Moving In The Same Direction

"Kyra Fellowen,"

"WooHoo! That's my sister!!" I hear Lia yell from the stands. "Go Ky!!" my parents exclaim.

I wave to them from the stage and walk back to my seat. I'm excited to be moving to San Francisco and obviously, I'll be missing my family but I'm excited to be on my own. I'm also excited to be able to work in the lab and to be in the workplace. Making new friends is another big thing I'm especially excited about.

"Congratulations!" my cousin exclaims holding out a card. We're all at this fancy restaurant which I hate but out of the rest fancy places that my parents recommended this had the food that seemed the most consumable. "Thank you!" I say taking the card in her hand.

"So, how's it feel to finally be done with school?" My older sister Lia asks. "It feels great, to be honest, how did you feel when you graduated?" I reply. "It was good for a moment, then I had to get a job. It's good you able to get that job for that health care company," She says.

"Yeah, I was fortunate. I thought I had totally messed up the interview because the interview lady looked like she hated me," I say. "Well, then you must've done really well or maybe the lady just does that to all the candidates," She shrugs. I nod in reply since the waiter was about to take our orders.

Peter's POV:

"So, the San Francisco Chronicle huh," my cousin says. "We're gonna miss you know that right," he adds. "Yeah, I didn't get New York Times so SFC was my second best choice," I reply.

"There's our journalist boy!" my aunt and uncle say while walking over to our table. "Hey, it's good to see you!" I say walking over to greet them. "Moving across the country, to be the best journalist there is! We're going to miss you," They say. "Thank you, I'll miss you guys too," I reply.

I'm quite excited to be working at a big-time journalist company, I won't have anyone I know, but I think I'll be fine. Man, out of all the places I can't even believe myself that I chose to be in California. Away from all my family and friends, but again, I'm going to be fine.

"Whatcha thinking about?" My older cousin Vera asks taking a seat next to me. "Oh, nothing just taking it all in you know," I reply. "I see, good thing you aren't in a relationship because then you have to choose between love and your job which is pretty big-"

"Oh my god, will you ever stop talking about relationships and love?" I groan. "Fine. I'm pretty sure going to be lonely for the rest of your life all grumpy and sad," she frowns. "Ugh, whatever go sit with your family," I say pushing her out of her seat.

Kyra's POV:

"Oh my gosh, your growing up so fast! I'm so proud of you!" My aunt Camila says hugging me. "Thank you!" I reply. "Have any boyfriends yet??" She smirks. "Oh, no, I'm fine just being alone for now haha," I laugh. "Too bad, I'm sure any guy will be willing to be with you," She nudges my arm before walking away.

"Yep, sure, thanks auntie," I smile.

Most of the guys I like end up thinking they like me but then they realize I'm too talkative and that I have "no chill". One time in the sixth grade I nearly strangled and jumped my crush with my friends because he stole my friend's stuffed animal. I find myself talking over people on accident and sometimes getting violent when I get really excited about something.

I think I'm fairly attractive although I have a slight belly that looks very visible when I lay on my side and so I'm not that skinny. My fingers look fat when I think about it as well as my face when I take my glasses off. I don't do any sports and when I get jealous of others I just get mad at them for existing and then make fun of them in my head. I also think I'm a hypocrite for making fun of those people because then I feel bad for them and maybe they are going through something and I don't know it. I also overthink a lot. Which is probably obvious by now.

Hm, what else about me... I really like food and especially pizza. I despise anyone on a diet since they make me insecure about my low motivation. The only form of exercise that I am willing to do is dance. Workouts bore me. Especially yoga. Oh, I also like to read a lot of rom-com novels which consist of regular stories and online comics. I freak out a lot when I read them so for example I'm reading in my bed then I just start giggling non-stop and kicking my feet under the covers and I look stupid. and my phone is filled with screenshots of characters I like in some of the comics. I crush on multiple people at the same time (celebrity or just a normal person) and then end up being indecisive and never choosing one then moving on to another. I like to start a lot of projects but I don't end up finishing them all since I either get bored or distracted with another project I discover.

Hopefully, I don't forget anything. Oh yeah, that's another thing, I forget a lot of things.

Peter's POV:

I decided to take a career in journalism since I realized I was a good analyzer and then when I joined the school paper both in high school and college. I had a weird obsession with talking to people on the internet for a while and then I stopped after well, my parents took away my phone (which was excruciating, I had to email my friends for like a month) and during that time, I decided to pay more attention to writing. I actually wrote an article about meeting people online and how friendships and relationships can come from it. It actually was pretty popular.

I ended up focusing more on school and became more serious about things. I didn't game as much and was just writing all the time. Being more serious about things affected my friendships and my chances of being in a relationship. It's not like I want or need to be with people, so this was just fine. The girls I end up meeting keep only really like me for my looks then tell me I'm too serious and too focused on work to be in a relationship with them. Vera has been bugging me about it since I basically complained to her while I was drunk about being alone.

I'm was very active as a child and then just proceeded to eat healthy food. I try to avoid fatty foods and I go to the gym every now and then. I worked at a grocery store by more school for a while and had a couple of old ladies hit on me which I hated about the job. One girl I worked with was actually pretty decent. She was the closest person to ever being in a relationship with me but, she ended up moving...to California. That wasn't why I wanted to take the job in San Francisco, it just offered more benefits to my writing about things like technology and the internet. Not all my life is writing, I skate occasionally when I feel like it and game occasionally too, I saved up my money from the grocery store to buy myself a Nintendo switch a while ago.

And, yeah, that's it I guess.
