Chapter 26

-Bobby's P.O.V-

We were currently in Golf N' Stuff, we all decided to spend the whole day here and do something productive this weekend instead of going to Dutch's and getting hammered. Me and the guys were playing Pac-Man, competing to get the best score and the girls were somewhere around, probably in the Photo Booth. So far I was in the lead, of course. Jimmy falling last.

"How?!" Dutch yelled as the 'game over' sign came up. He was so close to beating me, yet so far.

"Better luck next time" I laughed, patting him on his shoulder.

"My turn!" Tommy said, pushing past us to get to the machine. I could hear the girls being overly loud, that was no normal conversation. I turned to find them arguing with Ella and Lauren. Who seemed to not be doing much arguing back.

"Dutch, your girls got company" I tapped him.

"These two are getting on my last nerve" He spat. We all pulled Tommy away from the game and walked over to diffuse the situation.

"What's the problem now?" Dutch sighed, wrapping a protective arm around Georgia.

"They're demanding she goes with them. And they can't seem to take a hint, she doesn't want to go with you two idiots" Lisa smugly stated. I wrapped an arm around her waist but furrowed my eyebrows at her.

"Look you don't understand, Georgia please just come with us and we'll explain on the way" Lauren said. The two of them looked upset. Ella wasn't doing much of the talking like she usually does.

"I'm not going anywhere with you two, I know a set up when I see one" Georgia spat, leaning back into Dutch.

"Yeah, I bet the other bitch is just out there waiting" Tommy added, giving Dutch a high-five. Lauren lunged forward, Ella holding her back. I looked over at Tommy and frowned, shaking my head at him. He put his head down when he noticed.

"Look maybe if you just explain to her now?" Ali added, trying her best to keep everyone calm.

"But it's no one else's business!" Ella added, sighing in frustration.

"Georgia please" Lauren pleaded, her eyes becoming glassy.

"Read my damn lips. I'm not going anywhere with yo-"

"Grandma Doris passed away" Ella blurted out. That caught my attention. My eyes grew wide. "Lucy's grandma died, yesterday" My face dropped. Poor Lucy.

"You're lying!" Georgia covered her mouth with a shaky hand.

"Why would we lie" Lauren let a single tear slip from her eye.

"Look I'm willing to put aside our differences so we can go and be there for Lucy, for old times sake. She needs us" Ella told her.

Georgia looked back at Dutch with an apologetic look before rushing of with the two girls. Dutch began to call her back before ranting about how the situation was 'bullshit', my anger growing slightly. How could he be so inconsiderate. I walked away from the group, resting my hands on the empty air hockey table and hung my head. My mind began to race, I made a promise to that woman! I still thought Lucy had time with her.

"Bobby, you ok man?" Johnny came over.

"Yeah I'm fine, it's just sad" I told him. "She was such a kind woman"

"That's not just it is it?"

"I'm concerned for Lucy." Jonny sighed. "I can't help it Johny. You never saw how close they were. I know I can't be around her but what if she needs me. I'm the only one that truly understands her pain right now. Surely I'm not doing wrong by that?"

"I understand. Do what you think's right Bobby"

-Lucy's P.O.V-

I sat up against the headboard of my bed, holding a pillow tightly to my chest. I just finished crying for the 100th time. I could already tell I looked awful, I didn't have to look in a mirror to prove that. I pulled the sleeves of my cardigan down and wiped my eyes. I hadn't slept all night, I couldn't. I didn't feel like eating or doing anything. Since returning from the hospital, I shut myself away in my room. Not wanting to speak to a single soul, I hadn't even changed out of my grey sweats and white tank top.

I glanced over at the picture on my bedside table. An old photograph of me and my grandmother. I must've been about five years old, in my hand I held some sort of ornament, my grandmothers arm wrapped tightly around me and she gazed into the camera, her head leaning on my shoulder. I couldn't bring myself to accept that she is gone. It didn't feel real. I heard a knock at my bedroom door.

"Go away" I mumbled.

"No, we won't go away" Lauren's head peered from behind the door as she slowly opened it. She rushed over to me with open arms, Ella followed close behind her.

"We're so sorry Lucy" Ella and Lauren wrapped their arms around my shoulder. "We brought a gift that might cheer you up"

"Nothing can cheer me up" I mumbled.

"Well I can try my best" I heard a familiar voice say. I looked up and saw Georgia slowly entering my room. I forced a smile as she came and sat by my feet, comfortingly rubbing my leg. Having them all here did lift my spirits just a tad. "I can't tell you how sorry I am"

"You guys didn't have to come" I tried to say.

"Don't be stupid. We all love you and your family" Lauren told me, hugging me a little tighter. We let silence take over for a few minutes, the girls holding me.

"Do you guys remember when she had us over to decorate Lucy's room a couple years back, and we had no idea what to do" Georgia began to reminisce.

"Oh my god yes! And she started a little paint fight with us. That was so much fun" Ella added. "And then blamed us for it!" We all laughed at the memory.

"What about the time she offered to take us all to the park and spent her last few dollars just to get us all ice cream"

"What did she use to call us?" Georgia asked and thought.

"Her four little divas" we spoke at the same time. I let out a long sigh.

"She hated that we were fighting" I told them all, each of them turning to face me. We all wore shameful expression

"I'm sorry" Georgia mumbled.

"No let's not talk about that. That can be discussed another time" Lauren stated, Georgia and Ella nodded in agreement.

"I can't believe she's gone" Ella's voice broke, causing us all to start sobbing, we couldn't hold back any longer. The four of embracing each other.

-Bobby's P.O.V-

The group ended up back at Johnny's place, playing spin the bottle. But I couldn't seem to enjoy it. My mind preoccupied with the news from earlier. There was no question what my priority should be right now.

"Where are you going?" Lisa whined as I got up to put my jacket on. She stood up to follow me to the door.

"I just have to be somewhere right now?" I told her, not looking back.

"What's more important than being here with me?" She asked with attitude. With all her strength she spun me around to face her and tried to kiss me. I turned my head so that her kiss landed on my cheek.

"I really have to go, I'll see you tomorrow" She let out a shriek and stomped back into the other room. I didn't have time for her shit. I quickly opened the door and left.
