*Maheshwari Pov*

"You actually slapped me." That's all he said when Di and I walked into the house with James before us walking stiffly but stopped hearing his words.

"Yes!" I mumbled ignoring James and continued to walk.

"You actually..." he started saying again and Di groaned beside me.

"For god's sake! She slapped you, Nakul. If you are having trouble, don't worry because we can see the marks clearly." Di said and I winced seeing the marks myself.

"Why did you?" he asked, frowning and I suddenly glared at him.

How can he ask me that? I thought, fuming and then realized he must be thinking why did I do it even after already knowing about it.

"I felt to do it." I replied and he frowned.

However, I walked near to him and said, "Can you promise me something?" and immediately heard James clearing his throat.

"About what?" he asked frowning.

"First promise!" I replied and he nodded frowning.

"Don't hurt my family." I said and he stared at me like I have gone crazy.

"What?" he asked, but I gave him a pleaded look until Di reached near to me.

Di held my hand and dragged me to the couch before we both sat down while they both stood before us. I glanced at her and she is looking at Nakul with a smirk.

"Di! Don't be too harsh." I whispered, pleading with her.

"This is the only thing I can do against him. I will not miss the chance." She whispered back before clearing her throat.

"So, what to know about everything?" she asked and Nakul nodded, but glanced at me for a second before turning his attention to Di.

"Well, the accident you did fourteen years involved in the death of... of my mother." She said when I squeezed her hand while he stilled.

"However, your Dad saved you from everything that it was passed on your mother as the culprit who too died. Dad and I wanted justice and acted as if interested in you and even sent those goons to meet you. I decided to marry you and then destroy you by taking away everything from you." She added and I winced but he just stared.

"But then, this sister of mine got to know about it and went pouring it to James. They both just made my plans enter the drainage system with ease that I still can't believe myself." She said and I cleared my throat before glanced at James to see him trying to hide his smile but it turned to worry when he glanced at silent Nakul.

I too glanced at Nakul but stiffened when I saw him staring directly at me with a frown. Then he glanced back at Di with a confused look.

"So, your sister married me to save me from your destruction plans." He calmly said and I glanced at Di to see she too didn't expect him to be this calm.

"In the end, I got to know about you not having the pre-nup contract. So I asked Maha to marry you believing she wouldn't deceive you." James said and Nakul nodded at him.

"If I had gotten pre-nup, then all this wouldn't have happened?" Nakul asked, glancing at me to which I glanced at James.

"I wouldn't have signed it in the first place." Di replied and he gave her a nod but didn't, glance at her.

"So, you are accepting that you did the accident." Di said leaning forward.

"I can't accept something which I don't know anything about, Sweety." He said staring at her.

"What? Are you really going to stand there and lie? We have complete proof, Nakul." She said standing up.

"I don't know anything about all this." He repeated.

"Are you saying you were sitting beside your Mom in the passenger seat like your Father claimed?" she asked frowning.

"I don't remember anything." He screamed and rubbed his forehead.

"How can you..." she started, but James gave her a warning glare, making her glare back at him forgetting the present discussion.

However, when they were busy with that, Nakul suddenly started walking near to me making me press myself to the couch.

"So, no revenge, nothing, but just to save me from all this." He mumbled and I nodded to which he suddenly laughed.

He literally stood before me and laughed, which I never saw or hear him doing. I gaped at him in shock with his reaction and I can see even feel Di has the same with the way she left my hand in shock.

In the next moment, I was suddenly hauled up and before I can react by opening my mouth a little a pair of lips crashed to mine.

It is actually not the first one because he did the same in the morning because of which my hand itched and his words and reaction made the itch to convert into a slap. I waved it off thinking I actually didn't lose my first kiss with him being sleepy and all but here he is doing it again.

Should I count this as that? I thought, frowning but he increased the pressure of his lips moving them over mine and just for a second I reacted, but then reality got better of my intention hearing a gasp beside me.

"I love you!" he whispered over my lips in a low voice which can't be heard by even a person beside me and I lifted my right hand to slap him, but he suddenly moved back before holding both of my hands.

