Train
"Don't get used to it. And... thanks, for saying that I could be a great hero someday." He said, making me give him a warm smile as I nodded.

"She... believes in me... Shiro Kurayami, huh?"
-x- Shiro's View -x-
"Good morning Todoroki-kun!" I greeted, boarding the train as I spotted the familiar head of red and white hair.
"Ah, good morning Kurayami-san." He nodded, his eyes slightly looking down on you as he was about a good two and a half inches taller than you.
"Eh? Todo-kun, please stop adding '-san' to when you call my name, I find it too formal." I said, finally speaking up to him about the matter of calling my name.
"Oh, I apologise if I've made you uncomfortable. What if I call you by your first name then?" He asked, his eyes showing an apologetic look as though he was like a puppy beaten up for doing something wrong.
"E-eh, t-that's okay... Then, it means I can call you by yours too, right?" I smiled, seeing him nod in agreement as we then waited to arrive at U.A. in silence.
After a while, the train finally reached the station near the school, both of us getting off and walking towards the school gates.
"How are your injuries fairing, Shiro?" Todoroki suddenly asked, making me look up at him.
"Oh! They've healed a lot now! Only minor scratches and marks are left, but they'll probably heal very soon." I replied, smiling at how he's showing concern for my well being.
With minor chatter here and there, the two of us then make it into class, the time still early so not many students were here yet.
"Good morning, Momo-chan!" I greeted, giving her a warm smile as she smiled back, looking up from the book she was reading.
"Good morning, Shiro-chan. Have you rested well yesterday?" She asked, making me nod as I sat at my seat, her turning around to start a conversation with me.
"Yeah, it was a nice chance for me to give my cat the attention he wanted." I answered, smiling about the events that happened yesterday as Yaoyorozu blinked.
"You own a cat, Shiro-chan?" She questioned, her expressions showing confusion as I nodded.
"Oh, I've never mentioned Keii to you before. He's a little kitten that I found abandoned on the streets so I took him in. I would love to show you next time." I said, Yaoyorozu nodding as she smiled, saying that she was looking forward to meeting Keii.
And there we were, chatting about different things until the bell rang and Aizawa-sensei came in, shocking the whole class as he was bandaged from head to toe.
"Eh?! Aizawa-sensei, you're already back?! Aren't your injuries not healed yet?!" Kirishima exclaimed, everyone the questioning him as to why he came until he said that his well being is irrelevant right now.
"There's much more pressing matter than my own well-being. The battle is not yet over..." He said, silence falling upon us as some had fear in their eyes.
"The battle...?"
"Don't tell me..."
"More villains..."
I stayed silent, not knowing how or what to respond as Aizawa-sensei then spoke up.
"The Annual U.A. High's Sports Festival is coming up soon." He merely answered, everyone sighing in relief as chatter filled the silence.
"I almost forgot this was an actual school." Kaminari said, chuckling as the others start to get riled up about the Sports Festival.
"But isn't it a bit too soon to hold the Sports Festival right after the villain attack?" Midoriya spoke up, everyone looking over at Aizawa-sensei.
"The Sports Festival is too important of a event to delay. And the other teachers have agreed that by holding the Festival after the attack, shows that U.A. will not falter or be daunted by any attack that comes our way. This year, the Festival's Police and Security will be five times the regular number for safety precautions." He said, then further explaining the Sports Festival to us.
"During the past years, the Olympics would be the main Sports event that would gather everyone from around the world together. But after Quirks came in, U.A. High's Sport Festival has taken that place and has been in the spotlight right now. The Olympics now is merely but a hollow shell of its former glory." He continued, everyone listening intently.
"Heroes are gonna be there as scouts." Yaoyorozu mentioned, earning a nod of agreement from Aizawa-sensei as he continued.
"This event is the chance for you to be noticed by Pro Heroes, who will be there during the Festival to scout for new Sidekicks and partners. This is held every year, which means you get three chances in total. So don't waste it and make it work." He said, eyeing each and every one of us as he then said his last announcement before proceeding with usual classes.
"You have two weeks to train and get prepared for the Festival. So make use of it and win."
-x- Lunch Time -x-
I had grabbed my lunch after waiting for so long by the line, taking my tray I look arond the cafeteria to find an empty table.
My eyes land on Todoroki, who was sitting by himself with his usual meal in front of him. I decided to head over there as I caught his attention.
"Hey, Shoto. You don't mind right? Since, we practically sit together during lunch almost every time." I joked, placing my food down across from him as he nodded.
After a few moments of silence that went by, I swallowed the food that I had in my mouth and looked towards Todoroki.
