∆ Avery's POV ∆

Austin and i safely got home last night and he left the house early.

"So, how was the park" mom said in a teasing voice raising her eyebrows up and down

"Mom!" I said embarrassed

"I thought you vote for Dylan and Ryan" i said reminding her and she sighed

"Well, you don't love them. You love Austin" mom said and she shrugged.

"How come he didn't sleep over tonight?" Mom asked

"He said he had to do something important" i said

"Well. I gotta go" i said and i stand up from the chair

"Austin's not gonna pick you up?" Mom asked and i shrugged

"Maybe we'll just see each other on the way" i said

I walked out of the door and called Austin. After five rings, he finally answered.

"Hey Avery" he said happily

"Well someone's in a good mood" i chuckled

"By the way, im one my way to school. Where are you?" I said

"Why don't you turn around" he said and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion but i turned around and i saw no one

"Are you joking, Austin?" I said and i nervously chuckled

"No" he said but i didn't hear it from the phone, i heard it infront of me. As a reflex, i turned around and i see Austin, smiling. His face is so close to mine, like 2 inches and we're about to kiss.

But i blushed and pushed him away. Why did i have to ruin the perfect fucking moment??!! Bullcrap

We laughed but i was hiding the awkwardness inside.

We stopped and he eyed me up and down then he smiled

"You look cute today" he said as a compliment.

"Don't i always?" I said and i laughed

"Hey would you look at that. Even girls have large egos" he chuckled and we continued walking.

*RRIIIIIIIIINNNGGGG*

The school bell rang and i sighed in relief. Third period is finally over.

"No. Military dogs are better" Austin argued with me all the way to my locker

"You mean german shepherds? Still, pomeranians are better. They're fluffy and cute" i said back and placed my books at my locker

"You know what? Nevermind. I'll let you win" he said and he rolled his eyes me.

"I always win, Austin" i smiled

"Whatever" he said and we walked our way to our next class.

*ding* my phone rang in the middle of the discussion. I looked around to see if somebody heard it. But only Austin did.

I placed my bag infront of me and i pretend that i was looking for something so that i won't get caught. Everybody does that get used to it.

I opened my phone and saw a message......from Ryan.

Ryan: meet me later at lunch near the library

I mentally facepalmed myself. I forgot that I'm spending my time with Ryan.

"Is there something you like to share with us, Ms. Harper?" Ms. Ketley said standing infront of me.

"N-nothing ma'am" i said with my head down. I closed my bag quickly and placed it back to where it was before.

Ms. Kently nodded and continued with the discussion

Lunch finally rolled around.

"Hey Austin?" I said getting Austin's full attention

"Yea?" He said

"You go ahead. I'll meet up with you later. Im going to the library" i said hoping he will say okay

"Yea, sure. But hurry up, okay?" He said and he placed his hand on my shoulder and gave it a light squeeze

"Yup. I will" i smiled and walked away from Austin.

After 3 minutes. I've reached the library.
And i saw Ryan, his back and left foot leaning on the wall and his head down.

"Hey, Ryan" i said and walked closer to him. His his head shot up and looked at me. He smiled, like a big smile.

"You came" he whispered but i heard it.

"Why wouldn't i?" I said and stopped infront of him.

"I just thought....with Austin and all...that you wouldn't come" he said and i blushed. i dont know why but i FRIKIN BLUSHED!

"And here i am" i said smiling

"You look beautiful today" he said and i blushed

"Don't i always?" I laughed using the same line i used on Austin.

"Ofcourse. You always do" he winked at me and i hit his shoulder playfully.

"Here" he said and he handed me a small box

"What's this?" I asked looking at the box then looking at him

"Just open it" he said rubbing the back of his head nervously

I opened the small box and it revealed a necklace with my name on it. It's so beautiful.

"Oh my god Ryan. Thank you so much!" I squealed and i hugged Ryan.

And he hugged me back. "No problem, Avery. I'll give you everything" he said and i pulled back from the hug. It was sweet but a little bit awkward in the same time.

He pulled a necklace out of shirt and he put it on.

