Chapter 6: Itchy Eyes
DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN JUJUTSU KAISEN, ALL CREDIT GOES TO THE AUTHOR GEGE AKUMATI-SENSE. I ONLY OWN THE PLOT OF THIS STORY.
I think this will be the last chapter I'll post for today, though I want to post the others. But if I do that, I'll end up updating everything I have. And I already made a plan to change some of the chapters I have typed up.
Enjoy.

Her eyes itched. No matter how many times she rubbed at her eyes, the itch just wouldn't go away.
"Do you think it's an eye infection?" Jin asked his wife as he looked down at Shina's bloodshot red eyes. Her eye lids and under eyes were red and swollen, just as the whites of her eyes where a dark pink almost bloody red.
"Maybe" She answered back, "I'll make an appointment." She said as she went to the phone and call the doctor's office to make an appointment.
They could hear her talking a few seconds later.
"Don't scratch at your eyes okay." Jin said to Shina when he saw that she brought her hands up to rub at her eyes, "It'll hurt your eyes."
She nodded, but it hurt and itched so much.
~Time Skip (Next Day)~
After a day of torture with itchy and aching eyes, they were finally at the doctor's office.
"Can you turn this way." The doctor said with a gentle smile, "I'm going to look at your eyes for a bit."
Shina looked up at her mother who was holding her, "It's okay." Shina looked back at the doctor and turned the way he wanted her to.
After a few seconds of looking at her eyes, the doctor sat up, "It's just some eye irritation. Could be dust, or even an eyelash that got in her eye. Do you have any pets she may be allergic to?" He asked.
"No." Her mother said.
The doctor nodded, "I'll prescribe her some eye drops." He took out his note pad and scribbled a bit before handing the paper to her mother, "And for this little big girl for being brave, she gets this." He opened his drawer and pulled out a lollipop and handed it to Shina.

The eye drops seemed to have helped, but something was odd. She had begun to see weird shadows in the house and mostly outside.
'Do I have a sixth sense; am I going to be seeing dead people now?!' Shina panicked. She didn't want to see the dead. The thought alone scared her. She was into the paranormal in her previous life, but one thing is watching and reading about paranormal cases, and another thing is experiencing it for themselves.*
It was scary enough to hear encounter stories of people who can see the dead, and the recreation videos, and even actual footage of those paranormal things.
She didn't want to see that!
'First, I die! I'm reborn into Jujutsu Kaisen where I have to think of protecting my family and hope I don't get killed by some cursed spirit! And now I'm going to be seeing the dead!' She internally cried, 'Does that mean I'll be able to see the devil...?' She paled at the thought and slumped onto her purple pillow seat in despair.
She could only hope that it could be some effect of the eye drops and would soon go away after she finished using them.
That hope was shattered a week later when she woke up to the most terrifying sight that made her cry out in fear.
Leaning over her crib on a sunny Saturday morning in May, there was a monster looking down at her. More specifically a cursed spirit.
The first to run into the room of her mother, though from what she heard, she heard her mother's steps falter a bit before running to her crib.
As soon as her mother came to the crib, the cursed spirits vanish out of sight.
Even though it was gone, it didn't stop the fear she felt. It didn't stop the violent shaking of her small body.
Even though she buried her face into her mother neck and closed her eyes, she could still see that terrifying thing in her mind.
After that morning, Shina didn't want to be alone anymore. She had previously been rather okay with having her own room, but she no longer wanted to be alone.
Her family had seemed to see her discomfort of being alone, so they moved her crib into Yuuji's room.
There's was nothing Yuuji could do if that spirit showed up again, but at least she wasn't alone anymore. That was her comfort as of now.
~Time Skip~
Days, weeks, and months passed by in a blink of an eye.
More often than not, Shina would see those cursed spirits everywhere outside. Mostly all of them were small ones. From what she remembered hearing and reading in Jujutsu Kaisen, most of those were one that would cause headaches, body aches and even mood changes on people.
But there were the occasional larger ones that she would rather not see ever again.
It was almost Yuuji's sixth birthday. It was March 10th, only ten more days until his birthday. They were all excited for the day.
Aside from going out today to buy some items to decorate for Yuuji's birthday, they also planned to buy a new potty-training toilet for Shina, since she had outgrown the one they had bought for her previously.
It had been a few months since she last wore a diaper, she now wore "big girl" underwear as her family called it. But it was in reality just those diaper underwear she could slip off. Though during the night, she did wear a diaper just in case she was too wet herself during sleep. She was more than happy to have them off, she was finally free of having to have someone change her diaper. She would have wanted to leave them much earlier, but her parents took their time in potty training her, not like she needed it to begin with.
But no one would have expected what was to happen in a matter of hours.

He turned on the car after buckling himself in, "We're ready to go now." He said to his family.
"Yeah." Yuuji chirped out.
The drive was longer than usual, considering that it was farther away from the mall they had previously gone to.
According to their parents, the stores in the mall didn't have all the things they needed, so they were going a bit farther to buy them.
The drive was silent, only the light sound of the radio playing some of the songs from a cartoon soundtrack, and the occasional talk between their parents.
A resounding sound startled them, and a flash of light sparked the darkening sky.
Their mother looked out the window, "Do you think we should go back before the weather gets worse?"
Jin pursed his lips and nodded, "We can always go some other day. At the next exit I'll turn back before the roads get slippery." He turned on the car lights to light the road.
He drove on until the exit came into view, he turned on the turn signal in the car.
The next thing they knew, the car began to swerve, and startled screams and shouts began.
"Hold on tight!"
Lightening lit the place, and her once itchy eyes widened in fear as what she saw.
A cursed spirit.

* A couple years ago my mom once told me, "Why do you watch those shows? Aren't you scare?" She was referring to the paranormal shows I watched. I watched and still watch "Ghost Adventures" and I also read a lot of stories online about paranormal encounters. And so, I answered by saying, "Because it's not happening to me."
Years later when I had my own experiences, I regretted having said that before. It's terrifying!
ANYWAYS.
What did you think of this chapter? It's almost time for the main arc to start! Almost, but not yet.
So, that's it for now. Hope you enjoyed it.