"I don't want to have some more marks on my other side of the face too." He said smiling while I stared at him.

"Have you gone mad with devastation because of realizing it was deception from her?" I asked him and he again laughed at me before pulling me in his arms.

"What are you doing? Leave my sister." Suddenly as if finally finding a voice, Di shouted but he didn't even glance at her making me feel more terror.

"James! Take your wife and leave." He ordered and I opened my mouth to protest but when his gaze dropped on them I closed it.

"He is not my husband." Di protested.

"Well, James take your room mate with you right now." He said again but I can see James didn't move at all.

"You can't hurt her." James said and Nakul suddenly glared at me.

"I told you to stay away from her, James." He said still glaring at me before frowning.

"Her?" James asked in a shocked tone.

"Will you marry him after the divorce?" Nakul suddenly demanded and I shook my head not understanding why is he even asking me that.

"Good!" saying that he suddenly left me and moved back before bending a little and suddenly hoisting me in his arms bridal style.

"Nakul!" two voices shouted while I screamed, but he continued to stare at me.

"Shut up both of you and don't forget she is my wife." That's all he said and started taking long strides.

"Mr. Singh!" I said and struggled to get out of his hold and I got suddenly slipped, but he immediately held me tightly before pressing me to him more.

"Don't do that again unless you want to hurt yourself." He warned and I gulped placing my hands on his shoulders, but they kept on slipping away when he started climbing the stairs.

"You have to put them around my neck." He instructed and I did, fearing to fall before glancing away from his face to see two people looking at us in shock.

"James!" I screamed in panic and suddenly Nakul held me tighter.

He then pressed his mouth to my ear whispering, "I will not hurt you."

I accepted his words and gave an assurance nod to James and Di before closing my eyes tightly holding him with more grip.

"It wasn't so bad, was it?" he whispered again and I calmly whispered back, "Who are you?" to which he for the third time laughed making me wish I can cry with irritation and confusion.

*James Pov*

"Why are you just looking at them?" a voice snapped me out of my shock and also made me close my mouth, which hung up seeing this weird behavior of the person I have known for so long.

"What should I do?" I asked her back and held her hand before dragging her out of the house like he asked us to.

"James!" she shouted, but I ignored her and waved of two men who stepped towards us and stopped only when we reached my house.

"Why did you drag me here instead of stopping him?" she screamed and moved to leave but I closed the door stopping her.

"He will not hurt her and definitely not for your mistake." I said, assuring her but her eyes filled with tears.

"No! I should have known she will get hurt. He will take revenge on her, James." She pleaded and moved to the door even though I am standing before it.

"Miss... Mi... Swathi." I said, holding her and she suddenly hugged me.

"I don't want her to get hurt. Please stop him." She pleaded and I stilled not knowing how to react seeing her like this for the first time.

"He is not a monster, Swathi. And what he said is right. She is his wife." I said, rubbing her back but she sniffed.

"He kissed her!" she said and I couldn't help but smile at the accusation as if he stabbed her.

"Well, I kissed you too." I pointed out and she stiffened but sighed.

"If I have to say something more, he knows there are people around him. Why would he hurt her? Do you think Maha will let him?" I asked her and she nodded as if she understands.

"I shouldn't have broken down like this." She calmly whispered and I snorted but didn't utter a word.

"It's okay! You can laugh." She mumbled and moved a little to stare at my face.

"It was a complete shock. Who would have thought that even you can cry?" I asked, smirking and she gasped before hitting my shoulder.

"Yes! This woman can cry too, and by the way it was not crying. You must have poked my eyes." She said shrugging.

"I am not that stupid, Okay." I said shaking my head.

"Oh! But you are, darling. You are the stupidest person who thinks so stupid that even stupidity can get stupid. I mean, how can anyone be this stupid..." she couldn't finish when I bent my head before planting my lips on hers.

"That's enough!" I whispered and lifted my head, but she glared at me.

"We need to rectify this." Saying that she moved her hands, but I moved my hands to place them on my collar.

"Not my collar." I said, shaking my head in a warning but she held my head before moving her hands to hold my hair.