"Now we're the same" he smiled. The necklace has my name on it. I admit, im flattered.

"W-wow" i said stuttering.

"Well..i gotta go. See you around?" I said

"See you around" he smiled and i walked away

I entered the cafeteria and i saw him sitting on our table.

"Sup Austin" i said and sat down in front of him.

He pointed at the food tray infront of me. I guess he bought it for me. Yay

"What took you so long?" He asked with his mouth full.

"The book i was finding was impossible to find so i gave up" i said lying.

"I have a surprise for you" he smiling

God i love his smile. I thought to myself.

"Where is it then?" I laughed a little bit

"You won't find out until later" he smirked

"Why??" I asked pouting

"It's because its outside the campus" he deadpanned

I rolled my eyes and scoffed at him.

"Okay, okay. Whatever" i said keeping my chill. God im so impatient. Well im sure that Austin wouldn't tell until later

"You gotta new necklace?" He asked with his eyebrows furrowed while taking a bite out of his food

My palms started to sweat. Well, i guess im gonna have to lie to Austin again.
(That rhymes, i guess?)

"Oh, my dad bought this as a sorry gift thingy." I laughed nervously and wiped my palms on my jeans

He just nodded. Thank the heavens oh lord jesus. Oh shit, shoot. Wh-what about the other exact replica that Ryan's wearing??!! My inner self panics

Don't worry, dont worry. Maybe Austin won't notice it. I started to sweat and a single bead of sweat fell down my forehead.

"Music is everywhere, it's in our mobiles, cars, every-" my music teacher got cut off by a girl who just entered the room. I must say, I've never seen this girl before

"U-um, s-sorry im l-late" the girl stutters. Whispering starts around the classroom. God, highschool. The most fucked up year. But still others think middle school is the worst.

"Oh, you must be the new girl" Out music teacher flashes a sweet smile and the girl nods.

"Come and introduce yourself" and the girl did.

"H-hi, I'm Patricia McKinley" the girl, or might as well i call her Patricia, introduces herself. With my eyebrows furrowed, i scooted a little bit close to Austin so i can whisper something to him.

"Don't you think she's a little familiar?" I whispered to Austin

"Yea, she kinda is" he whispered back.

I sit down properly and waited for her to finish

"Um...that is all, t-thank you" she said with her head down.

"Alright Patricia, you may sit down beside Walters" our music teacher smiled. Walters raised his hand and patricia made her way beside him. I must say, Walters is a pretty lucky cute guy. I mean, patricia is kinda pretty.

"Don't worry, Avery. You're beautiful" i heard Austin whisper and my head almost snapped when i turned my heard towards him fast. But when i looked at him. He was just listening to the teacher and i saw a little bit of smirk playing around his lips.

"Did i say that out loud?" I asked him blushing

"You did, Avery. You did" he smiled.

"Hurry up Avery!" Austin said while scratching the back of his head impatiently.

"Okay okay. Im done" i said an i closed my locker door

"What is it with you and taking so much of your time on your locker every single day?" He asked. Good question actually, good question

"Whatever. Lets go" i said. Well, i was about to answer his question but i blanked out.

He chuckled and he pulled me outside the campus. And i faked cough.

" ehem ehem. How are we gonna get to the 'place' that you're talking about? " i asked and i placed my hands on my hips and i waited for him to reply.

"Easy. We'll walk" he said and he pulled me to what i think is the direction of the 'place'. My eyes widen. Is he serious?! Walking?!!! Mother of cupcakes help me!

"What?! No no no no no no" i said and i tried to free myself from him but i failed, obviously.

"Don't be a baby, Avery. It's just close by" he said and he let go of me. I have no choice, and plus, i wanna find out the surprise.

I sighed in defeat and walked with him.

After a few hella minutes, Austin wrapped a bandana around my head. So I'm blind folded, great.

"What the hell Austin?!" I said a little bit mad. The thing is, if you have a surprise for me. Ya better not blind fold me or else.

"I can't see a thing!" I said with hand motion

"That's the thing about blind folds, Avery." He stated and grabbed my shoulders.

