Chapter 30. Saving Faith

{Location: The first realm}(Seliel's POV)

"There," Quivu wipes her paws talon things while glaring at a familiar old woman. Miskaté? I knew she was old but she looks like a young adult here. Jet black hair pearly white skin but a devious smile. Quivu looks at her work, the temple. This is when she hid the mask of hatred, "Go on. Do the magic you promised Oni."

Miskaté places the mask on a pedestal, whispering words as a blue glow surrounds it, "You don't need to be paranoid Quivu. After all, I'm the one who helped steal these. You can trust me."

"I only trust one oni. The spinjutzu master." She points with her wing to the door, "Out with you."

Miskaté rolls her eyes, "Isn't this bridge a little too stable?"

"Over time, it'll erode. Much of this cave will over eons, be destroyed."

Miskaté smiles as she walks out, "Hmm, destruction."

Quivu growls.

"Oh calm down. I don't do that. I just run a humble tea shop." Miskaté steps lively across the floor, reaching the jungle, "I supposed this is where we part ways."

Quivu looks relieved, "You first. I want to watch you leave."

"Couldn't you fly us out?" Miskaté snickers at her uneasiness, "oh wait.."

"You little-"

"I'll walk. There's so much to explore." Miskaté walks behind a smooth path behind the waterfall, "I'll destroy this place from my memories once I'm out. Would that make you feel much better?"

"I'll sleep on it." Quivu watches Miskaté leave, disappearing into the dense jungle before flying. She hums happily as farmers wave at her.

Meanwhile, I'm gripping onto her tail, trying to follow whatever she wants to show me.

It's a while before she dives bombs, corkscrew turning to catch something. She silently flies down, setting a person down. She lowers herself, laying on her belly to be at eye level, "Human, why did you jump?"

The guy looks nice despite the tears streaming down his face, "It's too hard. Everything is too new here."

"And that's why you jumped?" Like Quivu, I'm confused.

"No," The guy sniffles as he leans back against a canyon wall. His brown eyes red from his tears, "No one knows how to do things. I climbed this mountain thinking I'd find something but," he moans loudly, "Nothing. Everything is too fresh and hard. I don't know how to begin anything."

"Do you need a home?" Quivu smiles while grabbing him, zipping him back to the top. She sets him down, pointing with her wing, "How can you not love a challenge? Look at all this Crystal. How could you Pass up something like this? Look, you can build housing into the cliffside, you can begin a family here, mining the rocks below."

"What's mining?" The guy looks drawn back to the cliff, "What's crystal? What's a family?"

"I forgot," Quivu pulls her wing back, looking at the cliffs as if she can already see their blueprints, "Everyone here was just formed from dust. You have no family."

"How do you make a family? Does it involve mining?"

"Not usually." Quivu smiles as she thumbs her tail, "A pair of people gets together. They talk, fall in love mostly, and if they still love each other after a certain length of time, they get married and produce children."

"After that?"

"The cycle repeats with the children once they're old enough. Between that, when they're young, it's the parent's job to care for them. Groom them for work."

"How do the parents' know?"

Quivu smiles, "They tend to just figure it out. Onto mining."

"Can it be anyone?" The guy stops staring at the cliff, looking at the giant purple dragon, "Like a dragon with a dragon and a human with a human."

"That makes sense to me." Quivu looks at the hunk of crystal before them, "Hold on." She roars, souring up before diving back down, creating caves and tunnels while ingraining the crystals in. She comes back, all dirty, "Look, now you have work. Mine and market precious stones for the world."

The guy rubs the back of his neck as he looks down at the shadows, "That sounds like a lot. There's still so much I don't know. So much I need help with."

"I can help. My brother is likey back with mother anyway." Quivu reaches into the cave.

"Wait," the guy bites his lower lip as I step closer, "You're a dragon. Your way will be different from mine."

"Then how do you recommend I teach it?"

"Mabey..." The guy looks sheepish for suggesting this, "Create a new form for your self? A human-like form?"

Quivu tiles her head, "I've never tried that. It would be interesting to walk on two legs." She spreds her wings before covering herself. A bright purple flash later, Quivu is now a woman, tan skin, jet black hair but brilliant purple eyes. She gave her self-mining cloths, tight so nothing would snag. Quivu smiles at the guy's dropped jaw, "Anything else you'd like me to create before we start?"

"You said to make a family, it's got to be a dragon and a dragon or a human and a human. I'm just curious-"

"A good trait to have."

"What could happen with a dragon and a human?" He starts blushing like mad, studdering, "I-I don't, I definitely don't mean anything between us...just um...thought experiment?"

Quivu taps her chin, "Mabey we should start with names before counting this experiment." She bows, "I am Quivu. Twin daughter to mother dragon of the first realm."

"I'm um... Even. Part of the new realm called Ninjago." Even snaps his fingers, "Founder of the first mountain village. Passage of Crystals."

Quivu smirks as she waves him into the cave, "A mouthful. Why not Crystal Pass?"

I moan as I rub my eyes. Waking up. All around are my friends, looking for an escape, "I don't suppose that our little hunter problem disappeared while I was meditating?"

Kit shakes her head as she helps me up, "Nope."

"Darn."

"Dragonborn," I know that ugly voice. My eyes open to the yellow teeth of Iron Baron, "It's time to wake up."

I try punching him only to find myself in chains, "Let. Me. Go."

"No. You already made a fool of me and my hunters." He snarls as he climbs down. Me, Nya and Faith are tied up to a tepee style pial of woods. Bait traps. Like what they wanted to hunt dragons with. Another structure is set up where, Skylor, Kit, and Pixal are chained. And the hunters are between us. Iron Baron chuckles as he stares at me, "My town is ruined because you invited firstborn to it." He holds out Faith's dragon blade. The metal scraping against my skin. "But you can make it up to me." His fingers curl around my jaw.

