Damsel in Distress.
Genderbent fantasy and superhero au.
Back in her home dimension, Rose had whole life layed out for her. Be captured by a bad guy and stay put, eventually a prince would come save her, have true love's kiss and live happily ever after. This imaginary guy was all she cared about and would daydream about him all day instead of carrying out her royal duties, constantly getting herself into danger on purpose so she could met him.
One day, after being chased by a deadly dragon and accidentally stumbling though a portal to another world, she met three girls, falling into their lives, literally. They try to help her find herself so she can live freely and to stop her borderline suicidal behavior.
Needless to say, it's not as easy as it sounds.
Half baked first chapter:
All was peaceful...
"Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, sHIT, SHIT, SHIT!"
...
Nevermind.
Feet padded quickly across the soft grass, disturbing the beatuiful wildlife surrounding her carelessly. Her high heels had long since been ruined by the murky mud along with the rest of her princess attire. Rose glanced behind her, seeing the neon green dragon still gaining on her despite her sprinting away. Now you may be wondering how such a nice princess could get in such a situation.
You see, Rose was born into royality in a fantastical world of magic and fantasy creatures. As amazing and extraordinary as this world undoubtedly is, like our world, it has one fatal flaw; Discrimination. This world was very behind the times to say the very least, with gender roles being still constantly inforced and gay people being murdered for simply existing.
Resulting from this, outdated gender relations were very common in the stories she was told as a child. As such, Rose was raised to believe that one day, she would get into danger, get saved by a handsome prince and live happily ever after. This conditioning effected her constantly, from the decisions she made to the way she held herself to her beliefs and views of the world.
And she took that notion very, very seriously. Why wouldn't she? That was all she had been taught. Unfortunately, she was not free from trauma. Her mother tried to kill her father for the throne and her sister turned to villainy as a coping mechanism. At her most vulnerable moment when he had no one less to turn to, she completely dedicated herself to that desire, prioritizing her fantasy over all else.
No matter how hard the castle staff to convince her to do otherwise, she was constantly running away from her royal duties and purposely putting herself into danger to hopefully met this person. Her obsession was quickly becoming unhealthy and self-desructive. As a result of her reckless behavior, she had somehow managed to irritate a dragon into chasing her.
When a prince charming, obviously, didn't show up, her survival instincts luckily kicked in, running from the dragon's cave into the woods as fast as she could. Eventually, after a while, Rose reached a wishing well. She sighed in relief. Finally, some good luck. She reached down, putting her hand in her pocket to see if she had any spare coins. But wait, she didn't have any pockets because she was in a fucking dress.
"Well shit." She proclaimed, placing her fists confidently on her hips as she pondered what to do in her predicament. What a pickle she had gotten herself into. A loud roar suddenly sounded behind her, making her around. The dragon was right there, breathing on her. Rose instinctively stumbled back, falling back into the magical well with a shriek.

Meanwhile, three girls were the theater, all with varying degrees of excitement. They had just watched the live action remake of Snow White where Disney changed literally nothing about the story. On the way out, a few people had recognized them and asked for their autographs. Of course, why wouldn't they? They were superheroes just out in the open for crying out loud.
While they enjoyed being recognized for their efforts of protecting the city, they just wanted to spend their free time together in peace. Sometimes they couldn't deny wanting to help someone who didn't know who they are. Going onto the girls themselves, the first girl was a intelligent young Korean women who was almost always cold and blunt in what she had to say.
She had short straight black hair tied in a neat bun and pale skin. Across her nose were a pair of glasses across her nose, granting her lovely golden eyes vision. She was a relatively tall woman, standing at 5"7, and she was slim but not ridiculously. She wore a long selve black shirt that almost flowered around her wrists, hips and neck. Her blue jeans reached down to her nice black almost tap like shoes.
She rolled her eyes cyancially, thinking back to the movie they had just watched that was borderline problematic. She sighed. "It feels like in every classic Disney movie, there's always a princess who's simply a plot device, a mcguffin for the hero to take from the villain."
Her cold mutters caused Pattie, the second girl, to pout sadly, her ears drooping. She had really liked the reimagining of Disney's Snow White, even if it wasn't very up to the times. She was fairly positive and kind girl, seeing the best in everyone as it was simply in her nature. That's how she became friends with the other two. Like she was unique person who didn't see the faults in the people around her.
In her eyes, everyone could
Another unique thing about her was the fact she was a neko, with blue ears and a tail. No one knew why.
"Well, princesses are never in short supply. They're all around us!"
Violet rolled her eyes at their conversation. "Yeah, like princesses just fall from the sky." As the sarcastic hero spoke, she leaned back, holding her arms out in front of her exasperatedly.
As if on cue, a young women in a red dress fell gracefully into her arms, her almost blinding silver tiara slipping a little down her chestnut brown, straight hair. Violet's eyes widened a little at the sudden weight in her arms, looking down to see an unconscious princess looking girl in her arms. She blinked for a moment before speaking. "What the fuck." She whispered harshly.
Before the three girls could process what was happening, the ground shook violently for a moment as something enormous landed behind them. When they turned around, they saw a colossal green dragon a bright green with lime green on it's belly and sharp spikes running from it's head to the bottom of it's tail. It roared with a mighty rage, fire spreading into the air from it's mouth.
There was a beat of stunned silence until Patty hummed, placing her fists on her hips. "Well, you don't see that everyday." She commented softly. She was right. While the girls sometimes faced big monsters in their fights, they were more used to single people. But also a dragon in central Florida just wasn't that common. Louise nodded in agreement before quickly jumping into action, thinking of a plot.
