Chapter 2: Birth

DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN JUJUTSU KAISEN, ALL CREDIT GOES TO THE AUTHOR GEGE AKUMATI-SENSEI.  I ONLY OWN THE PLOT OF THIS STORY.

The first chapter left off on a pretty heavy note didn't it.  I kind of shocked myself at how intense it had gotten.  But it was all for the plot, though I do feel kind of bad about it.

Anyways, I hope you guys like this chapter.

Enjoy.

All she had felt minutes ago was pain.  Every single part of her body had hurt, though right at this moment she couldn't feel that searing pain.

Though there were times where she thought she felt that pain.

'Phantom pain, was it?' She remembered hearing before of people feeling pain on old wounds or in places or an arm or leg used to be, and that pain being called a phantom pain, since that part was no longer there.

'Am I in the hospital?' She mused to herself, 'But I don't hear anything?  Coma?  Or maybe they thought I was dead, and they put me in the hospital morgue!' She panicked, 'I can't feel my body.  I can't move!'

She thought of the many cases where people were put into the hospital morgue thinking they were dead, and even cases where people had been buried alive.

But those thoughts were soon dispelled as she felt pain shoot through her body as she felt something pressing on her.  At this moment she was sure that even though she couldn't move, she could still feel.  Maybe it was that she was in a comatose state.  Wouldn't surprise her considering how much blood she lost.  Maybe it was the medication to sedate her from waking up?

'Are mom and dad here?' She hoped that once she opened her eyes, she would see her parents.  She didn't care if they yelled at her for being careless, for not having gone to the neighbor's house since she was going to be alone that night.  If they cried in frustration at themselves for not being home.  All she wanted was to see her parents.

The pressure grew more, as she felt herself being pulled at.

Once the pressure and pulling stopped, she felt so cold.  Wherever she had been was most likely warm, because now she was hit with such cold air that it made her want to shudder.

She felt hands around her body.  Feeling oddly large hands rubbing at her face.  She even felt something being shoved into her mouth and something being pulled out of it.

At the feeling of the discomfort, she felt a cry leave her mouth, but that cry soon stopped, 'Whose baby is crying so close?' The short cry of a baby caught her off guard.

She was pretty sure that the only person she knew that had a baby was her cousin, but she was in France at the moment, and she doubted her cousin would be there so quick to see her, 'Unless I've been out for a couple of days?'

She tried to open her eyes but failed.  She felt something warm wrap around her and lift her up.

Her mind felt as if it were shut down.  How was a sixteen-year-old, five-foot five-inch (166 cm) girl weighing 130 lbs (58 kg) be able to be carried by a pair of hands?!

Once again, she tried to open her eyes but failed once again.  She felt as if they had been glued shut.

As she panicked, she could hear voices.  Foreign and unknown voices.  She felt herself being handed to someone else.  Smaller hands held her now, gently holding her in their arms and someone touching her cheeks.

She knew for a fact that they weren't speaking English, Spanish or French, the languages she was fluent in.  But she was sure without a doubt, that they were speaking Japanese.

She wasn't as fluent in Japanese as the other languages she knew.  She barely understood enough to be able to introduce herself, greet someone, ask for directions, and ask how much something costs.  She didn't know enough to carry out a full-on conversation with someone.

But she was able to understand a few words.

Baby.  Girl.  Daughter.  Mom.  Dad.

"Itadori Shina."  A feminine voice said near her.

Her world shattered and slowly succumbed into a darkness she happily greeted wanting to leave this place.

When she came back to her sense for the second time, she still couldn't open her eyes.  But she was aware that her surroundings were different.

The first time she woke up after fainting, she had woken up with the sounds of other babies crying.  At this moment she had realized that it wasn't merely a dream, that she in fact was a baby.

There was no doubt in her mind that she had died and had been reborn.  And clearly in a different country as well.

It was still something hard to get used to.  It was painful to think about her death, to accept that she had died and was reborn.  She wished and hoped that it was a dream, that it was all a hallucination from the medication from all the blood loss and pain.  In those times she would cry out in frustration and sadness.  She wanted to go home; she couldn't accept this no matter how much the reality was shoved to her face.

But that denial soon turned into despair and finally she was beginning to accept it after the many times of being held, having the feeling of discomfort when she clearly soiled herself and had to be changed.  Of the times she had to be fed.

And now she was sure that she was in her "new home" given that the "bed" felt different, and there were no crying babies.  The only sounds that could be heard were the voices of what could possibly be her new parents, and another child.  As well as the voice of an older man.

The most frequent sound was the pitter patter of small footsteps running to and from the room, and the sound of the voice of the other child.

She couldn't really understand what the child said, but it was nice to hear.  She didn't like the sound of a quiet room; it made her think too much of her life before this one of her family.

And besides she liked and found it endearing to her the child's voice stutter out a word as if they themselves were barely able to speak for themselves.  Even their footsteps sounded clumsy.

She wasn't sure how long it had been, but she was sure it had been a while.  She was now fully able to open her eyes.  Before, she could barely open it a bit.

But her sight was still a bit blurry, she could see the figures of the people who came to her room.  Could see the figure of the person reaching into her crib to pick her up.

And from her peripheral vision, she would catch the sight of pink hair barely at the bars of her crib.

"Yuuji, do you want to see your little sister?" A man asked, her new father she found out later on.

She was now able to slightly understand them better, given that she had nothing else to do but listen to people and try to understand what they were saying.  And the fact that sometimes the father would try to teach some English words to the smaller child, and chuckle at the attempts of a three-year-old trying to even speak at all.

Though it was obvious that the others in the house thought it was too early for him to fully understand.

'A child learns things easier at a younger age.' She mentally sighed.

The man sat on the chair with her in his arms, and soon after the smiling face of her older brother was in front of her face.  He would grab her small hands and touch her cheeks.

"She's squishy." He said to her father without looking away from her.

The father chuckled, "Yuuji, that's how babies are.  You were like that too."

She had always wondered if Yuuji was a common name, but what confused her was the surname.

On the day of her "birth" she had heard a woman said 'Itadori Shina' and then this older brother of hers introduced himself to her as 'Itadori Yuuji' it sure was one crazy coincidence.

The thought of even thinking of being reborn into a fictional world as Jujutsu Kaisen was ridiculous.  Once thing is rebirth, which she believed could be possible.  But the chance of a fictional world to be real and for her to be there.  It was insane.  So that thought was discarded from her mind.

At least it should have.  But once her vision had cleared up and she saw her new parents and who she presumed to be her grandfather, her thoughts began to be doubtful.

They looked to eerily similar.  Her father looked just like Itadori Jin, but she could say she wasn't sure since she had only seen him in one panel in the manga.  But the grandfather, she was certain he looked just like Itadori Wasuke.

And the mother.  Even though she didn't hear her name said much, she could not forget nor mistake those stitch marks on her forehead.*

She was an unexpected variable born into Jujutsu Kaisen.  A child who should have not been given birth to in this world.  Itadori Shina, the younger sister of Itadori Yuuji.

Second chapter done.  What did you think of it?  I liked it so far.

* Maybe be a small little snip from the manga.  Don't pay it much attention, since it's not really important at the moment.  For the manga readers, try to keep the manga spoils low, especially about the current chapters in the manga.

I'm trying to publish as much as the chapters I can of what I have so far.

And yes, I'll also be working on my other work, specifically on "Guardians Undercover" I hope I can get the next chapter of it up soon.

So, that's it for now.  Hope you enjoyed it.
