DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN JUJUTSU KAISEN, ALL CREDIT GOES TO THE AUTHOR GEGE AKUTAMI-SENSEI.  I ONLY OWN THE PLOT OF THIS STORY.

Here's another chapter.  I think this will be the last one for right now.  I think?  I might end up changing my mind in the end though.

It's getting so close now to the main arc!!

Have you guys read the current chapters of the JJK manga?  It's getting amazing!

Anyways, sorry for any grammar or spelling errors.

Enjoy.

He didn't mind it, in fact he liked it.  For the past few weeks Shina had been following Yuuji around when he went out for his club "activities" which were more of him scouting out locations that were said to be haunted and going to tell his club members/friends of what he had found.

'Maybe she's bored?' He thought to himself.  Though he was curious if her club didn't have many activities, "Does you club have activities?" He had asked one day when they were standing in front of an old small, abandoned clinic.

"We don't do much there.  We just draw and sometimes share some techniques with each other for drawing with pencil, pastels and charcoal." She answered as she stood next to him, "It's not mandatory for us to be there every single day.  We need to be there at least four times a week, that's a secret though."

Yuuji nodded, "Got it."

Shina frowned, and regretted coming to this location as her eyes focused at the gate, "Are you going to go in?"

"Yep." He chirped, "Do you not like stuff like this?" He asked as he started to walk towards the building and noticed that Shina hadn't moved.

Shina smiled, "I don't particularly hate it." Her smile faltered as what she had been looking at jumped onto the gate and eyed them without moving.  The curse she was seeing was almost a medium sized one, but still on the smaller size.  It was one of the fast ones she had seen on various occasions.  They were easy to ignore and slightly easy get rid of with some effort, but that didn't stop the uncomfortable feeling of seeing it.  Or hearing it chattering some unintelligible things.  And how they sometimes tried to swipe at people nearby, sometimes causing small scratches to appear on people.

Curling up in bed sniffling, she tightly shut her eyes as the lights were turned on.

"Make sure to eat this, then drink your medicine.  Okay."  Yuuji said as if he were talking to a small child, as he set down a tray of rice porridge, water and medicine on the nightstand beside Shina's bed.

Her eyes cracked opened and in a raspy voice answered, "Okay."

For the past few days, Shina had had a sore throat, but last night she broke out in a fever.  And a cough (that she felt seemed more like a sick joke at how horrible it felt and sounded), had started early that morning.

Yuuji, before going to school had prepared her some porridge to eat throughout the day while he was away.  Wasuke would look after her during the day and bring her what she needed if she couldn't get it herself.

Shina hated it.  She easily got sick, while Yuuji hardly ever got sick.  The number of times he had gotten sick so far were easy to count on both hands.  While for her, she'd have to count every single finger and toe at least three times over or even more.

"Don't pick up anything strange." She croaked out as Yuuji was leaving the room.

"Yeah.  I'll try." He smiled.  He had heard her tell him this so many times that it felt as if she was trying to tell him to be careful, especially since she had been saying it since the beginning of the school year months ago.

Every day after school Yuuji would stop by her school to pick up her assignments of the day, something that she was grateful for since she didn't have to worry about assignments piling up.  But she also didn't like the fact that she had to work on assignments she didn't even understand since she didn't have any notes.

Though, her friends at school had given Yuuji some notes for her.  Notes that were too vague to understand.

"You have such nice friends." Yuuji commented once day as he opened his backpack and pulled out a blue notebook.

"Yeah." She felt really lucky to have such friends.

Two weeks.  It took two weeks for Shina to get over her cold.  A cold in spring.  Though the spring breeze could be cold as well, and she had no one to blame aside from herself who had ran out of the house late for school with still wet hair after a shower.

"Are you better now?" Her friends asked her when she walked into the classroom that morning with a rather big looking bag.

"Yeah." She nodded, "And thanks for the notes too." She said loud enough so those who had lent her notes could hear.

She set down her bag and handed back the notebooks to the people she had gotten from, and also pulled out a large stack of papers.

All of the assignments from the past two weeks.  At this moment, she regretted not having had Yuuji hand in her assignments as she finished them, but he was already doing too much for her with just picking up assignments for her.

'I know I'm going to fail them all.' She grimaced at the thought of all the red marks showing her mistakes on her papers.

Together they walked home as they always did.  Yuuji never really stayed for long in his club, just barely enough so their student council wouldn't notice he wasn't there.

