"Of course you're still the team captain, you got your grades up just like Coach told you to, right?" Stiles says and him, Scott and Rayne walk to the lacrosse pitch.

"Yeah, but he never told me I was back on the team, he just told me to show up at tryouts today." Scott says
"We got bigger things to deal with anyway. Did you tell Argent yet?" Stiles asks.

"I texted him but he didn't get back to me."
"You texted Argent that his sister is alive over text?" Rayne asks
"I didn't have the money to call France." He says.

"Yeah, you think you got money problems? Try paying for an MRI and a visit to Eichen House." Stiles says
"Another notice?" Scott says
"Yeah. This one said 'final.'" He says.

"Now, what the hell are we doing here, anyway? We got like, 117 million problems, and worrying about our status on the lacrosse team is not one of them." Stiles says and Rayne turns to the pitch
"It is now." She says and the guys turn.

"Who the hell is that?" Stiles asks
"Nice, Liam! You might just be our first-ever freshman captain." They hear someone say
"Okay, maybe we should just practice a little bit..." Stiles says and begin to practice and Rayne laughs.

Rayne walks into Coach's office
"Hey." Rayne says
"Raindrop! Great to see you! I have a gift." He says and hands her a whistle.

"You're officially assistant captain, you'll be helping me with tryouts today." He says
"Really? Thank you!" Rayne says
"Anything for you Raindrop." He says.

"I'm gonna be more annoying than you are, Coach." She says looking at the whistle
"What?" He asks and she looks up at him
"What?" She asks.

"An axe-murderer?" Kira asks
"A family-murdering axe-murderer!" Stiles says
"I already heard about it." Scott says.

"Wait, what? You did? How?" Stiles asks
"My mom called me. She knew we'd see it on the news." Scott says
"Perfect! Let's go!" He says.

"Whoa, whoa-- we've got econ. in five minutes..." Scott says
"All right, did you forget the part about the family-murdering axe-murderer?" Stiles asks
"Did you forget your dad's the sheriff? They want us to stay out of it." He says.

"Are you guys kidding me?" Stiles asks and looks at Rayne who looks at the ground
"There's a family-murdering axe-murderer and we're not going to do anything about it?" He asks
"Maybe we should just let the adults handle it..." Kira says.

"So, the three of you, you just want to stay here, school, go to class?" He asks and they look at him
"Never heard anything so irresponsible in my life!" He says and walks away
"See you at tryouts?" Scott asks.

"Right, I'll leave you lovebirds alone." Rayne says and walks away.

"It was the first kiss since our actual first kiss." Scott says as they get changed
"That's good! You kissed her!" Rayne says leaning on the locker with her whistle around her neck
"I did... but I didn't..." He says.

"Was-was it on the lips?" Stiles asks
"Yeah..."
"Was there tongue?" Rayne asks.

"No, I... It was like how you kiss your grandmother when you're five." Scott says
"Oh! Chaste. You gave her a chaste kiss." Stiles says
"Yeah, and now it's... It's all weird. It's all completely weird, and I... I don't know what to do. Maybe I should text her..." Scott says.

"No! Just no with the texts." Rayne shakes her head
"As a reminder, it's an open tryout today-- all positions available. This is a rebuilding season, people! Jackson's gone, Lahey's gone... Greenburg, the one guy I actually wanted gone, was held back... again." Coach says and goes to blow the whistle but Rayne does
"Get your asses on the field!" She shouts.

"Terrible! Horrifying! Pathetic! Unbelievably pathetic!" Coach says as they run past
"Is that everyone?" He asks and then Stiles runs out of breath and falls down
"Yup, that's everyone." Rayne says.

"I got you." Scott says
"Who came in first?" Stiles asks
"He isn't human! What is he? Like, a Werecheetah? Does that even exist? Is that a thing?" Stiles asks.

"I think he's just good..." Scott asks
"I'm gonna puke. Take me somewhere." Stiles says and Scott hear someone talking.

"Who's that?" He heard Liam say
"That's Rayne Stilinski. She is one of the most hottest girls in this school. But I wouldn't waste your breath." Garrett says
"Why?" He asks and Garrett laughs.

"Because of two things. 1, you're a freshman, she's a junior. 2, she has those two always with her, ones her brother the other one might as well be." He says
"That's it?" Liam asks
"Fine. If you want to be as dumb as you want. Be my guest." He says.

"What's wrong?" Stiles asks
"He likes Rayne." Scott says
"Oh hell no." Stiles goes to stand up but hurls over again.

Then the whistle blows again
"Right. You. In goal, others line up." She says and everyone does and Stiles takes the first shot and throws it exactly in the goalies stick.
"Great." She mutters and Liam goes and Rayne stands beside Stiles and Scott.

