∆ Avery's POV ∆

The needle made contact with my bare skin.

Hell I'm already crying! It felt like stabbing you...below the hip!

"I'm right here Avery. You can do it. Just a little more" Austin whispered those calming words.

Suddenly, i forgot the pain.

"All done" the woman doing my tattoo said and she flashes a sweet smile at us.

"Th-thank you" i managed to say very weakly.

I pulled my shirt up a little but just enough to see my tattoo.

"Looks good" he smiled pulling up the sleeve of his shirt.

Matching parabatai tattoos... I feel like a shadow hunter!

We thanked the lady and we payed her.

I couldn't quite make out words about the tattoo.

Oh wait;

It's Pretty, Awesome and....

Definitely worth it :)

We laughed all the way to the food shack and i didn't feel any pain at all from the tattoo..

I tried to touch it, but i felt nothing.

"I'm gonna go check something out...I'll be back in a few minutes" he started walking slowly and i nodded in reply.

To be honest, i feel weird under all the gazes of the guys here...especially without Austin.

God even 12 year olds are staring at me!

"Avery?" I heard a familiar voice call out my name

I swiftly turned around to see who's calling me and to my surprise,

It's Alec! :D

"Hey Alec!" I greeted back happily and he smiled back at me.

Oh shiz, that's the second cutest smile I've ever seen in my entire life.

Ofcourse...Austin's smile is number 1

"I'm so glad to see you again" i said smiling. I can't stop it really, i can't stop my fudging smile!

I got up from my chair and i hugged him. His muscles tensed for a few seconds but he hugged back.

"Oh, this is my best friend, Jacob" he said pulling away from the hug to introduce me to his friend

"Hi I'm Avery" i said introducing myself in a friendly manner.

"H-hi" he stutters and he blushed waving back at me.

This jacob dude is kinda cute, he probably has a lot of girls swooning at his feet.

"So Avery this is gonna sound really weird but...can i have your number?" he said looking at me with a pleading look.

Plus, i told myself to hold back a laugh.

"Yeah sure" i gave him a smile and he gave his phone to me so i can type in my number.

My eyes widen once his phone landed on my hand.

He has to be rich, dude his phone is Iphone X!

"So Avery, let's play 20 questions" Alec suggested once i gave him back his phone

"20 questions? I don't think i have time for that" i said with a sad and disappointed look on my face.

"5 questions it is then" he smiled and we sat down the chairs.

"Full name?" He began

"Avery Sophia Harper" i finished off with a smile

"Alexander Justin Prescott" he answered.

So Alec is just his nickname? Nice.

"School?" Alec asks

"Silverbell High" his expression turned to shock

"Silverbell high? I'm gonna study there next semester" he smiled cheekily at me.

Yay! I mean it....yay!

I returned the smile and he asked the next question

"Hobby?"

"Hmm...gaming" i said and i suddenly remember Dylan, ryan and i playing Xbox in their room

"Skateboarding" he said shrugging his shoulders

"Well isn't that the most obvious thing in the world?" I scoffed resulting him to laugh

"I can teach you if you want?" He asks

Question is, can Alec teach me patiently?

Because Austin kinda gave up teaching me.

"Well...my-" alec didnt even let me finish

"You already have your boyfriend teaching you...yeah i know" he said with sadness traing in his voice

Oh is he serious?? He thinks Austin is my flippin boyfriend??!!

Is he jealous?

"No, he's not my boyfriend. He's my boy best friend!" I said emphasizing the 'boy'

He glanced at Jacob..and he faced me again smiling.

"Age?" He asked

"15" i simply said and i leaned back the chair

"16" oh...he's one year older...aww

"Music?"

Wait a minute... What is my favorite music?

"Personal by the Vamps" i said and i said all the bad words ever invented mentally.

I have a lot of favorite songs...but why did i choose that?! I mean, even though i love The Vamps...still!

"All time low by jon bellion" he smirks at his reply.

Every boy loves that song. No wonder.

"Welp! 5 questions is over. We're gonna go ahead, see you around" he smiled and he walked away.

But Jacob stayed for a minute.

"Alec hasn't been like this for a very long time..." Jacob said with hope trailing in his voice while my eyebrows furrowed in confusion

"Like what? What do you mean?" I asked very confused

"He hasn't smiled like that, you're something else Avery Harper" he finished and he walked off to Alec.

What? I don't understand...what does he mean that Alec hasn't smiled like that??

Very very confusing..

"I'm back" Austin came to my view smiling.

"Thank the heavens" i muttered and he laughed.

"Where'd you go?" I asked him curiously.

Cause i mean, he was gone for like 10 minutes.

"Here" he said placing a paper bag in front of me carefully

Curiously, i opened the paper bag and i saw a delicious looking cupcake with violet icing.

I looked up to meet Austin's smile but he was already eating his cupcake.

Awww

"Thanks Austin! You're the best!" I gladly said and i started to eat off the cupcake

After a few minutes we ordered our food and we left the beach...

And ofcourse, we missed the stupid bus! So we're forced to walk all the way to my house.

"I am not taking another step!" I complained while placing my hands on my knees to catch my breath.

My legs are absolutely strained from all the walking. And i am super duper sweaty and sticky. Which made me cringe in disgust of myself.

On the other hand, Austin looks perfectly fine! With a little bit of sweat on his forehead.

"We're almost there" he smiled at me flashing his perfect teeth.

Is he kidding me??!! We are nowhere close to my house! Hell i can still see the beach!

In response, i rolled my eyes at him and i stand back up. Yep, the strained muscles hurts like a bitch.

"I can't even" i finally spat out words and i let out a breath.

