smiling like there's no tomorrow

"I love it" i said smiling widely

"You did say you were gonna kill the mastermind of this crap" Austin said smirking at me and i punch his shoulder

"Ouch. Physical abuse" he chuckled

He put both of his hands at his sides

The other one was empty and the other one is holding a rose, a white rose. And he handed it to me.

"What's this for?" I asked holding the rose up

"You know what, Avery? You should stop asking questions. Is it bad that i just wanna do this?" He said being a little serious and i flinched at his tone

"Im sorry" i apologized. And he smiled

"Good." He said and he got down on one knee.

He pulled out a tiny box from his pocket. And held it infront of me.

I froze, like frozen couldn't speak, nervous and shocked

He laughed at my reaction

"I know what you're thinking. No, im not gonna ask you to marry me" he said. Well, way to go to ruin the moment Austin!

"This is a promise ring" he said and opened the box.

Inside it are two rings. Both with an infinity sign. He took one, which is the smaller one and he got up. He took my left hand and slid the ring on my ring finger ofcourse.

And i took the other ring and did the same.

"To infinity and beyond Austin" i said and hugged him.

"To infinity and beyond.....Avery" he said and hugged me back.

I pulled back from the hug and smile

"Sleepover?" I asked hoping he'll say yes.

"Um....duh! You know it!" He said holding up a bag that came out of nowhere. And i laughed

I don't need anybody else. I only need Austin to make me feel better.

"Wake up sleepy heads!" Mom said shouting.

Really? It's not my alarm clock, it's my mom. Life really isn't fair. I slowly rised up from my bed groaning.

"Really mom? It's like 4:00 in the morning" i said yawning and rubbing my eyes

"It's 6:00" mom said scoffing and she placed her hands on her waist.

I tapped Austin to wake him up. Believe me, i tapped him multiple times.

"Austin" i said. Well, more like whispered. I shake his shoulders but he's still asleep. This guy, is so hard to wake up in the morning. I rolled my eyes and stand up from my bed.

"I'll just wake him up later" i said to my mom and i walked to my closet.

I picked my skinny jeans and crop top and went to the bathroom. I locked the door ofcourse, cuz, u know..

After 20 good minutes i finished my morning routine and walked out of the bathroom.

"Geez Austin. You're such a heavy sleeper" i scoffed and walked over his sleeping body.

"No, I'm not" he said and he slowly opened his eyes.

"Oh, well. Um..you're awake! So yea. Better get ready" i laughed nervously

That was awkward..

He sits up and looks at me.

"Can you please stop being cute?" He said

What? What am i doing?? I'm just standing infront of him for Pete's sake!

"W-what?" I asked confused

"You're distracting me" he sighed and walked to the bathroom with his stuff

What the hell just happened? That is the most messed up thing ever. Even though it made me blush. How am i distracting him? God he can be messed up sometimes.

"Hurry up, Austin!" I shouted and sat down my bed.

"Yeah, I'll out after 5 minutes...no, make it 7!" I heard him chuckle behind the bathroom door

"We're going to be late! Hurry up" i said shouting a little bit so he can hear.

"I'll be out in a minute" he said.

Why do they say that girls take forever to get ready? Umm..base on my Austin situation... Boys are the one who takes forever to get ready!

After the "minute" that he said he finally came out of the bathroom.

"Finally" i sighed and threw my hands in the air. And he laughed..

God his laugh...it'll never get old. It became music to my ears. Oh fudge, let's just cut this shiz and I'm gonna have breakfast.

"C'mon" i said and slung my bag over my shoulder pulling Austin downstairs.

For the first time...i felt electricity when our skin  touched, but i ignored it, well, i tried to.

"You feel it too, don't you?" Austin asked me and i stopped walking down the stairs

"Feel what?" I asked playing dumb

"The electricity" he stated.

"Yea" i nodded and continued walking, but this time i didn't hold Austin's hand.

he followed me to the kitchen and i grabbed a granola bar and an apple.

I tossed Austin the apple and he chuckled

"What?" I asked almost choking on the granola bar.

Fudging granola bar. You almost killed me.

"Nothing, i just thought that you were gonna toss the granola bar and not this apple" he smiled sweetly.

I shrugged but i smile by secret. Even stupid moments like this with Austin makes me smile. Fvcks sake!

The threw the wrapper away and Austin threw away the apple core.

"Bye Mom!" I shouted a quick goodbye to mom

"Bye, sweetheart. See you later" mom said and i walked out of the house with Austin.