I have enough room to stomp on his foot and knee him where the sun doesn't shine. He grips on my chains, bearly holding on. I smirk at my work, "You can't touch me. You might think you know how to control dragons but you don't know me."

Iron Baron rolls his eyes, "If I can't touch you," he nods, light blue wires wrap around me and my friends, tickling us, "I'm sure that your dragon brethren would gladly touch your friends."

I hold in snort. I'm not even ticklish and this tickles, "Don't."

"How far are you willing to go?" He twirls the blade so it's under Kit's neck, "To save their skins?"

"I..." I can't help but giggle even though this is serious, "Can show you where the dragon armor is."

He smiles, cutting me lose, "If you can't, well," he lets me go down while points to Nya, "I can run a lot faster then you think." He doesn't even chain me up, just pushes me towards a volcano like mountain, "Keep an eye on them. If you hear the firstborn's roar, let them go."

They shout for me to come back while Faith shouts at Iron Baron.

This is very bad.

{Location: The base of Kenneth's strong hold}(Morro's POV)

Everything hurts. My eyes don't want to open but I force them too. Two someones are pulling me. And there's this nasty ringing in my ears. My eyes try to shut again but I can see some fuzzy thing riding to stomp on us. I slip in about out of conscious.

I need to wake up.

I can feel someone smacking my checks to response.

Come on.

It hurts. The closer I get to waking up them more pain become present. Mostly in my right leg. A lot in my ankle and knee.

"Morro," That sounds like Wu. But like he's underwater. Fanding away.

My eyes close as I just want to sleep.

I need more sleep.

Why haven't I been sleeping well?

Because my evil father was resurrected. MY EVIL FATHER WAS RESURRECTED! I snap awake, seeing the moon's glow and the stars.

"Hey," Katara too sounds like she's underwater, "You're ok. He's waking up."

"What happened?" I clean my ears to no luck. I'm tucked behind an overturned car, "Kenneth..he" I look at the tower, "I should be dead."

Katara smooths my hair, "Agreed."

Sensei wipes away tears before looking for danger, "Your wind power came back. It's weak but slowed your fall."

"Then" I raise my palm, picturing Kenneth shooting off the roof like out of a cannon. Nothing. I growl as I slam my head back, "Gah!"

"Pactions."

My ankle won't stop throbbing and it feels like something's tied to it. I try looking down when Katara curls her fingers under my chin, pulling it for a kiss, "I know this will only want to make you look but don't look."

"It's bad isn't it?"

"Just don't look." She nods to Sensei, both start pulling me through a debris field.

Wasn't there more of us. It's hard to remember past MY FATHER kicking me off a 60 story building. I try holding up my head as a familiar stomping follows us, "Where's Clover? Miskaté?"

Katara moans as we duck into an ally with broken mirrors, "They....they didn't make it."

I'm failing and it's spiraling out of control.

Sensei leans me against a wall while pulling out a first aid kit, "This isn't-"

"It is." I could cry. This was supposed to be it. Take out Kenneth, everything falls. But all I did was get my friends killed. "It was my plan. My orders and now."

"I didn't mean dead," Katara forces my eyes to follow her, "They're alive but in Kenneth's private prison."

"We need to leave the city." Sensei gets up, satisfied with wrapping my ankle.

"What?" I buckle as I try standing on it, "No way."

"Not forever. Just to buy us time." Sensei throw the kit away, forcing my arm over his shoulders, "We'll come back. Better prepared and more people."

"How?" I wince as they slowly yet quickly hobble me down the street, "Everyone's captured, Kenneth has that monster and there's our Harumi problem."

"Hey," Katara looks around as we get over a bridge, "Ninja never quit. And we're not quitting. But we don't have a plan, no allies and you're injured. We'll come back. But when things have calmed down."

"Or-" Harumi's shrill voice echoes in her mask. She stands behind us, "You let your pathetic hope die. Turn yourselves in and accepts Lord Kenneth's reign."

"Go," Sensei passes me off to Katara. He glares as he twirls his staff, "Morro's bike should be nearby. Find it and ride away."

"No," I lean to him as Katara drags me, "Not without you."

"I'll be fine." He smirks while blocking Harumi from chasing us, "I've survived much worse."

Katara puts me over her shoulder, getting some speed but not much, "Come on."

"No," I'm bearly strong enough to fight back. I collapse as Katara find my bike. She revs it, forcing me to ride behind. She zips off.

No powers, no dragon, no friends. ANd it's all my fault.

I close my eyes, trying to block out my pain.

This is spiraling out of control. No brothers, no girls. And I promised them. I promised to watch over Ninjago and the girls.

And here I am, powerless, unable to transform, no allies, no place to hide and now no Sensei to guild me.

"Hey," Katara weaves between cars, running frozen red lights, "You're going to be ok."

"How?!" I don't mean to snap at her but I'm just so frustrated, "We have nothing. We are nothing. No sign of the girls or my brothers coming to the rescue. What could possibly make this situation better?"

She skids to a stop, force me to look into her tired yet intense eyes, "We have each other." She gently smiles while brushing my cheek, "And that's all we need for now."

"Aww," Ultraviolet walks in, wearing the mask of vengeance in time with Killow, wearing the mask of deception. His new power casts illusions, making hundreds of sons of garmadon appear. Ultraviolet draws her sia, holding four in four arms, "Lovers to the bitter end." She cackles as we're surrounded, "And I do mean bitter."
