Rayne and Stiles run through the woods when they bump into someone and they scream
"Holy shit Scott!" Rayne says and they all pant
"I think we found something." Stiles says
"So did I." Scott says and they all walk back to the den

"It's a coyote den." Stiles says
"Werecoyote." Scott says
"You see this? This is Malia's. Remember? It's the same one she was wearing in the photo." Stiles says picking up a blue jacket.

"We shouldn't be in here." He says
"What do you mean?" Rayne asks
"She's not going to come back now. We just invaded her home-- our scent's going to be everywhere." He replies.

"If she's not going to come back here, where's she going to go?" Stiles asks
"I don't know..." He says
"Can you track her now? You think you got her scent?" Rayne asks.

"Maybe... But I'm better at this when I'm a full wolf... And I'm still worried that if I do it, I won't be able to turn back." Scott says
"The door's still open." Stiles says.

"If I can't get to Derek, we're gonna have to find someone else to help." Scott says
"This is basically a crime scene, right? I think it might be a little out of my boss' league..." He says
"And more in my dad's." Stiles says.

"You're sure it was her?" Noah asks
"I looked her right in the eyes, and they glowed, just like mine." Scott says
"It makes sense, Dad." Stiles says.

"But it wasn't a girl-- it was a four-legged coyote, right?" He asks
"Well, okay... But yeah, see, that's the point that we don't exactly have figured out yet." Stiles says
"Okay, but if it was a full moon, and she did change while her mom was driving, then anything could have happened." Rayne says.

"Horrible things could have happened! Ripping, shredding, tearing things." Stiles says
"Which is probably what caused the accident." Scott says
"Think about it Dad, all right? They're driving. Malia starts to change. She goes out of control, the mom crashes, and everybody dies." Stiles says.

"Except for Malia." Rayne says
"She blames herself, all right? Goes off running into the woods, and eventually... becomes trapped inside the body of a coyote." Stiles says
"That makes sense..." Noah says.

"In a Chinese folktale!" He excalims
"All of you, this is-this is insane."
"I need this kept quiet. The two of you? Not a word. I don't want anyone hearing about this. I especially don't want Mr. Tate hearing about this." He says to them.

"Scott? Scott!" Noah says and Scott turns his head
"Sorry... What did you say?" He asks and then a car pulls up
"Aw, hell... Mr. Tate." He says and Mr Tate takes the blanket in his hands.

"Mr. Tate?" Agent McCall says
"It's hers..." He says
"All right, wait here." McCall says.

"Dad-" Scott says
"I'll talk to you in a minute. I wouldn't mind hearing how your mom's okay with you running around in the woods this late." He interrupts.

"He has such a punchable face." Rayne says.

"Here's where we found the den. It's right in the middle of the hiking trails." Stiles says to Allison pointing to the iPad
"Well, that could narrow it down. Coyotes travel in fixed trails. But, I think you're right about her not going back to the den. Coyotes don't like wolves, and they're really smart-- if they don't want to be heard, they actually walk on their toes." Allison says.

"Coyotes tip-toe?" Stiles asks
"They tip-toe." She nods and then the bell rings
"I gotta go, but send me the pinned location." She says and walks out of the calls.

"Okay." Scott says and then they walk to their desks and Rayne notices Kira talking to Scott
"Lovebirds." Rayne whispers to her brother and he turns and chuckles.

"All right, everyone, let's get started! We were just talking about internment camps and prisoners of war. There's a passage in our reading that I'd like to go over in more detail. Who would like to come up and read aloud for us? Mr. Stilinski?" Mr Yukimura asks and Stiles looks at him.

"Oh, maybe someone else could?" He suggests
"Everyone participates in my class, Mr. Stilinski." Mr Yukimura says
"Okay..." He says and then gets to the top of the class and reads the book.

"Okay, okay... Come on, come on..." He says and then Rayne pokes Scott with her pen and he looks up and they both get out their seats
"Stiles? You okay?" Scott asks and then he nearly falls and Rayne holds onto his arm.

"We should take him to the nurse's office." Rayne says and Mr Yukimura nods and they go into the restroom
"Stiles? Look at me, man. Is this a panic attack?" Scott asks
"It's a dream, it's a dream, it's just a dream..." Stiles repeats.

