Chapter fourteen: Life brings Change

Len's POV

We stepped out of the castle and onto a gruesome scene where there were bodies littering the ground and injured men having their wounds tended. Mikuo and the two knights escorted me, Rin and Miku to where a royal looking man stood and as he turned, even behind his visor I could see his eyes light up.

"Allen?"

I felt so nervous. "Y-yeah?"

He ran to me and brought my slender 14-year old frame into his arms, embracing me in a hug and I started to cry. I could just barely hear him cry as I returned the hug, wrapping my arms around him. This was my father?

He backed away slightly and looked into my eyes, before looking at Prince Mikuo.

"Thank you so much for returning both my children. How can I ever repay you?"

"Ah, uhmn, this isn't the time sir." Prince Mikuo replied. I saw the knight, Angela, push Rin towards me and the King- er, our father, and she grabbed onto my shirt to stop from falling, laughing nervously. "Hi dad..."

"Riliane? Didn't we leave you back home?"

"Yeah, uh... I snuck out..."

He groaned at that, but pulled us both into a hug. "I'm just glad I finally have both of you back."

"Sir, shouldn't we head back to your castle so Allen can meet your lovely queen?"

Time skip~

It had been three hours since we had reached the castle and I was currently relaxing in a tub filled with warm water. I hadn't had warm baths before, it had always been cold water thrown at me by the Stable Master.

The first hour had been spent being held by my mom, Queen Anne, and shed tears from the both of us.

A servant entered the room with a towel. "Your majesty, are you ready to get out now?" He asked with a bow. I nodded and got out and once I was dressed I heard a knock on the door. The servant was out of the room, fetching the physician or something, and I opened the door, revealing Miku.

"Do you want to come in?" I asked and she nodded, stepping into the room and looking around. She looked somewhat sad, but I didn't know why.

"Is something wrong?"

She shook her head, but almost immediately choked on a sob, and she gave a small nod.

"What's wrong Miku?" I asked, and we sat on the bed. She looked at me and quietly asked, "So now what? I mean.. We are both royalty now. I'm a princess again and you are a prince. Do we forget each other? Being royal means responsibility. And we both will be busy, which means-"

I gently laid my lips on hers, cutting off what she was saying. I felt like she might push me away, but when she closed her eyes and kissed me back, I felt like the world was mine.

(World is mine, eh Len?)

When the kiss ended I whispered, "I'll never be too busy for you, my princess. Please don't be too busy for me, your servant."

"I promise, my prince..."

I heard the servant and physician enter the room and Miku left. The physician dressed the wounds from my time in the dungeon and any other signs of abuse he found on my body before leaving. I felt so bored, like I had to get up and do something but the physician had instructed me to rest.

The next few days went along nicely, though it was difficult for me to get used to being a prince and having parents instead of a master. Miku and Mikuo were around often and it was agreed by Rin and our father that Rin would marry Prince Mikuo as a thank you for reuniting us with our parents.

Miku and I started to date, but my father wasn't ready to let go of both his children yet, which was just fine with Miku and I. We would rather get to know each other for a few years first.

Narrator POV

Everyone was looking forward to the marriage of Princess Riliane and Prince Mikuo, the uniting of the kingdoms. Everything was prepared and the day was promised to be perfect.
