Chapter 9
*James Pov*
I groaned, feeling on my left side and turned to lay on my back only to feel everything black when I opened my eyes. I placed the hands on my eyes to see a cloth was tied covering my eyes.
"What the hell!" I mumbled and immediately removed it to see the one behind this cloth blowing her hair.
"Why did you do this?" I asked, sitting up while rubbing my eyes.
"I was changing my dress as it was uncomfortable inside the washroom. I covered your eyes to not have any disturbance with the thought you may open them." She replied, shrugging and I got down from the bed.
In the morning itself, she drenched my mood and now sitting so peacefully near the small mirror, I had by placing a chair before it.
"I would have wished to poke them off completely though." She added and I walked near to her.
"Then I am feeling a disturbance because of this dryer." I said and she raised her eyebrow at me.
"So, why don't I make your head bald." Saying that I took her hair in my hands and pulled it before tightening the grip on it.
"Leave it!" she shouted glaring at me still looking at the mirror.
"Don't forget this is my house, the Swathi Guptha. Ask nicely, I may consider any request. Do anything like this again, the roof, we both will be living could be under the open sky, which I am used to but I don't think you are." I warned her before leaving the hair and stepped back.
I walked to the cupboard ignoring her startled look and took out my clothes before getting inside the washroom and locked it.
Turning the shower on, I stood under it while trying to forget the memories that entered the moment I felt the cloth over my eyes. No! Don't go to those thoughts when you have too much to think about.
I stepped out after taking a long time to see her suddenly sitting still with the makeup brush in the air.
"Even in a house you can't stop yourself from packing your face with all that?" I asked rubbing my wet head with the towel.
"Shut up!" she mumbled and put the brush back down before standing up along with holding her handbag.
"Where are you going?" I asked and she turned around as if she found a success.
"Why should I tell you? You are not taking the word husband so serious do you?" she asked in a mocking tone.
"If I did, then we both would be still in this bed." I replied back and she moved her hands as if to press my neck and gave a small scream of frustration before walking out of the room while I let my lips twitch.
I followed her and saw that when she opened the door, Maha was standing there holding a tray in her hands with a smile.
"Move!" saying that in a harsh tone she walked away while Maha glanced at me.
"She is still angry at me?" she asked entering the house.
"Yes! But not at you. What is it?" I asked, gesturing to the tray.
"Tray!" she replied, shrugging.
"It is the breakfast." She added when I gave a little glare.
"So, why is she angry?" she asked, sitting down in the dining chair while I took the other one after taking one plate from the tray.
"So many things, but the main one is because we have to share the room. She thought I would sleep in the living room. Why would I?" I asked and took a bite of the food feeling hungry due to not having the dinner.
"Separate room?" she asked and I nodded, continuing to eat.
"Yes! And I don't blame her because even I don't want to share my room with her. I mean, the way we got married is like a big no of sharing rooms." I replied and glanced up meeting the silence to see her staring at me with wide eyes.
"I made a big blunder." She mumbled and I frowned at her words.
"What could you have possibly have done?" I asked, placing the plate down finishing it already.
"I... I shifted my luggage to his room directly even though I saw an empty room beside his." She replied and I stilled before staring at her to which she groaned standing up.
"Your reaction tells me clearly I did something which is not normal and what Di is wishing is completely normal. How did I forget everything? How could I even think of being in his room? No wonder he asked me to get out of his room. I mean, I have seen these many movies and soap operas, I should have learned something from them. But I just barged into his room with my mind closed. It's just that maid said Di's luggage is in his room, so shifting I just took mine to his. This is the stupidest thing that anyone has ever done." She continued to ramble and lifted the tray with one empty plate and one full before walking out of the house and I followed her.
"Maha! The stupidest thing will be these marriages and don't beat yourself. So much has happened and it must be shock for you. Do not be hard on yourself." I said and she finally stopped outside the house before nodding.
"Anyway, you are lucky to have a separate room. Or are you disappointed to stay away from him?" I asked and she immediately glared at me.
"Shut up!" she scolded, but then smiled, understanding my teasing before walking away while I shook my head and walked back inside the house.
This is the second time I am hearing those words already and the day didn't even started. Great! Just great way the events are turning. I thought grumbling and dialed the number of my team to take this anger out on them because if they had did work properly then I would be taking the car out so that both Nakul and I can go out for breakfast and his coffee.
However, can't say will regret after tasting Maha's cooking and I can assume the lucky bastard to be too happy to get such a food being a food freak like me.
*Nakul Pov*
I was standing beside the dining table, staring at the food on the table and glanced at the main door hearing a door to see her walking inside holding a tray with a smile.
However, that slipped the moment she saw me, but then she gave a nervous smile before placing the tray on the table.
I glanced at the tray and heard her voice saying, "I... I just went near Di and James to give them the breakfast."
When I turned my gaze to the full plate which was not touched, she added, saying, "Di was in a hurry so she left off."
