"An Endorsed Beating"

The plan was simple really: spend a few days for the crime fighting duo, inform her dad on what they knew about him in order to give him a head start and then- when they were done- go back to her peaceful life back in Wales so she could show Mr Dane kindness for the rest of his miserable life.

"Of course." Genesis scolds herself under her breath. "Just one mention of the Holmeses and you're back on the bandwagon." Charles watches her from across the other side of the vehicle. They were sat in a limousine with black tinted windows across from each other with a suitcase rolling around by their feet because Genesis didn't trust the boot. She didn't trust any vehicle that was driven by someone she didn't know.

"You need to find a non-discreet way of re-inviting yourself back into his life. Now, I've had some information and I can tell you that he looked for you for a long time. I reckon he felt guilty. Although his brother now says that he believes you to be dead." Raising an eyebrow Genesis rolls down her window and watches as they drive past a group of teenagers laughing and messing around the entrance of an alleyway.

"Pull up here." She states, straightening up in her seat and gathering her case. "I have a plan." Pocketing her phone as the vehicle pulled up to the curb she thanks them and climbs out. She closes the door and turns to walk in the direction of the teenagers.

"Genesis!" Turning around, she finds her dad watching her through the lowered window. "Stay safe." Nodding with a tight-lipped smile she begins approaching the teenagers again. Digging four Fifty pound notes from her phone case she drops her case in a doorway and saunters up to the loud group.

"Hi." She says, grabbing their attention. They all turn to her, glaring as they look her up and down. Before she can say anything she holds up the notes. "I will pay you two hundred pounds if you'll beat me up." They all glance around at each other with disbelieving laughs. Smiling exasperatedly she holds out the notes to one particular boy with buzzed hair. Stamping out the cigarette that was in his hand, he snatches the notes from her and holds them up to the sun to check they were genuine. Shaking out her arms, Genesis tightens her ponytail and nods as he glances at her.

With a shrug, he pockets the notes and throws a punch at her face. It felt like a slap. He steps back hesitantly as she just stares at him blankly. Suddenly she reaches out and slaps his cheek lightly.

"What was that? Punch me!" She slaps his cheek again making his friends laugh. "Punch me!" She slaps him again. Each impact she made was near to nothing yet it was riling him up as his friends continued to laugh at her teasing. "Or are you too much of a pussy to hit a woman?" That was the final straw for him. Suddenly he was punching her relentlessly, her eye swelling up but the smile never leaving her face. With each hit he yelled out, angry at being made fun of in front his friends and angrier that she continued to laugh at him while he punched her. With a low growl that echoed down the empty dark alleyway he kicks out at her stomach, winding her.

She stopped laughing and doubled over. Clutching her stomach she catches her breath before looking up at him; the entire group falls silent at her scowl and the dark glint in her eyes.

"Now that hurt." She states darkly before charging the boy and knocking him over. Delivering a single punch to his face she watched as his eyes fluttered shut and blood ran slowly from his nose. Standing up and brushing her hands off on her jeans she turns to the group of teenagers and smile exasperatedly. "Thanks." She says and approaches her suitcase, lifting the handle. Point down the street she spares a glance down at the boy. "There's a pharmacy down the street, he'll need some paracetamol when he wakes up." With one final wave over her shoulder she turns away from them and continues down the street, noticing a sign post for Baker Street at the end.

Reaching up to feel her throbbing upper lip she draws back to see her fingers coated in blood before absent mindedly wiping her hand on her white shirt. Realising too late what she had done she looks down and sighs.

"Brilliant."