"That's it, i can't stand seeing you tired like this. I'll carry you" he shook his head and he turned around.

Piggy back ride? Yay!

I jumped on his back and i slung my arms on neck and he placed his arms beneath my thighs.

Believe me, it sent delightful sparks  around my thighs.

"Don't drop me" i said sternly.

"I'll never" he smiles

He started to walk while i rest my chin on his shoulders.

There's nothing more better than the best friend bond

We reached my house and we instanly hit the sofa and my mom laughed at our physical state.

Austin literally carried me all the way and the sparks were never ending.

While he's still catching his breath with his eyes closed...i gathered all my strength and i sit up and i gazed at his perfect face.

The tip of his hair fell down  as he took in deep breathes, his lips parted due to his breathing. I tried to find more words to describe his face but nothing more popped out of my mind.

It's perfect..

I tore my gaze away from him before he can open his eyes.

'Shit what am i doing?' I asked myself but i couldn't even answer that

"Avery?" I heard him say that caused me to look at his perfect face again...oh god his raspy voice made my heart pound against my chest faster.

"Yeah?" I replied as i bit my lower lip to stop my heart from beating faster.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

Really? Is he for real? I should be asking him that!

"I'm fine Austin.  How about you?" I chuckled as i brush his hair to the side with my fingers.

Eww his sweat

"I'm fine. Well, I'm about to die to be honest" we both laugh at his response.

It suddenly made me feel guilty because he's tired because of me...but it's mostly his fault too.

"I'm sorry you had to carry me all the way." I look down at my palms because of embarrassment and guilt

"It's fine. You can just repay me or something" he said sitting up and facing me so we're eye to eye level.

"Repay you with what?" I said thinking of things to repay him with

Starbucks?

Yeah, Starbucks will do.

"Oh wait. Starbucks?" I suggested and he winked at me.

"You know me too well" he smiled as he tried to stand up.

Keyword; he tried to.

"Hey Austin, don't force yourself too much. You should rest, we'll go out tomorrow" i said in a calming voice and he nodded and he lied back down.

I let out a smile that i couldn't hold back as i stand up and i walked up to my room leaving Austin to rest.

I decided to take a bath because im still sweaty and sticky.

But before i could enter the bathroom my phone rang.

A message from an unknown number? Oh god, my heart is beating faster again. How am i still alive??

Unknown: hey Avery, this is alec :)

I threw my phone and thanked the Lord it landed on my bed. I started to jump around and squeal.

And after all that craziness i walked towards my phone and i grabbed it typing in my reply.

Me: Hey Alec

I tapped send and i added his nickname

Alec Lightwood

Yes, i know that Prescott is his last name.

But Lightwood is so Shadow Hunter type and i like it. Plus, his nickname is Alec which reminded me of the Alec Lightwood.

Alec Lightwood: wanna hang out tomorrow?

I smirked at his reply and finally my heart decided to beat at it's normal rate

Avery: are you asking me out?

Alec Lightwood: maybe.

Avery: i can't im going to starbucks with austin. And im going to a party tomorrow night :(

Alec Lightwood: aww..busy day?

Avery: yep busy day

Alec Lightwood: facetime later?

Avery: sure. I need to go, talk to you later. Bye!

I waited for his reply before i go to the bathroom

Alec Lightwood: bye ❤

My heart started to beat rapidly again. How can that little emoji heart make my heart beat rapidly??

I entered the bathroom and i finally took a long shower.

Once i was done, i got dressed and i went down to check on Austin...

Who's peacefully sleeping on the sofa.

One word in my mind right now;

Cute.

I walked back up to my room to get a blanket for him then i ran back down and i walked over his sleeping body.

Oh Austin Connor...why are you so cute?

I carefully placed the blanket over his body and i brushed his hair with my fingers. And it sent heart warming sparks all over my hand.

Ring ring! Ring ring!

My stupid phone decided to ring. Stupid stupid phone! Ruining the moment!

I ran back to my room to see what's all the ringing about.

Great! Alec wants to face time me now.

I hurriedly grabbed my brush and i brushed my hair fast.

I quickly took my phone and i answered the facetime.

"Hey Alec!" I greeted waving at him.

"What's up Avery" he smiled

Oh...he shouldn't say that.

"The sky" i chuckled because he's still at the beach with jacob.

"So you're still at the beach?" I added and i look around the screen to see the blue sky and i hear the waves hitting the shore.

"Yeah, we're waiting waiting for our ride" he said turning around and whispered something to Jacob.

I couldn't hear it that much..but all i heard are;

'......when?' -alec

'......i don't think so' -jacob

'Let's wait' -alec

Umm...awkward conversion.

Alec faced back to me.

"Sorry bout that." He said and he grabs his bag and walk forward a van.

I can see everything because of his stupid shaky camera. Seriously, it's making me dizzy.

"It's fine" i said looking away from my screen and focusing on something else.

"Hey alec, i need to go. Gonna check on something I'll just talk to you later" i smiled and looked back at my screen to see him getting inside a van

"Yeah, sure. Talk to you later" he smiled and i pressed the end button

Well that face time was stupid...we didn't even talk much. I hate those types of conversations.

Hmm...I'm getting hungry, cereal would help? Yeah it will.

I walk out of my bedroom door and into the kitchen.

•TIMESKIP•

I decided to check on Austin. I put my bowl in the sink and i walk slowly to the living room so Austin wouldn't wake up...if he's asleep that is.

And when i walked in i got trapped in another trance...again.

He's still sleeping peacefully.

And it made my heart beat like there's no tomorrow

I'm so happy to have Austin Connor im my life
