"Are you okay, beautiful?" Brett asks her
"Yeah." Rayne says as she gets ready
"So, you and Theo?" Brett asks.

"What about him?" Rayne asks
"Do you like him?" He asks and Rayne stops and sighs
"I don't know."

"It's okay if you do. We aren't together." Brett says and Rayne nods
"You coming to my school at my free period tomorrow?" She asks
"You know it." He says and kisses her head.

Scott, Theo and Rayne all walk through school
"So, basically, we're looking for abnormal behavior?" Theo asks
"Anyone acting a little off or a little weird." Scott says.

"Isn't everyone a little weird in high school?" Theo asks
"Yeah, kinda the whole point of high school." Rayne says
"You remember Tracy went on a killing spree after reading that?" Theo asks.

"You think it's a bad idea?" Scott asks
"I think Rayne almost getting run down by a car could've been bad..." Theo says
"Well, that's why you guys haven't finished it, right?" Theo asks.

"We're going to." Scott says
"Scott, I came here hoping to find a pack-- I wasn't planning on watching one fall apart." Theo says
"The book's all we've got." Rayne says.

"Then I'll read it, too."

They all gathered at Scott's house to read the book
"My mom's book club usually has more wine." Lydia says
"Why didn't you bring some?" Rayne asks.

"Well, they also probably didn't read books that cause violent hallucinations..." Stiles says
"That's why Rayne's here." Scott says
"So none of us go running into traffic?" Kira asks.

"Or worse." Scott says
"Like what happened to Judy." Malia says
"Chapter fourteen. Come on. Malia doesn't even like to read." Rayne complains.

"Maybe I should have my mother read it. She might remember a girl with a tail leaping off the ceiling and attacking everyone." Lydia says
"Yeah, if it works..." Rayne says
"It has to." Lydia says.

"What does that mean?" Scott asks
"I think I saw them during my surgery. When I look at the cover of the book, it's almost like..." Lydia thinks of the word
"A memory trying to surface." Theo says
"Yeah." She nods.

"Isn't that what Valack wanted when he wrote it?" Kira asks
"If they did something to me, I want to know what it is." Lydia says
"Well we better comfy." Rayne says and they all sit down, Rayne sat down on the ground in between Theo's legs and rests her head on his leg as he smiles and slowly brushed through her hair.

About 20 minutes went past of them reading when Scott started to talk
"Anyone feel any thing yet?" He asks
"Tired." Kira says
"Hungry." Lydia says.

"This is making me hate reading." Rayne says.

"I think he meant the book..." Theo chuckles
"Yeah no shit." Rayne mutters and Theo taps her head and she turns
"Yes captain obvious?" She asks.

"Shut up." He smiles while rolling his eyes and she reaches up to tap his nose
"Stop." He says
"Make me." Rayne says and Lydia glances at the pair with a smile on her face.

She remembers when Rayne was like this. With Erica and Aiden.

She just hopes nothing bad happens to Rayne is left heartbroken again.

The next day Rayne, Theo, Kira, Scott and Lydia all sat in AP Biology as Mrs Finch talks
"So, while introducing the African Cane Toad sounded like a good way to deal with Australia's infestation of the grey-backed beetle." Theo tapped Rayne's hand as motioned to Sydney.

"Unfortunately, the toad also decided to eat everything else in sight." Theo then gets a text from Lydia saying 'Chimera?' And Theo responds with 'Look at her hair' and they all look at her hair to see a clump come out from her scalp.

"And, everything that tried to eat the toad-- from crocodiles to household pets-- quickly died from the poison they secreted. A perfect example of an invasive species. One hundred and two toads introduced in 1935 became 1.5 billion by 2010. Once an invasive species is introduced, everything changes." Mrs Finch says and Sydney stands up from her seat and places the drop out form on the teacher's desk.

"Wise decision, Sydney." She says and Rayne and Lydia stand up and go to leave
"Rayne, Lydia, you know it's for the best." She says
"Bitch." Rayne says and Mrs Finch looks stunned again

"Rayne, if you walk out the door with this behaviour then you are not welcome back."
"Then I guess I'm not welcome back." Rayne says and loops her arm with Lydia's and walks out the classroom to find Sydney.

"What did you just do?" Lydia asks
"I have no fucking clue." Rayne says.

Rayne and Lydia find Sydney in the Guidance councillor's office
"I was just looking for your mom. I mean, Mrs. Martin." Sydney says
"Are you okay?" Lydia asks
"Does this look okay?" Sydney asks holding a ball of her hair.

"How long has it been happening?" Rayne asks
"Three years..." Sydney says
"Years?" Lydia asks.

"It's stress. I've tried everything-- medication, acupuncture, hypnosis..." Sydney says
"Have you tried not taking the hardest classes in school?" Lydia asks
"Let me see it. Maybe I can help cover it up." Lydia says and Sydney lifts her hair when Lydia gasps and walks into Rayne then falls into her arms.

"Lydia!" Rayne shouts
"Sydney? Could you possibly try and find Mrs Martin?" Rayne asks and she nods and runs off
"Come on, Lydia. Wake up." Rayne says and closes her eyes

"Rayne." Chris says
"No, he has to wake up. I need to tell him I love him." She says trying not to cry
"Please wake up." She says.

"What happened?" Rayne opens her eyes to see Scott and Theo
"We were gonna help Sydney then she fell backwards." Rayne says
"Are you okay?" Theo asks and Rayne nods.

"Lydia? Are you okay?" Lydia's eyes start to flutter
"I'm okay... I'm fine." Lydia says as her hand shakes and Rayne holds onto it
"You remembered something." Theo says.

