Time To Find Jack
"According to the computer records..." Nathan said as he read the data on the screen of the time capsule's navigation system. "Yes, those armed gentlemen outside are from the former Scotland Yard!"
Beside him, Boris readied the non-lethal shell of his plasma cannon.
"Great, man! That's just great!" He said between snorts.
"Will they agree to hear us out before they start shooting?" Laura asked no one in particular.Nathan laughed.
"If Boris hadn't parked our time machine on top of three people inside the English parliament... who knows?"
"You're complaining too much for an idiot who doesn't even know how to fly!" Boris snapped.
Laura sighed and wondered if the other travelers were having as much luck as they were. The mission was not an easy one: Locate the infamous assassin Jack the Ripper, who were the only magician capable of closing the portals to the lower worlds. Somehow, he prevented an invasion of demons on Earth on his time. An invasion that took place in 2099, which was why they were there, in the 19th century.
"Stop fighting like two teenagers. We need to find Jack and find out how he dealt with demons in this century." The girl said, as if to remind her companions why their little argument there was meaningless.
"I already told you this mission is stupid. We're not going to stop the invasion, it's why we travel back in time. If we're here, it's because it already happened." Julian, the fourth member of the team, finally spoke.
"Why did we bring this guy anyway?" Boris rolled his eyes.
"He's the last living descendant of Jack the Ripper, we need him alive for the genetic compass to work." Laura remembered.
Boris thought about it, and the fact that he didn't shoot Julian made it clear that he decided to go on with the original plan for the mission. With a deep breath, he looked outside and said:
"Okay, let's just get this over with. Time to deal with our friends out there and find Jack."
