Kim Soo Jin

In the morning, when I woke up, I suddenly did not know where I was, what had happened to me, why I felt so tormented. 

Then a soft squeaking sound hit my ears, I opened my eyes and saw a baby in the armchair next to me, hobbling in a blanket nest.  I remembered last night.  I sat up and saw the man sleeping with his head on the couch. 

"He's a good-looking guy, but still not familiar. How does his name sound known -Lee Jong Suk- hmmm, I have no idea."

I saw the bowl with the towel, next to it the baby's milk bottle had been washed, ready for the next meal. 

"So he took care of us all night, even though he hardly knows us"

I took the blanket, covered his back and then carefully hobbled out to the kitchen to heat water for the baby.  I mixed in the formula, then took the baby in my lap and fed her.  When I was done, I cleaned her up. 

" It's much better that way, isn't it? "   - I whispered softly, so as not to wake the sleeping man. 

I put the baby on my chest and started thinking about how to proceed now. 

My life suddenly turned upside down, I never dreamed that I would become a mother so soon, and I was single. 

" How am I going to solve this now? How am I going to fit the care of a baby into my everyday life?"

Fortunately, it was the weekend and we didn't have an exceptional event, so I don't have to worry about work now. 

" We'll solve it somehow, because this is what I do every day. Right? "

I caressed the baby's back, who quickly fell asleep on me. 

" It's so nice to listen to her whine," I smiled. 

I had no idea such a good feeling existed in this world. 

" Here is a tiny creature who is completely dependent on me, and I want to protect her from everything in the world."

I sat thoughtfully on the couch and continued to caress the little one's back. 

All at once I felt that someone were watching me. 

I looked up to see Jong Suk lying on his arms smiling at us. 

Confused, I rolled my eyes and hid behind my hair.  I felt the sofa move under me as the man sat next to me and the next moment a hand tucked my hair behind my ear. 

" Good morning!  Are you better?"   he grabbed my forehead with his palm.  " You don't have a fever anymore, but your face is very red. "

I was even more embarrassed by this, which the man was amused by. 

Then suddenly he kissed me on the forehead and went to the bathroom, leaving me with my shocked thoughts.

I never thought that once in my life, I would feel like this, I was caught by an ancient instinct to take care of them, to protect them.  They belong to me, even though I hardly know them.  I don't know where this feeling came from, but it wasn't unpleasant. 

The picture that greeted me when I woke up was idyllic and heartwarming, I found myself watching them with a smile.  I don't know what fate wanted to bring the three of us together like this, but I think I'd like to find out. 

I washed my face and looked at myself thoughtfully in the mirror. 

" I wonder what Soojin might think of me? I'm sure she didn't recognize me, and it was quite a refreshing feeling, and judging by the red spots on her face, I have some kind of influence on her. She was so cute to look at, I couldn't help but kiss her. "  I smiled in the mirror. 

I then went back to their living room. 

" I'll take you to the hospital in the afternoon.  But before that, you have to take care of the baby's papers.  Have you ever wondered what her name should be? "

" Not really yet. "

" Can I help you? "

" Hmm, yes, let's find a nice name for her. What suits her? "

" Soo would suit her, she's a beautiful little girl, and she's as pure as a lotus flower (Soo means lotus flower), but what would suit her? "

" How about Yong Soo? Because this little warrior needed a lot of courage to survive. " (Yong means brave)

" Sounds good"  he stroked the baby's back " Do you like your name Yong Soo-ya? "

Whereupon the little girl made a grimace similar to a smile in her sleep, which made us both happy. 

" I think we can take this as a yes! Welcome to the world little Yong Soo! "