Shina's Club activities were never long either.  Their club president didn't really require them to stay for the entire two hours.  All she required is that they finish and present what they had been assigned to do for practice or even fore club competitions.

As they neared their home, they were stopped by their neighbor, "Yuuji-kun! Shina-chan." She called out as she walked over to them.

"Good afternoon, Wakaba-san." They both greeted her, "Is something wrong?" Yuuji asked.

Wakaba-san nodded, "Earlier today your grandfather was taken to the hospital." She quickly said and told them which hospital he was taken to.

The Itadori siblings stood rooted in their place for a few seconds before thanking their neighbor, they turned around and quickly headed towards the hospital.

They left with their school bags along with them. It would have been too much of a hassle to get a taxi in such a small area, so it was much better to get there by foot.

At least for Yuuji it was, Shina was struggling to keep up with Yuuji. She wasn't as fast as him.

"Wait." She gasped out trying to catch her breath, "I don't have your monstrous strength." She took in gasping breaths.  Yes, she was more fit, but that was nothing compared to Yuuji.  She may be faster and a bit stronger than the others, a bit.  But Yuuji was still way beyond what she would have thought.

Yuuji turned and walked towards her and picked her up. One arm under her back, and the other under her knees. Surprisingly, she had made sure to get her skirt securely under his arm to keep her covered.

It didn't take long for them to get to the hospital.

When they walked in, the nurses, when they saw Yuuji walking in with Shina in her arms, they thought that she was injured and needed help.

"No, we're okay. We're just here to see our grandfather." Yuuji quickly told them, "His name is Itadori Wasuke." He elaborated.

The nurse at the front desk typed in the name and after a few seconds, she looked up at them and told them in which room he was in.

He didn't like the fact that his two grandchildren were fussing over him. Shina trying to make him as comfortable as possible, covering him with the blanket, making sure the pillow wasn't sliding off.

And Yuuji was pacing in the room, and asking questions at how he felt, if he needed something.

"Aren't you two supposed to be in school!" Wasuke almost yelled, already fed up with all the fussing around.

"Today our clubs weren't that long."

Yuuji nodded with what Shina had said, "We already finished for the day." He lied

With a grumble he settled into his bed and watched as his two grandchildren sat on either side of the bed of him.

They all talked for a bit, before the nurse came in to check up on Wasuke.

"Is he okay?" Yuuji asked the nurse.

The nurse looked at him for a few seconds before checking the monitor and writing down his vitals, "He's better. But he just has a bit of a high blood pressure. He'll have to stay here for a while, his heart doesn't seem to be doing very well."

The siblings listened intently to the nurse, "Is there something we should do?" Shina asked.

"Let him get some rest. And don't stress him out so much." She answered back

The days passed, and they each visited their grandfather. Wasuke was annoyed at times, but he didn't hate it.

Shina would sometimes bring him some meals she made at home, and Yuuji would on occasion bring him some flowers.

"They're for the nurses, not for you." Yuuji muttered as he put the flowers in the vase by the window.

Shina flinched; she knew those words. She knew what was coming next.

Her eyes began to sting with forming tears.  And even more so, since she hadn't found the finger she was so desperately looking for.

"Yuuji, Shina.... I have something to say in my last moments." Wasuke said as he leaned against his pillows, "It's about your parents-"

Yuuji cut him off, "It's fine, I'm not interested."

Wasuke looked at Shina waiting to see if she wanted to know, "What last moments. You still have a long way to go. You can tell us when you get out of the hospital." Shina barely managed to get out a smile.

She already had an idea of what he wanted to tell them both.  The truth of their parents, more specifically of who their mother was.

Not satisfied, Wasuke raised his voice, "It's about your parents!"

"I said I'm not interested. Even Shi-chan said she'll listen when your discharged from the hospital." Yuuji sighed and looked at their grandfather, "Can you not try to look cool before you die, please?"

"Like you've always been fine." Yuuji muttered.

Wasuke felt himself tremble in anger and frustration, "Y - you...." He finally burst out, "Men want to act cool when they die, you know. Read the damn mood."

Wasuke sighed finally getting what he felt out of his chest, "Don't buy flowers every time, save up your money." Wasuke looked at them both, "What about school club? Don't play hooky in a place that smells like disinfectant." He scolded.

"We're not Grandpa," Shina reassured him as she pat his hand.

With a huff of annoyance, Wasuke laid on his side and turned his back to Yuuji and Shina, "Yuuji, you're strong, so help people." He paused for a few seconds, "Shina, you take care of your brother.  Help him."