"No, it's not-- this is real. You're here. You're here with me. Okay, what do you do? I mean, like, how do you tell if you're awake or dreaming?" Scott asks
"Your fingers-- you count your fingers. You have extra fingers in dreams."
"That's what I do when he wakes up and doesn't know." Rayne nods.

"How many do I have? Hey! Look at me. Come on, Stiles. Look at my hands and count with me." Scott says
"One... two..." Stiles says
"Keep going." Rayne says.

"Three... four..." Stiles pants
"Five..." Scott encourages
"Six... seven..." He says.

"Eight..." Rayne says
"Nine... ten..." Stiles says
"Ten. Ten." Scott says and his breathing goes back to normal and he slides down the wall.

"What the hell is happening to me?" He asks
"We'll figure it out. You're going to be okay." Scott says
"Am I? Are you?" Stiles asks.

"Scott, you can't transform... Allison's being haunted by her dead aunt... And I'm straight up losing my mind. We can't do this. We can't-we can't help Malia. We can't help anyone." Stiles says and Rayne sits beside him and hugs him
"We can try. We can always try." Scott says.

"Wait Scott? Can you hear that?" Rayne asks
"Malia." He says
"And Kira." She says.

"A couple of students said they saw it running across the field and back into the woods. Thank God nobody got hurt." Noah Stilinski says
"What happens if she does hurt someone?" Stiles asks
"Most likely, they'll have to put it down." He says.

"Put her down? Dad, try not to forget there's a girl in there, one that you'll be killing!" Rayne says
"Come on, you aren't back to not believing, are you?" Stiles asks
"I believe there are a lot of things I don't understand yet. But that doesn't mean that everything and anything imaginable is suddenly possible!" Their father says.

"Now, are you one hundred percent sure that this is a girl and not an animal?" He asks
"Yes. Because Scott's sure." Stiles says and they turn to see Scott
"Scott, you been listening?" He asks with his head not facing Scott and Scott gives a nod.

"All right. Let's get this figured out. Come on." Noah says.

"Scott, I think I know what she was looking for." Stiles says and taking something out his bag
"You took the creepy doll from the car?" Rayne asks
"Yeah, I thought you could use it! You know, for, like, her scent..." Stiles says.

"Where did you get that? Where did you find this? It belonged to my daughter." Mr Tate says
"Sorry." Noah says going past them
"Mr. Tate, I don't know how you heard about this-- if you have your own police scanner or what-- but you can't be here." He says and then goes to lead him out but then feels something and he moves a piece of Mr Tate's jacket to see a gun.

"I have a permit." He says
"California schools are gun-free zones, permit or no permit. You need to leave, Mr. Tate. Now." Noah says
"You find that animal! You find that thing!" Mr Tate exclaims.

"Are you okay?" Rayne asks Kira
"Yeah, well I got chased by a coyote so... as well as I can be." Kira awkwardly chuckles and Rayne smiles at her.

"Xylazine. It's a tranquilizer for horses. For a Werecoyote, expect it to work within seconds. I only have three. So, whoever's shooting needs to be a damn good shot." Deaton says
"Allison's a perfect shot." Scott says
"She used to be." Isaac says.

"She can do it." Scott says
"If we manage to find the thing." Isaac replies
"Okay, what is the point of him? Seriously, I mean, what is his purpose? Aside from the persistent negativity and the scarf?" Stiles rants.

"What's up with the scarf, anyway? It's sixty-five degrees out!" He says
"I think he looks pretty handsome." Rayne says
"Thank you, Rayne. Look, maybe I'm asking a question no one here wants to ask-- how do we turn a coyote back into a girl when she hasn't been a girl in eight years?" Isaac asks.

"I can do it." Scott says
"You can?" Rayne asks
"You remember the night that Peter trapped us in the school? In the gym, he was able to make me turn using just his voice. Deucalion did the same thing in the distillery." He says.

"This is a Werecoyote, Scott. Who knows if it'll even work? If you can find someone who can teach you?" Deaton asks
"That's why you called Derek first." Stiles says
"Yeah, I could try it on my own... But, right now, I'm too scared to even change into just a Werewolf." Scott says.