"You know, maybe he's only good in goal. You know, just totally useless on the rest of the field." Stiles says and Liam takes the shot making it into the goal
"YES!" Coach shouts
"Maybe he's just perfect at everything. I hate this kid!" Stiles says.

"You don't have to hate him. The team needs new players." Scott justifies
"What about a new team captain?" Stiles asks and Scott takes a shot and hits the side of the goal
"Nice, McCall!" Garrett says and Stiles and Rayne turn to him.

"Hey, Garrett... Shut up!" They say and Rayne flips him off.

They all go again and again with Liam making it in the net the whole time but Scott missing every single shot
"Dude, what is going on with you?" Stiles asks
"I don't know, I'm having a really off-day." Scott says.

"Off-day? You were dying out there! I feel actual physical pain watching you." Stiles emphasise
"I didn't see you make any shots..." Rayne says
"Yes, that's because I'm terrible, though, Scott! You-- you are the Alpha." Stiles turns to Scott.

"Not on the field. I'm a human on the field." Scott says
"Well, human-you is kind of sucking at the moment. So, do you think there is any way you can use just, like, a little tiny bit of wolf power?" Stiles asks
"It's cheating..." Scott says.

"I know it is! It's just, I hate seeing this little freshman come in and steal all your glory after you worked your tushie off! I hate it!" Stiles says
"He's not going to steal all the glory." Scott says
"Yes! Hot damn! Yeah!" Coach says then blows the whistle.

"Hustle!" Coach says
"McCall and Stilinski, grab the long sticks! You're covering goal for two-on-ones." He says.

"We still don't know if he's a Werewolf... And, if he is, he'd just be cheating, and we'd just be cheating the cheater." Stiles says
"But he's not. I'd know-- I'd be able to catch a scent or something." He says
"Maybe you need to get closer..."

"I think you're about to get a chance." Rayne says seeing Liam in the line.

Garrett goes but gets caught by Scott and Stiles and ends up on the ground
"That's my boys! Those two are like sons to me." Coach says and another player goes and the same thing happens
"YES!" Rayne shouts.

"That's how you do it! That's how it's done!" He shouts. Then Liam goes up and gets it past them
"That was luck!" Malia says
"Oh, no, Malia... Don't get involved..." Stiles mutters.

"Do-over!" She shouts
"Sweetheart, there are no do-overs-- this is a practice." Coach says
"Ten bucks on Scott and Stiles!" She says.

"I'll take that action." He says
"Hey! Get back in there, Liam!" He says and Liam goes again but this time but gets fully tackled by Scott and rolling over Scott's back onto the ground.

"Holy fuck." Rayne says and rushes over
"Don't move! Don't touch him!" Coach shouts
"I'm okay, Coach. I'm all right." Liam says and tries to stand up but then Scott and Stiles catch him.

"I think it's my leg." He says
"I think we better get him to the nurse." Stiles says
"I'll make sure they don't tackle him on the way." Rayne says and they rush off the field.

"Uh, hi, Mom..." Scott says awkwardly as Rayne waves at her and then Liam gets put into a wheelchair
"We will have a talk about this later."
"Don't worry, Liam. We'll take good care of you." Melissa says and walks off with him
"I got to get going, I promised Malia I'd help her study." Stiles says.

"Sure. I want to check on him, anyway." Scott says
"Hey... I don't need to say that it wasn't your fault, right?" Stiles says
"I don't know."

"Scott, if you had used any wolf power, that kid wouldn't be limping-- he'd be crawling back to the other half of his body!" Stiles says
"If I hadn't been so worried about being captain, he wouldn't be hurt, either." Scott says
"It's okay to want something for yourself once in a while. Team captain, Alpha Werewolf... You're still only human." Stiles says.

"Don't be so hard on yourself. Stiles' is right. You're only human and it's okay to be selfish once in a while." Rayne says hugging him and catching up to Stiles.

Rayne knocked on Stiles' door then he told her to come in
"Listen, I'm going on ride. Okay?" She says and he nods
"Okay. You good?" He asks.

"Yeah. Just need to clear my head." She says and he nods
"Have fun." Malia smiles
"Have fun kids. Use protection." Rayne says and closes the door.

Rayne walks to her motorbike and wraps a leather jacket around her then put the helmet on. She then drives to the abandoned distillery and walks inside, she goes to a corner with a blanket and a pillow in it and sat down.

She opens her laptop and scrolls through the pictures.

Pictures of her and Aiden.

She wrapped herself more comfortably in the jacket that was once his and sighs.

Then she got a phone call.
