Chapter eleven: are you afraid of me?
❀~~~~❀~~~~❀~~~~❀
Ⓕriday morning didn't seem like a normal Friday anymore; Yoongi had barely slept that night. He just couldn't handle the confusing - and abnormal - reality he had to face. He still couldn't believe it: Park Jimin was an angel? But that was impossible.
Nothing is impossible, kept on ringing in Yoongi's mind with Jimin's voice. And he couldn't help but believe it.
But what if he was just totally mental? What if he believed himself he was an angel but was just an ordinary person with a disorder? Wouldn't his family had helped him though if that was the case?
Yoongi messed up his hair in frustration. He'd wish Jimin would just talk to him, but he didn't, and it drove him mad.
As the human forced himself to go to the last day of school this week, he kept on observing around him as if someone was in the bushes to attack him. He couldn't be too careful, he thought, and therefore wanted to foresee if anyone would approach him - and that someone being Park Jimin.
When he found his English books for the classes before lunch, he had made up his mind: he didn't believe. No angels existed, nonetheless the one right in front of him. That was just absolutely ridiculous. Why would an angel keep being by his side? Was he good in his past life? He just couldn't accept that as a reality.
But when Park Jimin suddenly stood right behind him by his locker, he couldn't help but let out an unmanly scream, though tried to keep it coolly when students glanced his way.
"Yoongi," Jimin whispered lowly, though Yoongi tried to not meet his gaze.
He wasn't entirely sure what to say - and so seemed the angel to think as well, and was just speechless for the first time since he set his feet on Earth. "I don't believe," he found himself saying to the angel in front of him, whose eyes had stopped shining immediately at his comment. "I just don't."
"And I won't force you," Jimin whispered quietly, "but you can't stay away from me."
Yoongi's eyes furrowed. "Is that a threat?" he grunted.
The blond male shook his head. "It's a statement."
The human couldn't help but scuff, and then he passed him by bumping slightly onto the angel's shoulder when reaching their classroom.
English went as usual. Jimin sat beside Hoseok, Yoongi sat in the back, and Jungkook beside him again. Though his seatmate had been meeting his gaze more than usual, which made him curious enough to question it.
"Is there something wrong?" he asked.
Jungkook frowned back. "You could tell? Thought I was normal as usual," he said quietly as the class continued without Mrs Park noticing them whispering to each other.
"Not normal enough apparently," Yoongi commented, "what's up?"
"Just forget it. It's not my business," he remarked, though it made Yoongi's curiosity to grow.
"What? Is it about me?"
"Kind of," Jungkook hesitated, "are you and Jimin arguing?"
Yoongi's slight smile dropped. "You're right, it's not your business."
He tried to ignore his seatmate from now on, but Jungkook kept asking what made him childish enough to ignore the glances of the angel in front of him.
"You should stop acting like a kid and confront him," Jungkook had commented.
"And what would you know?" he growled back at him. "You don't know anything, so shut your mouth already!"
He didn't mean to sound so harsh as he did, but at least it made his seatmate to stop asking any further, though the glances from Jimin didn't stop, and he didn't know what he'd do in the break when he'd know the angel would approach him again.
"All right, now it's a ten minutes break, and next class we'll continue with literature. Class dismissed," Mrs Park announced, and before she completed her sentence, Jimin was already on his feet, hovering over Yoongi's desk with his burning stare down onto him.
"Can we chat for a moment, Yoongi?" he asked, and for a second, Yoongi felt himself shiver at how dangerous he seemed, and couldn't help but to nod.
When they stepped outside where there were no students around, Jimin finally spoke up again. "Are you afraid of me?" he asked, which made Yoongi snort slightly.
"Why would I be afraid of you?" he asked, trying to act tough - though, in reality, Yoongi was terrified. He didn't know what Jimin was, and he definitely didn't know what he was capable of when he was reminded how stronger he actually was than from what he seemed at first glance.
"You are," he said sadly. "I'd never hurt my human."
Yoongi's frown deepened. "Are you admitting what you are?" he asked with his eyes widening.
"I can't admit anything," Jimin whispered, so lowly the raven-haired boy almost had difficulties to hear him properly.
"Why? Will something happen?" he asked. He waited for an answer, but when he looked at the angel deeply in the eyes, he could see fear. "Something bad?" he tried.
Jimin nodded slowly. "Please don't ask me any direct questions. They're not always watching, but if I even mention...the words...that 'bad something' will happen. Please understand Yoongi," he nearly whimpered, "I need you to understand." Yoongi nodded along. He didn't want to part away from Jimin. He was so fond of him that he could be Satan himself and he would still end up falling for him.
Min Yoongi admitted it to himself. He had fallen for the angel, Park Jimin.
"Are you okay?" Yoongi found himself asking. He hadn't asked Jimin ever since he panicked, and he cursed himself for not doing, though he was worried to death. He didn't want Jimin to go. He didn't want anything bad to happen to him.
"As long as you are," he answered.
Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows. "Are you saying that because I'm worried, or because...literally?" He realised what he said didn't make much sense, but Jimin still nodded along.
"Both," he replied. "I am fine, so don't worry, and I never want you to worry about me. Let me protect you," he said.
Yoongi just nodded again, and this time they exchanged sincere smiles.
"About that kiss," Jimin suddenly commented, smirking like a little devil, "do you fancy me?"
Yoongi felt his face burning up. "I - I - I - " he stuttered, "I do not!"
"And you kissed me because you dislike me?" he smirked further. "Is that Min Yoongi logic?"
"Stop smirking already," Yoongi grunted. "And I don't need to explain myself to you."
"Of course you do," Jimin chuckled, "you kissed me, yeah? I do deserve an explanation, don't you think?" It was amusing to the angel to see his human this flustered, though he was slightly afraid if they kept talking about their shared sexual interaction, which was just literally a crime to angels. Did it mean they would come down to Earth at any moment to bring him to jail? Would he become a criminal angel? He didn't want that.
"But it's okay, Yoongi," Jimin said. "As long as it doesn't repeat itself."
Yoongi wasn't going to lie: that hurt.
He badly wanted to kiss Jimin again. He just wanted to kiss him all day. Maybe even all night.
"Why not?" he asked, carefully. "Do you not like me?"
Jimin tried to find his words carefully. "I like you Yoongi, but I'm not a normal person. I can't be more than your guardian," he said, though he was sad himself. He admitted if he was a normal human, he definitely wanted to be with Yoongi. He'd be allowed to kiss and hug him as long as he'd want to, but he wasn't.
"Yeah," Yoongi muttered disappointed, though he tried to remain his face as neutral as possible, though he fought hard back tears that were stinging through his eyes. "That's okay."
But it wasn't.