"Well this is awkward" Austin said rubbing his arm.

"Now that you mention it, it is" i said trying not to be so awkward on my voice. Me, once again, playing dumb on Austin.

It was silent for one minute. And my mind drifted somwhere else.

"I mean it, you know" Austin said and he shurgged his shoulders.

"What?" I asked and i stopped walking looking at him directly.

"You distracting me..you being cute" he said blushing lightly.

Oh my frikin god. My inner self started to panic and hyperventilate. Just kidding, i don't even know what hyperventilate means. I'll probably search it up later

"Oh..okay" i smiled at him and i let out a weird nervous laugh.

Keep it together, Avery! You need to stop your feelings for Austin right?

Yea, right.

Having a conversation with my inner self makes my feelings for Austin grow!

I can't i need to stop this shit. Once and for all, but how?

He sighed and walked beside me "Let's stop this awkwardness" he said and he grabs my hand.

I felt that damn electricity again. And it spread warmth all over my body.How is this happening? Why is this happening??

I thought this 'electricity' only happens in cliché books?!

Once our skin touched, i looked at his eyes and he looked at mine.

His greyish green eyes makes me fall for him even more. So i looked away and closed my eyes

"Think of this day...as our last day together" he said, his voice sounds like he's gonna cry any minute.

So i looked back at his eyes...and i smiled

"Why?" I asked. Because it sounded a little funny to pretend that this is our last day together.

"It's just...–i...—please" he  stuttering.

"Okay. Let's make the most out of this day" i said chuckling and he hugged me. And did i forget to mention the sparks? The electricity? The warmth when he hugged me?

I pulled away and we continued our walking. This time..it's not awakward.

∆ Austin's POV ∆ (yeeeea)

"Geez Austin, you're such a heavy sleeper" i heard Avery scoffed and i opened my eyes slowly

"No, im not" i said

"Oh, well. Um..you're awake! So yea. Better get ready" Avery saud laughing nervously.

I sit up slowly and i dont know what happened but my body and my heart just took over..i know, i sound like a girl.

And the first thing i noticed..is her. And she's so cute and i dont know how to explain this but....she looks beautiful.

"Can you please stop l cute?"  That's the first thing that comes out of my mouth. I mean it, but my heart and body just took over!

Her face formed a puzzled look

"W-what?" She stutters confused.

"You're distracting me" i sighed and i grabbed my bag and i walked to the bathroom.

"What the hell was that?" I asked myself as soon as i locked the door.

I paced  around the bathroom worrying. Will it be awkward? What will happen if i go out the bathroom?
Will she ask questions? Those questions circled around my head.

"Hurry up, Austin!" I heard avery shout. Her voice bought me back to reality. I quickly grabbed my toothbrush and i brush my teeth and wash my face.

"Yeah, I'll out after 5 minutes...no, make it 7!" I said chuckling.

But after i said that, all i did was pace around the bathroom and panic.

I changed out of my old clothes and i decided to wear my black tshirt and my jeans, along with my converse.

And then i suddenly remembered....today's the last day...

My last day with Avery..

"We're going to be late! Hurry up". I heard Avery shout once more.

"I'll be out in a minute" i said trying to keep my voice from shivering

I felt tears forming in my eyes..before i walked out of the bathroom i washed my face so that the tears would go away. And thank God, it did

"Finally" Avery said throwing her hands up in the air and i laugh at her reaction.

And then it hit me...I'm falling inlove with Avery..

W-what? Why? How? I can't fall in love with her! She's my bestfriend for fvcks sake!

She froze a litttle bit. And after a few seconds..she shakes her head and stand up

"C'mon" she said and she slung her bag over her arm and then she takes my hand.

And then sparks started to erupt on my hand..the one that she was holding. My heart started to beat rapidly.

I couldn't hold it back anymore..i have to ask her if she feels it too..

"You feel it too, don't you?" I asked her and we stopped walking down the stairs.

"Feel what?" She asked back. I know she's playing dumb.

I've known Avery all my life...and it hurts to know that I'll be leaving her tomorrow.

"The electricity" i simply said.

'You want her to say yes?' My inner self asked me

'Of course i want her to say yes' i said to my inner self.

'But you know it'll hurt her, right?' My inner self said back. I know... I know it'll hurt her so much..

And i can't stand it. I can't see her get hurt.

"Yea." She and and she continued walking down the stairs...this time, without holding my hand. And i admit, i miss the presence of her hand in mine.
