You woke up in the middle of the night. There was nothing that woke you up, you just did.

You decided to go outside and get some fresh air to calm you down and make you sleepy.

You put on your slippers and quietly walked outside.

There was a fancy yellow bench a few feet away from the lab, so you sat there. You crossed your legs and just hung out there, thinking.

These past few weeks have been...Life changing! You thought to yourself. It's been wonderful! I'm finally happy! I'm not as shy as I was before!

You smiled at yourself. None of this would've happened if I hadn't met Mettaton...I'd still be in the underground, lonely... I'm so glad I have him...

You loved all the attention you had been getting lately, but you hadn't had time to yourself to think like this. It was like a break from reality, where you could just think of whatever you want!

You sat there, on the bench, just looking at the stars. You decided to write in your journal, which you haven't done in quite a few weeks!

You wrote down all that's happened. Dating Mettaton, meeting new people, leaving the underground, etc.

As you wrote the last sentence, you heard footsteps. You looked up to see Mettaton, walking towards you.

He sat down beside you on the bench, without saying a word.

Finally, he said, "Getting some fresh air, dear?"

You nodded and smiled. "I couldn't sleep"

He held your hand in his. "The stars are beautiful, aren't they?" He asked, looking up at the sky.

"They really are. I couldn't dream of this when I was in the underground!" You exclaimed.

"Well, darling, now you're here, seeing them"

You chuckled. "Yep, and I'm thankful for that"

"Hey, darling, I've been meaning to give this to you!" He dug in his pink pocket for a minute, then pulled out a pink necklace box with a black heart on it.

He passed you the box and you looked at him.

"Go ahead, darling! Open it!"

You slowly opened it. In the box was a beautiful golden necklace with half of a pink heart on it.

He pulled something from the part of his sweater that revealed his neck and revealed the other half of the heart.

You took your half out of the box and smiled. You hugged Mettaton as tight as you possibly could. "Thank you! It's beautiful!" You exclaimed.

He smiled and chuckled. "It is, isn't it? It's. it half as beautiful as you, though, darling" He said, wrapping his arm around your waist.

You leaned your head on his shoulder and smiled after putting the necklace on. Nothing could make you happier at this moment.

I am never taking this necklace off! You told yourself.

You both stayed like that, talking about various topics for the rest of the night, not even bothering to go back to sleep.
