Kaneki's POV

I lied on my bed, rethink about the words that Tsukiyama said.

"They'll come with no mercy.", his words echoing inside my mind.

"I have to become stronger....or else I lose...", I said in my mind. I continued to roll on the bed, force myself to sleep.

I got up, went up to the roof. I found a place the sat down. I stared at the sky, stars are shining, planes are flying. Looked towards the city, although it's almost midnight, traffic seems haven't change a bit but this place is like a ghost town after midnight. I stared blankly at the distance until......

Boom! Arrrggghhh!!!

A loud voice and groaned came from Touka's room, almost make me fell off the roof. I released my kagune, hanging upside down (Spiderman style XD) outside the open window located at her room.

The violet-haired girl sat right at her desk, doing her homework. I let out a little smirk. It's quite an enjoyment watching her battling with her homework.

I felt a little dizzy after spending a long period of time upside down. I accidentally slipped and hit the wall.
Touka spend no time whipped her head back and threw a pen at me. I swiftly caught in but my kagune lose grip and fell 2-story to the ground.

"OH SHIT!!! AHHHHHHH!!! OUCH!!!", I slammed to the ground, groaned in pain.

"YOU PERVERT!!! GET WHAT YOU DESERVE!!!", she placed her head out of the window and yelled.

"Hey....Touka-chan, it's me....", I lied on the ground, weakly said.

"Huh? Kaneki!?", she yelled in surprise.

I got up, swiped away the dust and dirt and using my kagune to climb into her room.

"Ouch! That hurts.....", I said as I lied on the floor.

She just stood right there, using her deadly glare at me.

"Why you're here....?", she coldly asked.

"Just now I'm at the roof enjoying the view and I heard a loud voice coming from your room so.....I decided to have a look then this happen.....", I said.

"Oh really......pervert...", she teased me.

"Seriously....yeah, so why's the groaning?", I said

"Nothing, just some math question bothering me.", she replied.

"Let me see, maybe I know how to do it.", I got up, went to her desk and looked at the question.

"Fine....", she reluctantly said.

"Emm....I think I know how to it."

"Huh seriously, that fast...", she said surprisingly.

"Come here, so this is how you do it....", I sat down with Touka and thought her patiently.

--Few minutes later--

"Taa Daa~ There you have it. Understand?"

"Whoa....you're a genius....", she said in surprise.

"It's nothing...", I awkwardly scratched the back of my head.

"How about this...and this and .... maybe this?", she asked.

"Okay...let's have a look."

--An hour later--

"Yay! Finally finish these things!", she said.

"*yawn*...Worth a celebration, huh?", I said.

"Eh? Aren't you have to work tomorrow? It's already 1am.", she said.

"What! Already 1am?", I yelled.

"Sorry for bothering you and..... thanks Kaneki.", she said.

"No...I'm the one who should apologize, peeping you though the window late at night.", I said.

"Well, you've admit it.....pervert...", she rolled her eyes and kicked me in the leg.

"Ouch, that hurts, Touka-chan.", I said as I rubbed my leg.

"So.....get out...", she jokingly said.

"I'm totally should. Goodnight, Touka-chan.", I said before I leave her room.

"Goodnight, Kaneki.", she replied.

Touka's POV

"Why I'm so nervous? Why my heart beating so fast? ", I asked myself, I looked at the mirror, my face is blushing.

"What is this feeling? I....like him? Nah, there's no way I'll like him. Screw it, I'm going to sleep.", I mumbled.

--Few days later--

"Oh Kaneki-kun, can you help me to buy some coffee beans, we're running low in stock.", Yoshimura said.

"Oh okay...", I replied.

"And your shift ends when you come back.", the manager said.

I went back to my room, changed from my uniform to casual clothing, as always, all black. I went out, the sky is in raging red. The sun is setting.

"I have to be careful, although they don't know who am I from the hair colour change.", I said in my mind.

I went to a store that the manager told me and asked the employee.

"Coffee beans for Anteiku. Please.", I said.

"Wait a minute, there you have it.", he placed two bags of coffee beans on the counter.

"Thanks.", I paid and I leave the store.

I walked along the aisle until I reached a high school. Students are coming out since the lesson is over.

"Kiyomi High School, emm...if I'm not mistaken Touka-chan study in this school, right?", I said in my mind.

As I walked, a violet-haired girl exited the school with a hazelnut colour haired girl.

"Hey Touka-chan!", I yelled behind them.

Both of them turned their head and noticed me.

"Oh....hey Kaneki....Why you're here?", Touka said.

"Buy coffee beans for Anteiku.", I said.

"Mmm...Touka-chan...I hope I don't disturb you two, bye bye! By the way, my name is Yoriko Kosaka, Touka-chan's boyfriend.", her friend said.

"Hey Yoriko! He's not my boyfriend! Yoriko!", she yelled.

"Bye! Enjoy yourself Touka-chan!", Yoriko said as she ran away.

I stood right there, until she turned her head back and gave me a death glare.

"Did I done anything wrong?", I timidly said.

"*Deep breath* Let's go...", she said.

We then walked back side by side, say nothing to each other.

"Yoriko is my only friend at school, as a ghoul, we're tried to distant ourselves from the humans. But she's different so I accept her.", she suddenly said.

"Does she know?", I asked.

"No...it's better to keep it secrets. I'm  afraid I'll scare her away. Tell me, are you afraid of me?", she replied.

"Well...Why should I. Although you sometime just being grumpy, otherwise you're good, I can see you're trying hard to blend in with the humans."

"Oh really. But I don't think I should trust the word coming out from a guy I met a month ago.", she chuckled.

"Yeah...that's my opinion on you. And also a guy with no friends and memories.", I chuckled.

"As a guy with nothing, you're quite funny tho.", she said.

"*laugh* Really...", I said.

"Looks like we've arrive.", Touka said.

We got up and entered the cafe, the smells of coffee as good as always.

"We're back.", I said.

Touka went back upstairs to her room.

"Kaneki-kun, put the beans at here.", the manager said.

"Nishio-senpai, I'll finish the rest, go company your girlfriend.", I said.

"Thanks Kaneki.", he went back to the staff room and changed. "Bye."

"Bye.", I said.

"It's about time to close. Kaneki-kun", the manager said as the last customer leave the store. I went out and brought in the sign.

"Bye Kaneki-kun.", the manager said.

"Bye Yoshimura-san.", I replied.

I took the cup that the last customer used and went to the sink to wash it.

"Emm Kaneki...are you good in literature?", Touka came out of the door and asked me.

"Yes...why, Touka-chan?"

"There are something I'm not understand in this book.", she said.

"Okay.", I replied with a smile.