"I swear, Austin Connor. If i trip over something you're dead!" I threatened him.

"Okay, okay. Don't sweat, i got you" he chuckled at the end.

Ofcourse, me knowing Austin will let me trip whatsoever. I formed my hands into a fist ready to punch Austin in the face.

"I swear to the rocks Austin. If you let me trip-" Austin cut me off

"Shut up Avery, we're almost there" he said and i can his hands slowly let go of my shoulders.

"Now, stop here. Don't remove the blindfold unless i say so. Okay?" He said

"Okay" i replied and i hear footsteps

"Remove the blindfold. Now!", i hear Austin say from a distance. I remove the blindfold. This time, i forgot how to breath.

Infront of me are lights, fairy lights to be exact. They're hanging around the trees making some sort of path way.

" what- oh my god. Austin?" I said calling out Austin but he didn't reply.

I looked around but there was no sign of Austin.

I walked a little biy forward, stopping every 5 seconds to look around. Oh my god, i wish you guys can see how beautiful this is. And also perfect timing because the sun is setting.

I continued walking. Okay, i admit. I'm a little scared. I mean, what if a fucking demogorgon pops out of nowhere?

I stopped, the end of the pathway resulted in a cliff.

There's a little setup in the middle of it. A blanket fort and a project with a big white cloth hanging. And ofcourse there's snacks, and my all time favorite, oreo cheesecake.

I walked towards it seeing a movie in the laptop, Austin's Laptop. Sharkboy & Lavagirl. My favorite movie.

I heard a twig snap so as a reflex i turned around.

And there he is, Austin Connor. Standing there with his hands behind his back.

He was smiling and i walked towards him.

"Explain, how on earth did you set this all up?" I asked smiling. Okay, okay. I can't control my smile. I tried to but i cant.

"Last night, i told you i was gonna do something important, and i didn't sleep" he said scratching the back of his neck.

That's kinda sweet actually.

"So what's the occasion?" I asked. Because i know he wouldn't do this if there's nothing to celebrate

"It's -umm... It's nothing, i just wanted to do this" he said smiling.

"Okay, dude" i chuckled and shrugged.

"C'mon" he said and pulled me towards the mini setup.

"Ah, you know me too well Austin" i said pointing at his laptop.

"Ofcourse i do" he winkind at me.

You see, when we were kids. He calls me Lavagirl and i call him Sharkboy.

Cheesy cringy i know but we stopped calling each other that when we were 10.

"Let's go enjoy planet drool, sharkboy" i said nudging him in the ribs lightly.

He laughed and we sat down at the cushions that he bought.

He played the movie and i was excited as hell! Who wouldn't? It's Sharkboy & Lavagirl for petes sake!

"That was flilppin' gold!" I shouted when the movie ended.

"I knew you'd like it" he smiled and ruffled my hair.

"Why wouldn't I?" I said and lied down the cushions and gazed at the stars.

He lied down and gazed at the stars too.

"What's your wish, Avery?" Austin asked

"Um..why are you asking? There's no shooting star" i said looking around the sky to see if i missed the shooting star.

"No, no. I just want to know" he chuckled

"Okay, look. Find the brightest and biggest star you could find. And then, you just wish" he said and shrugged

"And this will work?" I asked with my eyebrows furrowed. I really wanted to laugh because of Austin's silly believing.

"Maybe" he said and i started to search for the perfect star. After a few seconds, i found it.

"There" Austin and I said both in the same time pointing at the same star.

We laughed. And it died down after a few seconds.

"Let's just wish together" he suggested and i agreed.

I wish, that our friendship, will be forever and Austin will be here my side. Always

That's it, one simple wish but means the whole world to me

I opened my eyes and glanced at Austin.

He's still wishing.

I wonder what he's wishing for right now...

He finally opened his eyes and he sits up properly

"So what'd u wish for?" I asked getting curious

"If i tell then it wont come true" he smiled and shakes his head.

"Oh come on, Austin!" I said and we laughed.

And that's when i realize it...