"It's fine if all you do is reach out a hand. Just help people whenever you can. Die being surrounded by a crowd. Don't become like me."

He drifted off to silence. Some may think that he fell asleep, but Shina knew better.

Her lips trembled as she clenched her hands tightly together. She was glad that her back was towards Yuuji.

"Grandpa?" Yuuji called out as he got closer to Wasuke. No answer.

As he got closer, he noticed that his wasn't breathing, and Shina was silently crying.

It dawned on him, Itadori Wasuke had died.

"Yes, what's wrong?"

Yuuji stayed silent for a while.

"Itadori-san?"

Yuuji gripped the phone tighter as his voice cracked, "My grandpa died."

Shina finally let out a sob as she grabbed a hold of Wasuke's still warm hand. She squeezed it, hoping that by some miracle things would change, and he would wake up.

"Yes. With this, these are all the documents we need." The nurse at the front desk said as she watched Yuuji fill out the necessary documents.

"Alright. Thank you for your help." He thanked her.

"Are you really okay?"

Yuuji kept writing on the paper, "If I cry to no end, Grandpa would cut me off. And besides I think Shi-chan has cried enough for the both of us." He glanced back at Shina who was sitting at one of the empty chairs.

"Itadori Yuuji." A voice called out.

Yuuji looked up towards the voice, "Hm?"

A boy dressed in a black uniform walked up to him, "I'm Fushiguro from the jujutsu high school. Sorry, but I don't have much time."

Yuuji walked away from the front desk and towards Fushiguro.

"The cursed object you have is very dangerous. Hand it over right now."

Yuuji was confused, "Cursed object?"

Fushiguro pulled out his phone, "This. You have it, don't you."

Yuuji squinted his eyes at the phone looking at the picture he was being shown, "Hm? Oh that! Yeah, I found it." He exclaimed. "I don't mind handing it over, but my fellow club members have taken a like it. At least give me a reason."

Fushiguro stayed quiet for a few seconds, "The number of people who die mysteriously or go missing is, on average, over a thousand a year. This is mostly due to the negative feelings that pour out of humans. The harm varies by 'curse'."

"Curse?" Yuuji rubbed the back of his head.

"I don't care if you believe it or not. In particular places a lot of people hold memories or like schools and hospitals are where the curse easily drifts to. Hardship, regret, shame. Each time human beings ruminate over those memories the curse becomes the receiving plate of those emotions. That's why there is usually a cursed charm 'talisman' at school. That's the object you picked up."

"Talisman?" Yuuji repeated, "Isn't that a good thing?  How's that dangerous?"

"A talisman sounds harmless enough.  But the more evil placed on a cursed object, the more it deflects other curses.  Using poison to fend of poison." Fushiguro told him, "After many years, the seal weakens and the talisman essentially changes form.  Then it attracts curses and feeds on them."

Yuuji listened on as Fushiguro continued, "Compared to other cursed objects, the one placed at your school is extremely dangerous and is categorized as special grade." He pointed a finger at Yuuji, "Now, before anyone dies hand it over."

After letting out a sigh, Yuuji rummaged around his pocket.  He tossed to box at Fushiguro, "Like I said, I don't care."

Fushiguro caught the box and opened it.  The box was empty, there was nothing inside, 'It's empty?!' His looked at the empty box in surprise, 'What I chased here .... was the cursed energy .... lingering in the box?!'

He quickly looked up at Yuuji, "Where are the contents?!" He grabbed a hold of Yuuji's sweater as he yelled at him.

"Like I said! The occult research club has it!" Yuuji yelled back.

"Where do the members live?!" Fushiguro asked.

Yuuji thought for a second, "Not sure .... somewhere over in the Izumi Distri .... " Yuuji stopped talking as he remembered ....

"What's wrong?"

.... That the contents of the box were at school, "Oh right. They did say they would unseal the talisman tonight in school." Yuuji said, "Don't tell me this is bad?"

"It's beyond bad. They'll die."

As you may have already noticed, I'm going to be going back and forth in how it's written and shown in the manga and anime.  I still remember how some of the things played out in the anime, but in the manga since I can just flip through the first volume I have here and open up my phone for the other chapters to read through them.

So, for the future chapters, I'll be going more with the manga, but it will still be the same.  The only difference will be small things, like in the anime they were sitting while they said something but, in the manga, let's say they were standing while that was said.  That would really be the difference.

What did you think of this chapter?  Was it okay?

So, that's it for now.  Hope you enjoyed it.