"So Shoto, do you have any plans for the two weeks of prep?" I asked, taking a sip of my drink as he thought about it.
"I don't think I've thought of anything yet." He answered, making me grin as an idea popped into my head.
"Then how about we train together? It'll be fun! I could teach you on how to wield a sword, and you could teach me a few combat moves!" I suggested, him thinking about it before nodding.
"That's seems fine. So when does our training commence, Shiro?" He asked, myself already thought of a date as I grinned.
"Tomorrow after school. I know a place to train in."
-x- TICK -x-
School had just ended, me packing my stuff up as I got ready to leave the classroom. Picking my bag up, I turned towards the doors and yelped, shocked at how many students had crowded the entrance doors.
"What the...?" I muttered, standing still as I look upon the sea of students that stood by our class, my other classmate just as shocked.
"They're scouting the competition, shitheads. Coming over to check out the class that fought against villains. But it doesn't care, cause I'll rise to the top. Now move aside, Cannon Fodder." Bakugo said, slinging his bag over his shoulder -Iida was telling him that he shouldn't call people 'Cannon Fodder' behind him- as he started to walk through the crowd, that was until someone blocked him.
"Are all the kids in the Hero Course like this one?" A bored voice reached my ears, making me look towards the door as I walked to it, looking over Kirishima's shoulder to see Shinso there, his eyes looking bored as he had a hand by the back of his neck.
"Gotta say I'm a bit disillusioned if this is what you're offering.-" He said, staring right at Bakugo as the latter merely stared back. "-Those of us who didn't make it into the Hero Course are stuck in General Studies and other tracks. They're quite a few of us, did you know that?"
"Do you know that, if we were to perform well at the Sport Festival, the school board might consider a transfer for us? I understand the reverse is also possible for you." He mocked, some of my classmates gasping in shock as they found out about this new information.
"Huh?" Bakugo said, staring at Shinso as the latter did the same, not moving an inch.
"It's time to snag those rugs from your feet and make you fall from those high horses of yours. A lot of us will be partaking in the Sports Festival as well, consider it as a declaration of war." He said, eyes looking upon the class as he saw me, widening a little before returning to their original bored look.
"Hey, I'm from Class 1-B next door! Heard you guys fought some villains, wanted to know more but all I'm seeing is this arrogant bastard!" A boy shouted, having silver hair as he jumped up from behind the crowd.
"You better not make fools of the Hero Course at this thing!" The guy yelled, leaving as he soon as he finished, me frozen on place as I prepared for the failure and humiliation that's soon to happen.
"Wait, you jerk. What're you doing to us? Thanks to you, we've got a whole mob of haters now!" Kirishima whined, Bakugo turning back to him as he clicked his tongue.
"So, who fucking gives a shit? As long as I make it to the top, these little shits wouldn't even matter." Was all he said before leaving, Kirishima shedding a few tears about how his statement was 'manly'.
Ignoring their comments, I walk towards the front as I still see Shinso there, him looking around the class before he met my eyes at the front.
"Shinso-kun! So you really are in this school, huh?" I smiled, standing in front of him as the others from my class stare in shock.
"Ah, yeah. You weren't lying when you said you're from the Hero Course... But don't expect me to go easy on you just cause we're acquainted." He said, a slight smirk on his lips as I chuckle, nodding.
"Wouldn't dream of it. I'll be looking forward in seeing you in the Hero Course soon, Shinso-kun." I wished him luck, him thanking me and wishing me good luck as well before leaving, the crowd of student long gone as I stood there with dozens of pairs of eyes staring at me.
"You know him?!" They yelled, myself sweat-dropping as I laughed nervously.
"Uh..."
-x- TOCK -x-
The days went by quick, soon enough it was already the first day that me and Todoroki were gonna train together.
I waited for him to pack up his things before exiting the classroom, discussing about school work and also what we would be doing.
And the place that I suggested to go for our training? It was an abandoned train depot that people forgot about.
"Is this legal, Shiro?" Todoroki asked, looking around the place as he saw the different rusted train carts and other stuff surrounding us.
"Yeah, I usually come here when I had to train, so I see no problem." With a smile, I stop right in the middle of the old rusted train tracks, carts and old parts scattered around to make a sort of ring.
"Okay! So first things first, can you control what your ice does?" I started, making him blink in confusion as he shook his head.
"Not much. I only most freeze things or create ice spikes." He answered, me humming in understanding as I clapped my hands, smiling.
"I guess we gotta work on that then! It's time we train to get to the top, Shoto!"