"Not about the Dread Doctors. Nothing about them or the surgery." Lydia shakes her head
"What was it?" Rayne asks
"My grandmother... At Eichen House." Lydia says.

"Lydia? Lydia? Oh, my God! What happened? Are you all right?" Natalie rushes in
"Mom, I'm fine. It was nothing." Lydia says
"Was it a blackout? Did you faint?" Natalie asks.

"Yeah... Yeah, I fainted. Mom, I'm fine. I promise." Lydia says and Natalie helps her daughter up and Theo holds out his hand to help Rayne
"Thank you." Rayne says
"No problem, princess." He smiles.

"You got here early?" Rayne asks Brett
"Scott messaged me saying you called your teacher a bitch and quit the class." He says
"I did." Rayne nods frantically.

"Why?" He asks
"Because she's a bitch!" Rayne exclaims and Brett chuckles
"Rayne." He groans.

"What?" Rayne groans with a smile
"You have to go back." He says
"Why?" She asks.

"Because you need it." He says
"I don't need to learn about animals to learn about what killed who and how." Rayne groans
"Okay, how about we just sit on the bleachers relax." He suggests and she nods and they sit down and decide to talk to Mason.

"I don't know, dude. Everyone at Devenford's pretty abnormal to me..." Brett says
"All right. What else is there to look for? There's heightened strength, smell, hearing, speed..." Mason lists off
"Uh, able to see in the dark." Brett adds.

"Glowing eyes." Rayne adds
"Eyes that reflect the light." Brett adds another
"Visible scorpion stingers protruding out of limbs?" Mason asks.

"Yeah... Or three-foot lizard tails." Brett says
"You know it's not the first time we are dealing with this. The lizard." Rayne says
"How come?" Brett asks.

"There was a prick who was a year older than us named Jackson. I called him Jackass."
"Of course you did." Brett says
"And he wanted the bite. He got but it changed him. Sometimes the shape reflects who you are." Rayne says.

"So Tracy was a snake?" Mason asks
"No, I'm saying that Tracy seems like the complete opposite. There would be no connection to her being snake like. Which furthers the point of her being made." She says
"Bullshit, you talking about something completely different and didn't expect us to ask questions." Brett says.

"That too." Rayne says.

"Sorry..." They hear Liam yell
"What's up with those two?" Brett asks motioning to Liam and a girl named Hayden.

"Sixth grade-- that's not the best year for Liam's anger management issues. There was a... This fight in the hallways, Liam and this other guy. Hayden sort of accidentally walked into it. And this is her yearbook photo." Mason shows them a photo
"Ah, damn." Brett winces
"Yeah." Mason nods.

"Ow. What did she do to him?" Rayne chuckles and Mason shows them the photo and they laugh.

"Does anyone here have asthma? Anyone got an inhaler?" Someone runs out onto the field
"Scott..." Rayne hears Liam says and rushes down the steps
"Where are you going?" Brett asks.

"I've got his inhaler!" Rayne shouts back
"She is always running away from you." Mason nods
"Yeah, but she looks good doing it." He smirks.

"I've got it! I've got the inhaler!" Liam shouts and him and Rayne rush into the classroom
"Scott... Scott, come on." Liam says and Rayne turns to the crowd
"Why the fuck are you all standing here? Move!" Rayne says and they all scatter.

"Yep, the show of 'the kid who can't breathe' is over you sick assholes." Rayne says and she walks back into the classroom
"Scott!" Liam says glowing his eyes and Scott uses the inhaler.

"Thanks." He says.

Rayne walks into the gym to see Theo working out. He smirks once he sees her and takes his hoodie off as approaches him
"Why haven't you said anything?" She asks
"About what?" He asks
"The fact that I saw Aiden. Why didn't you tell Scott?" Rayne asks.

"I didn't think you wanted me to considering the fact that I don't even know who he is..." Theo says
"It's none of your business." Rayne says
"Okay." He smiles.

"Are you gonna work out?" Theo asks
"No. I do just dance for ages and you know sex." Rayne smiles up at him and grabs a book out her bag. Theo looks at her and then walks up to and uses his index finger under her chin to lift her head up to look at him.

"Why are you here?" He asks
"To read my book." She says
"Really?" He asks.

"Really. You should see all hot people who come in here to work out." She says and his hand trails down to her neck and he leans down and kisses her. She stands up from the bench and wraps her arms around his neck and his go around her waist. He goes to deepen the kiss when Malia walks in and Rayne pushes him away.

"I'm gonna go." Rayne says and grabs her bag and walks out of the gym.

Rayne finds Scott and Theo in the hallway and then Malia joins them
"Where's Kira?"
"Still at the Library." Malia says.

"Stiles and Lydia are at the hospital." Rayne says
"Doing what?" Theo asks
"Lydia's trying to figure out what happened to her during the surgery." She says.

"How long are they gonna be there?" Scott asks
"They said they've just waiting for the power to go back on." Rayne says and Theo and Scott look at each other
"Oh god what?" Rayne asks.

The four of them run into the hospital 
"You guys try to find Stiles and Lydia. I'm gonna find my mom." Scott says. Rayne and Theo run up to the roof to see a chimera attacking Stiles.

Rayne rushes to Stiles' aid when the chimera when it throws her edge of the room
"This seems a little excessive." Rayne chokes out and tries to fight back when he gets thrown off her by Theo and they fight.

Then Theo slashes his throat and Stiles helps Rayne up
"Stiles... You can't say anything. Please, don't say anything." Theo pleads
"Why not?" Stiles asks.

"Because I never said anything about Donovan."