"Think what you are doing, Swathi. I don't think we will back out after this." I said in a warning and she frowned.

"It's Sweety!" that's all she whispered and stepped back, but didn't remove her hold.

"My hair is precious for me." I said, gesturing her hands, but she just stared at me.

"I knew you were dangerous when I saw you fighting those goons that day." She said, frowning and I raised my eyebrow at her words.

"Why? Scared I will beat you up too?" I asked, pulling her near placing my arm around her waist when my head started paining with her tugging.

"All this time you knew my intentions, but how were you able to behave so normal?" she asked frowning.

"It was hard, but then you made it easy to show my frustration. Anyways, just a few more months and we are done." I replied shrugging.

"Then this is completely wrong." She mumbled releasing her hold on my hair.

"Of course!" I mumbled, staring at her eyes while she stared back at me.

She stepped back and I stayed at my place, staring back at her. I know she left the war against Nakul with everything open now.

However, I wish it was not out, then I would have kept my distance, thinking I shouldn't do anything with her as she is here to hurt my friend but I can't think that to keep my distance.

She suddenly gasped when her leg got caught in one of the fabrics she laid down and started falling back, but I stepped near to her and held her, but I was late making both of us fall down but I managed for her to fall on me.

"Ouch! Can't you stay a second before harming me?" I shouted, moving a hand away from her to rub my head.

"Who asked you to catch me?" she asked furiously and I glared at her.

"That's it!" I mumbled, rolling her on the ground before lying on her making her gasp.

"What are you doing?" she asked pushing me.

"Have you always done the right things?" I asked back and she frowned, but then realized what I am asking.

"No!" she whispered and I kissed her right then without any hesitation or anything which she returned back.

I moved back after something to breath and stared at her before rolling away to lay beside her. She didn't utter a word and I didn't break the silence.

"I think this will be fine without crossing for more." She mumbled and I turned to my side to stare at her.

"Really?" I asked, smirking.

"Don't give me that look. If you don't want, I am more than fine. It's not like after this divorce, I can't kiss someone else." She replied staring at the ceiling.

"What would have done if we had met not in these situations?" I asked, feeling curious ignoring her words and she frowned.

"I would have asked your number." She replied teasingly shaking her head and I just waited for her to say anything else if she wishes to.

"What would you have done if we did? I mean what did you think when you first saw me?" she asked turning her gaze to me.

"Well, I thought you were a brainless girl who knows nothing but to move her eye lashes. You really looked like a dumb girl and somewhat a teenager kind of vibes." I replied and her mouth opened in shock.

"You!" she said, punching on my shoulder, but then suddenly gasped with wide eyes as if something struck her.

"What is it?" I asked her frowning, but she shook her head, closing her eyes.

"And I saw Nakul attracted to you or kind of. So, I stopped thinking about you." I continued and she snorted.

"That man is stupid. Like how you said, how can he fall for a girl like that." She mumbled.

"Seems like he changed his mind." I pointed out and she nodded, but then glanced at me suddenly.

"You know what! I too thought you had only these muscles and nothing in this department." She said tapping my head.

"I hope you understand what I am trying to say and if you don't then let me explain. I didn't feel like you were intelligent and even now I have the same feeling." She added, smirking and I laughed hearing her words to which she frowned.

"You are laughing?" she asked in a confused tone.

"Yeah! Because there is someone who agrees with you." I replied and she narrowed her eyes.

"Who could that be?" she asked and I snorted figuring out she went to this fidelity business.

"Not my girlfriend or lover." I replied and she shook her head but stared at me.

"Only kissing?" she suddenly asked.

"Okay! If you want, I don't mind." I replied and she gasped before hitting my chest with her fists and I held them chuckling before pushing them away from me and pressed them to the floor before moving over her.

"I don't trust you though." I whispered, moving my lips near to her.

"As if I do." She whispered and I smiled before pressing a kiss before releasing her hands, which she molded around me in the next second.

Now, what have we got ourselves into? I thought for a second but her tugging on my hair made me lose my thoughts that very moment.