"We need a real Alpha." Stiles says
"You know what I mean! An Alpha who can do Alpha things. You know, an Alpha who can get it going! You know, get it-"
"Up?" Isaac cuts him off.

"Great. I'm an Alpha with... performance issues..."
"Rayne?" Isaac asks and she shakes her head
"Is there anyone else besides Derek who could help?" Deaton asks.

"I wouldn't trust Peter..." Isaac says
"Maybe the twins?" Stiles suggests
"They're not Alphas anymore. After what Jennifer did, almost killing them? It broke that part of them." Deaton says.

"Yeah, but what if they know how to do it?" Stiles asks
"Nobody's seen them for weeks." Scott asks
"Actually, that's not totally true." Stiles says and turns to Rayne and then everyone turns to her.

"I might know."

Rayne opens the door to the loft to see it empty
"They said they'd meet us here..." Rayne says and then Scott gets punched in the face and thrown on the ground continuously

"I thought you guys were gonna teach me to roar?" Scott groans
"We are! You do it by giving in-" Aiden says
"Giving in and letting go. That's how Deucalion taught us control." Ethan finishes.

"Hey, you know, that's funny-- I've actually tried something like this one time, using a heart monitor and lacrosse balls... But, you're right, beating the living crap out of him is probably a lot better..." Stiles says as him and Rayne watch from afar.

"That's actually the plan? You kick my ass?" Scott asks
"You're afraid to turn." Aiden says
"We're gonna make you. You turn, then you kick our asses!" Ethan says.

"And then, you roar." Aiden says and roars and Rayne looks down and Stiles looks at her in disbelief
"Rayne, why are your eyes glowing?" He asks
"There not, I just can't watch this." She replies

"You don't think you can let go with us?" Ethan asks
"You think you're going to hurt us?" Aiden asks pushing him
"Come on, McCall! Give it your all!" Ethan then pushes Scott again.

"We can always heal!" He says and Scott tries but was unsuccessful
"You're an Alpha. You want to roar like one? You've got to give in, full-throttle. You've got to be the monster. Become the beast." Aiden says
"Become everything you're afraid of. That's what gives you power. It gives you strength." Ethan says.

"Giving in doesn't make you the bad guy..." Aiden says
"So long as you can control it." Ethan says
"Sometimes, control's a little overrated." Aiden replies and kicks him in the stomach.

"Come on, Scott. Fight back!" Stiles says
"What if I can't control it? What if I can't turn back?" Scott asks
"Then it takes over. You become Malia. You get further and further away from being human. You turn into an animal, or worse-" Ethan says.

"You turn into Peter." Aiden says and Scott stands up and runs up to Aiden but he slams him on the table and punches him again and again and Ethan and Rayne run up and hold his arm
"What? I thought we were helping him." Aiden says
"You help too much." They both say.

🪐

They all park at in the woods and they all look at each other
"Anyone else think we night be doing more harm than good?" Lydia asks
"We're trying to keep a father from killing his own daughter." Scott says.

"Actually... we're trying to keep a guy from killing a coyote, who is actually his daughter... who we don't know how to change from a coyote back to his daughter..." Isaac says
"Again with the not helping!" Stiles says
"Did you bring it?" Scott asks Allison and she takes out the tranquilliser gun from her dad.

"Right. Let's do this." Rayne says.

🪐

"Now remember, you can do this. I'm only hear for a plan b." Rayne says
"Yeah." Scott says
"Scott. You're doing this. Even if I have to stab you in the side for you to roar. I will." She says.

"Thanks." Scott says and then gets a voicemail from Stiles and puts it on speaker
"Scott? It's me. You got to call me back as soon as you can. It wasn't Malia's doll-- it was her sister's. Malia left it at the car for her sister. It's like bringing flowers to a grave, okay? And we stole the flowers. So, that's all she's trying to do, right? Bring the doll back to the grave, to the car wreck. That's where she's headed-- the car wreck." Stiles says.

"Then let's go." Rayne says and then hear running and see Malia and they chase after her taking a different path and then they catch up to her and Scott roars and Rayne smiles and then Malia transforms.

"You did it Scott." She says and hugs him.
