After being abandoned by 'Anxiety', Deceit becomes distant, slowly becoming self-serving and depressed overtime. So naturally, when he heard the news that he had ducked out, he jumped at the opportunity to mess with the lights sides by pretending to be Virgil. After all, he was just being the coldhearted villian he had become, with help from Remus of course. Though, as time goes on, it becomes much more personal and he fears he might break his cover.

So he grows attached to the others, comforting Patton, spending time with Logan and slowly, just maybe, falling in love with Roman (Requiem, to break in a glove[Most unrated song btw] and If I could tell her). Remus brings to notice him drifting away so after they fight (Good for you), Deceit runs into imagination in his anger, bumping into Virgil. He encourages him to contiune pretending to be him and gives him an idea (Disappear). Ya da ya da, speech stuff happens like in the musical, but Roman catches Virgil behind some curtains of the livestream and runs over so Only us happens. The light sides confront Deceit about pretending to be Virgil and then words fail happens. He goes back to Remus who sings so big, so small.

You get the picture. I even had half a parody of disappear which I'll put here.

CONNOR:

We're just the bad guys
waiting to be redeemed, right?
Like Thomas doesn't care
The sides don't notice that we're there
So we get lost in the in between

But if you can somehow make them care for me.
