Chapter 8: Beginning
DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN JUJUTSU KAISEN, ALL CREDIT GOES TO THE AUTHOR GEGE AKUMATI-SENSEI. I ONLY OWN THE PLOT OF THIS STORY.
In two days "Spy X Family" anime is airing! I'm so excited for April 9th. I love that series, it's so cute and funny. I'm just counting down the days. The same for "Ascendance of a Bookworm" which is airing on the 12th of this month as well. I'm currently reading the novel of that one, since the manga is pretty slow on updating. I've read a couple spoilers of what happen, and it's shocking but interesting at the same time.
Anyways, I'm sorry for any grammar or spelling errors.
Enjoy.

Yuuji groaned as he felt someone shake him, trying to wake him up.
"Yuu-ni! You have to get up. We're going to be late for school!" Another push came after that.
Yuuji groaned one last time and got up, "I'm going. I'm tired Shi-chan." Yuuji sighed as he stretched and got up from his bed walking around Shina who was sitting on his bed.
Yuuji was now fifteen years old, and Shina was twelve years old.
Yuuji in his first year of high school, and Shina in her first year of middle school.
Shina sighed and stood up straightening her skirt, "Breakfast is on the table." She said as she walked out of the room and closed the door.
After their parents died, Yuuji and Shina had moved in to live with their grandfather. Their childhood home wasn't sold, but it was now empty. The house was under the name of their parents, grandfather and both Yuuji and Shina.
At their death, a large amount of money from their insurance was given to Wasuke. It was enough to probably get them all the way through university.
During breakfast as they ate, their grandfather asked them both if they thought of what club they would join.
"I know both your schools require all students to join an after-school club." Wasuke said as he ate, clearly eyeing both kids to make sure they were paying attention to him.
"I want to join the art club. I like drawing." Shina said quickly as she picked up her glass of milk
She did like drawing. It became a hobby of hers after she was fully able to keep a steady hand as she drew. She would draw flowers, that would look more like some monster, people, and animals. Over time as she kept drawing over and over, she got slightly better.
But not good enough. There was something that she wanted to draw more than ever. She wanted to draw a good picture of her family. Of their grandfather, Yuuji, their parents and Shina herself. All together.
Wasuke nodded, "Yuuji." He called out waiting for his response.
Yuuji sheepishly laughed, "I'm not sure yet. I'll look at the clubs today. I promise."
"You're not going to go into sports?" Shina questioned. In middle school, Yuuji was in sports, he was pretty good at it. He had even gotten the nickname of "The Tiger of West Junior High" a nickname that still makes Shina laugh, and one she will never stop using on Yuuji.
Yuuji sighed and shook his head, "Nah. I want to try something else."

They walked to school, Yuuji dropped Shina off at her school before heading to his.
"I'll stop by for you after school." Yuuji called out to Shina as he waved at her.
"Okay." Shina smiled at Yuuji.
Yuuji Leaned closer to Shina, "You remember where my school is right? If anything happens and you need to leave school, come find me at school. Okay."
Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, Shina nodded, "I know Yuu-ni. You've told me so many times already. To avoid strangers, always walk in an area where there are people, never walk into alleys, and if I have to leave school early to go find you at school, or to go to Wakaba-san's house if I can."
Yuuji nodded, "Okay."
With that Shina turned waved at Yuuji, "See you later Yuu-ni."
Yuuji waved back and watched after her, as she walked into the building. Shina was his world; he would look after her to make sure that she was alright.

With a huff of distaste, Shina looked into her shoe locker and saw a small, cursed spirit. Over the years she had gotten used to seeing them. Though sometimes they did spook her when they randomly popped out from nowhere.
But other than that, she was no longer afraid of them, at least not afraid of the smaller ones.
She furrowed her brows and concentrated on the spirit and watched it as it burned away into dust.
It took years to barely even use some cursed energy and get rid of the spirits. With ease, she could get rid of the smaller ones, but the larger ones were a true hassle. She tried to avoid them as best she could. At one time, she had gotten a bit too arrogant at being able to use cursed energy and the fact that a spirit was getting nearby Yuuji, she used her energy against that spirit.
To say it got riled and wanted to attack them was an understatement. Shina had convinced Yuuji to run home with her as a contest to see who got home the fastest. It took a while, but she was able to get rid of the spirit.
Since then, she has tried her best to avoid them. She still trained herself in getting used to use her cursed energy.

Yuuji walked down the hallway trying to find his classroom, looking up at the class numbers one by one.
Eventually he found his class, class 1-C. Once entering, he looked around to look for the desk with his name on it.
He didn't have to wait long, because soon after sitting down, the teacher walked into the classroom.
All the students stood up and bowed to the teacher, "Good morning."
"Good morning class, I'm your homeroom teacher Abe-sensei." She said as she set her class register on the podium, "I'm going to calling your names, once your name is called, please say 'here'."
She opened her notebook, picked up a pencil, and began calling the names of the students. At each student responding or not responding, she wrote down on her notebook whether the student was present or absent.
Once she finished, she picked up a stack of papers, "I know that all of you must have gotten a booklet of the school rules at the entrance ceremony. But this here is the class rules." She handed a stack of papers to each row of tables for them to hand down to the next student.
"In this syllabus, you'll see the way assignments are graded, class rules, such as no bullying, no putting gum under the tables, not throwing things at each other. Other than those rules you'll see there, I have no problem with the other things you do." She sighed, "And as you'll know, this school day will be fairly short, homeroom will be over in a bit. I'm just here to introduce you to what you need to know. And soon after your other teachers will be coming in. After that, you must go apply to a club. Alright."
With that, Abe-sensei excused herself from the class, and soon enough the other teachers walked in and explained almost the same thing that their homeroom teacher had.