I fisted my hands in anger hearing her words. Her sister left, but she stayed there with him. Does she hate her sister that much that even now she is hurting her?
"Breakfast?" she asked, but I glanced back at her and stared at her before turning around and walked to my study room.
I moved my hands on the things before my eyes to throw them, but then stopped looking at the bandages over them.
I took a deep breath and walked to the chair before sitting on it. Placing the hands behind my head carefully I leaned back closing my eyes.
"Mom! Where are you going? Look, I got first rank." I said, smiling at her with happiness and she was smiling too, but at something else and kept on walking away from me into darkness.
"I don't want to go anywhere. I want to stay here." I said fisting my hands, but he shook his head and walked away from me into darkness.
"Please, Grandpa! I don't like this boarding school. I want to come home." I said, pleading him, but he gave a small shake of his head in negative before walking away into darkness.
I jerked away from my thoughts but couldn't possibly and fell back to them again. I repeated the things in my head, which I left behind from the past few years and was happy with my life.
But then I had to go and fall in love with some girl at first sight and then jumping into everything without questioning anything. It paid back really good to me with the love I lost forever.
Now, both my love and James also walked into the darkness. Not a thing returned back and I am not hoping anything new now.
I need to be calm, controlling my anger and let the six months pass. Then, I will think of something, whether to get back the love or leave it completely.
All these thoughts got disturbed with a knock on the door and I opened my eyes to see her entering the room holding a plate and a mug.
She is in some stupid baggy clothes and with as usual a nervous smile. Why is she wearing such clothes? And why the hell she is even here?
"Uhmm... okay! I know everything is very bad and all. But please do not ignore the food because you see the groceries are paid by you. I just put things here and there. So, you can show the anger you have for me on other things than the food because it will be useless. As it will seem you to be mad at yourself." She babbled and babbled before stiffening when I moved forward to place my hands on the table while she moved to place the things in her hands on the table.
"Is this another act because you promised James to care for me?" I asked against the steam coming from the mug.
"Well, yes! I mean, he is a great friend for you which I can see. Don't be mad at him, please." She requested and I stared at her, feeling the anger raising even more hearing about him.
"Get out!" I said in a calm tone to which she frowned.
"I said..." I started, but she lifted her hand to stop me saying, "Got it! I should have known that was your favorite word."
I frowned at the closed door and then glanced at the breakfast. My stomach grumbled smelling it and immediately brought the plate near to me.
I stared at it before taking a bite and then finished it within a few minutes before having the coffee, which is black making me frown but I drank it off.
No wonder he fell for this girl being a complete food freak, but then even I am. So, maybe I can enjoy these few months. No! I will not touch it again.
I wish I can get out of this house and go somewhere, but I knew better than going anywhere without informing James or taking him with me. I can take other security if I am going to a place which is familiar, but something new then it means James whom I don't want to see.
I have time until Monday to have a release from the burden of seeing him and not lose my temper. By that time I have to control the anger I am feeling right now.
*Swathi Pov*
"Dad! The house is too small and I can't even breathe there." I complained pacing in his study room while he nodded.
"Don't worry! I will talk to Nakul." He said making me frown.
"What will happen talking to him?" I asked, to which he smiled.
"Do you really think we should sit calm for the next six months and everything will be fine? I am going to meet him this next week someday and will get joined our company even a little to his. But that is not important, I will just be there to keep the play go on." He replied and I frowned more.
"We can't keep the thought away from him that you can never be his wife. As far as you said about crashes and his anger I can see he really wanted to marry you and we will take advantage of it keeping it aside but alive too. So, I will do some work and will try to pass your concerns to make sure he will work on them." He continued and for the first time I felt we were going too far.
There is no need to think of a marriage between Nakul and me if my work succeeds in finding the information for his ruin. But seems like Dad doesn't want to take chances, so I will try to make sure to follow it, but hope with everything that it will not come to that point.
"How is she?" Mom asked the moment we both walked out of the study room and I can see her tired face.
"Why don't you talk to her?" I asked back hoping she does but she shook her head.
"She should have known better than anyone before taking away another woman's man. She should have known it after I told her everything." She replied in anger while I felt Dad stiffen making me frown.
"Well, she is not fine with Nakul showing his anger on her completely. Yesterday, I heard too many crashes from the main house and she walked inside the house hearing those only." I said honestly and she paled.
"However, I saw her today morning, bringing breakfast and looks fine to me." I added but the worried look didn't left.
"Sweety!" Dad said in a harsh tone and held my hand near the elbow before dragging me outside the house.
"Can you at least try to take her worries away?" he asked in anger.
"But I was telling the truth." I replied, frowning at his sudden anger.
"We both know how many lies we both uttered. So, try to add some more to make her feel fine and not worried." He said and I nodded.
"Okay! And please do something about this divorce otherwise I will run away with madness." Saying that I got in the car and drove away feeling confused hearing the Mom's words.
*Third Point Of View*
For the remaining of the day and the next day everything happened as the four planned with which they felt the confidence the six months would be nothing.
