Chapter 6

-Lucy's P.O.V-

We'd been working on the project for about two hours and hadn't done much. We both had gotten distracted by our own conversation. I found out that me and Bobby had a lot in common, movies, music (some) and same kind of life where our parents were always away or at work. Surprisingly enough, I felt comfortable around him after only two days. Strange.

I groaned in annoyance and threw down my pencil. I buried my head into my hands and let out a loud sigh. Bobby snickered and stopped writing on a separate piece of paper and scooted up closer to me to examine what I had done.

"It doesn't have to be perfect you know" He reassured me.

"Yes it does, it doesn't even look close to a human heart" Art clearly wasn't my best subject. "At this point I'm just going to draw a girly heart and get it over and done with"

"How about I take over drawing this and you finish the facts?" Bobby suggested. I quickly agreed and sat where he once was. I watched him as he began to draw, noticing that he bit his tongue lightly when concentrating, just like I do. I had to point it out.

"My dad use to tell me if I did that, I'd bite if the end of my tongue" I said smiling over at him, Bobby looked over at me.

"Do what?" He questioned.

"Bite your tongue when doing something"

"You too? God my parents can't stand when I do that either" Bobby told me. "You're like the only other person that does that"

"Break time, dinner is ready sweetheart!" My grandmother announced when entering my room. I put down the pen and stood up. "You too Bobby"

"You didn't have to do me any-" Bobby began to say. My grandmother put her hand up signalling for him to stop talking.

"If you're in this house and I'm cooking, you're eating. No one has an empty stomach here. I don't care if I've known you a day or 10 years. Now let's go"  She ordered.

-Bobby's P.O.V-

I stood back with a frown, letting Lucy and her grandmother go down the stairs first. I noticed that her grandmother had difficulty in getting down each step, Lucy holding onto her. It was quite sad to see. Once they reached the bottom step, I followed them down.

When I entered the kitchen, the smell of the food hit me instantly and it smelt great. My stomach began to rumble, thank god she offered me some because I was starving. I took a seat opposite Lucy, her grandmother at the head of the table.

"Thank you Mrs Morley, it smells amazing" I thanked.

"I told you , call me Doris dear" She told me. I smiled apologetically, grabbed my fork and began to eat.

"Would you like a drink Bobby?" Lucy asked me. I nodded.

"Please"

Lucy made her way over to the fridge to grab us drinks. I went to put another spoonful of food in my mouth when Lucy's grandmother started coughing violently. I began to pat her on the back as Lucy rushed over, looking anxious. She asked if I'd be able to grab a glass of water and I did, Lucy rubbing her grandma's back, telling her she was going to be ok. I found the glass and filled it. I came back and handed Doris the glass, which she thanked me for.

"Wrong hole, no need to panic" She told us once she had gotten her breath back. She grabbed ahold of Lucy's hand when she sat down and gave her a reassuring look. I saw Lucy wore a concerned and worried expression, her eyes glassy.

"Eat, I'm fine" She told Lucy. Lucy gave her a weak smile and continued eating, cautiously watching her grandmother.

"This is amazing Mrs Mor....Doris" I complimented. The dish was really good.

"Why thank you, I should've been a chef, almost was one"

"What happened?" I asked.

"I gave birth to my daughter and decided I'd rather be at home and be a mother, than be out doing a job that I'd probably end up hating down the line and have my children miss me" She explained to me. "I just taught my children to be business motivated, they can bring in the money, I can rest" I laughed along with her and Lucy.

"You two seem pretty close" I pointed out.

"Aaah yes. Two years after Lucy was born, her mother just had to get back into work" Doris rolled her eyes. "I refuse to let her palm Lucy off with some nanny. So, me and my husband moved closer and Lucy stayed with us almost everyday"

"This is the woman that raised me" Lucy beamed over at her grandmother. How sweet.

"Did I do a good job Bobby?" I turned to Lucy, who was looking anywhere but at me, more than likely from embarrassment. That's when I really saw how beautiful she actually is. Now I can admire when someone looked good. Her skin had a nice tanned tone to it, her lips were full, her hazel eyes were captivating. How she carried herself is also what made her beautiful. I realised I was staring a little too hard and turned my attention back to the plate Infront of me.

"Yeah" I mumbled.

-Lucy's P.O.V-

"I should get going, I have to meet the guys and Lisa at golf n'stuff" Bobby said. I dried her hands with the towel once I finished washing the last plate.

"Why don't you go with him Lucy?" My grandma suggested. Is she crazy?

"No I'm good, I'm not the biggest fan of his friends" I truthfully told her. Bobby side eyed me.

"Oh thanks" He joked and gently shoved me.

"Not you, I was wrong about you but the others..nah"

"Fair enough"

"Lucy you can't stay cooped up in here all the time. I'm telling you Bobby she never goes out anymore, always wants to be with me. I feel guilty the girl barely has a social life" My grandma began to say. I shot her and look and she smiled before wandering off.

"Don't your friends invite you places?" Bobby asked curiously.

"They do, I just choose not to go" I admitted.

"Why?" I sighed and turned to him.

"My grandma is really sick. We don't know why. And I'm just scared that if I leave her she'll..y'know" I looked down at my feet, not even wanting to think about it. Bobby placed both of his hands on my shoulders.

"Hey, I get it. But that shouldn't stop you from living your life" Bobby told me. I shrugged. "I'm sure she'll want you to go have fun every now and then"

"I guess so" I muttered. Bobby got the hint that I no longer wanted to speak on the subject, he took his hands off of my shoulders and walked into the living room to grab his jacket.

"It was nice meeting you Doris" He waved over at her, I followed him to the door.

"You too dear, will you be back anytime soon?" She quizzed.

"Only if you're cooking" He flashed her a wide smile which she gladly returned. I opened the door for him.

"I'll see you in school and we'll arrange when to get together again" He spoke.

"See you in school" I went to close the door but he stopped it with his hand.

"Just so you know. If you can't seem to talk to your 'girls' I'm here. I totally get what you're going through. But that's a story for another time" I smiled at him.

"Thanks Bobby, bye" He waved as he walked down the steps and hopped in his motorcycle. I watched him drive off before closing the door.

"Nice boy, cute too" My grandma said.

"Stop it! We're just partners for the project" I informed her with a serious look. "Besides he already told you, he has a girlfriend"

"Yeah okay!" My grandmother snorted and grabbed the remote. I rolled my eyes and took a seat next to her.

Hey guys, just a quick one. Im curious, is there anything you guys would like to see take place in this story? Stay blessed xo