Leaning back onto his chair he sighed already feeling tired. Especially since now everyone in class was getting to know each other, and the beginning of making friends in their class began. He had talked to a few of his classmates, they were nice.
'Well time to look around to see which club to find.' He grabbed his bag and walked out of the classroom and headed out to where all the second and third years were with their club members and pamphlets trying to recruit new students.
He passed by a table with two students, "Join our Occult Club." The girl said as she walked up to Yuuji, "You don't even have to participate in club activities. A ghost member."
At this Yuuji's ear perked up, "A ghost member." He muttered, "Alright!" He quickly went and filled out a club form and handed it to the girl.

After all the students had chosen their clubs, they either stayed and talked to them, or left the school and headed home.
Yuuji was one of the ones who left school. He wanted to go pick up Shina.
His phone vibrated in his pocket, "Yuu-ni, are you done at your school? I just finished."
Yuuji read the text he had just received from Shina, "I'm done. I'm heading over to your school." He responded back.

The siblings walked side-by-side as they walked home. Each talking about how their day was, and what they thought of their club.
"The art club seems like it'll be nice. The club president is really nice too." Shina said as she turned her head towards Yuuji.
Yuuji smiled, "That's good. I joined the occult club, it seemed.... interesting." Yuuji said, avoiding in telling her that he would just be a club member in name and didn't actually have to participate in club activities.
Shina nodded, "Sounds fun."

She tapped her finger on the kitchen table as they sat down and ate their diner, 'It's almost time for that to happen.' She thought to herself, 'But when?'
It was almost time for when Yuuji eats Sukuna's finger. If only she knew the exact date for when it was, or rather she could warn him about not picking up weird boxes.
"Yuu-ni."
Yuuji looked up from his bowl, "Hm."
"Don't pick up weird small boxes. They could have nasty stuff in it." Shina said.
Yuuji frowned in confusion, "Boxes. Why would I pick up boxes?"
She looked away from him, "Maybe it looked interesting? Or maybe someone asks you to find it?"
Yuuji shook his head, "You're pretty odd, but fine. I won't."
She pursed her lips, "And don't eat it."
Yuuji burst out in laughter, "Why would I eat it? I'm not an animal."
Shina hoped that Yuuji wouldn't pick up the box. She really hoped so. But she knew him too well, and he was surely bound to find it. Or maybe this world wanted to further mess with her and make him find and get that box as he originally was meant to.
'Guess I'll have to go find it before he does.' She mused to herself as she glanced at Yuuji.
Wasuke watched the odd conversation between the two as he continued to eat his meal.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
It was much harder than she thought it would be. Shina thought that it would be easy to find the box containing Sukuna's finger. It would have been, if it weren't for the fact that Yuuji wanted to tag along out of curiosity since Shina had no actual reason to be there in the first place.
"Why would you need to go there?" He had asked when he found out that Shina was going to be around his school.
"I'm .... going for a walk." She quickly thought of an excuse. An excuse she had to put into action even without intending to.
~Time Skip (Months later)~
'Does the universe hate me? Is this world trying to prevent me from changing the course of the original plot?' She placed her head on her desk with a sigh, 'Why can't I find the freaking box!!' She screamed to herself in frustration.
For the past couple of months, she had been searching high and low for that box, but she couldn't find it. On many of those "walks" Yuuji had gone along with her, and neither saw such a thing. She spent all of the Fall season looking, and when winter came, she couldn't go out as much as she did before. Considering that Yuuji and Wasuke warned her constantly of the dangers of walking around on the hills in the snow, since she could fall with the snow covering many of the inclines or holes.
So, she reluctantly stopped her search. Though the only thing she could be thankful for, in a way, was that she had gotten more fit than she ever had been so far.
Was it odd that after living in the same town for so many years, they couldn't find it?*
She let out a long sigh, 'I'll just have to ask Yuu-ni about his club, and maybe if I can go with him when he goes to find it.' It was already the spring semester, and she knew that the time was coming up quick.
Hearing her sigh, her classmates looked at her before turning away continuing their own talk during lunch break. Though some of her friends went up to her setting her lunch pouch on Shina's desk, "Shina-chan, is something wrong?"
Shina turned her head, still on her desk, and glanced at her friend, "Hi Emi-chan. No, everything is okay." She smiled, "I just can't find something I've been looking for. Though I'm sure I'll find it later."
Emi nodded while tucking a strand of her dark-brown hair behind her ear, "True. I hate when that happens, you're looking for something and can't find it even though you've looked everywhere. And then when you don't need it, gave up looking for it, or forgot about it, you end up finding it." She shrugged, "You'll find it soon."
Shina closed her eyes with a sigh, "Yeah. I hope so."
'I hope I find it before he does. I'll change the beginning of all this.' She silently hoped and prayed.

* I've been living in the town I'm in for a long time. And I still don't know where places are. Well, if you tell me an address, I won't know at all. I'm one of those that you have to tell if there is a building near it, and what color it is.
I remember a few years ago, my mom and I were going to church. We parked at the post office which is basically across the street from it. And we were walking to the church when we were stopped by a couple in a truck. They asked us if we knew where F street was, and I didn't know. So, I told them I didn't. Minutes later, when we were sitting inside the church, I looked around and I saw that couple.
It wasn't until later, that I saw that the church is on F street .... they were looking for the church.
SO, that's it for now. Hope you enjoyed it.
