Chapter 14

-Lucy's P.O.V-

The bell sounded, finally school had finished. I was so eager to get  back home and see if the doctor had called and if they had, hopefully with good news. I picked up my bag and walked towards my locker, there were things I needed to retrieve before I leave. I could feel a presence behind me as I put in my locker combination.

"I never got to ask you about the beach" I grabbed my jacket and books out of my locker.

"What about?" I questioned. Lauren stood with her arms folded.

"You and Bobby" I rolled my eyes.

"Nothing happened we just bumped into each other and we fell. That's it" I tried to walk away but she blocked my path.

"I saw how you were looking at him. That's not just a crush, you've developed feelings for this guy"

"I have not" I whined. "Like I said, it'll blow over"

"Lucy please you couldn't take your eyes off of him before that" she said a little louder this time.

"Keep your voice down!" I spat. Lauren went to continue the conversation but I looked past her shoulder and saw Dutch,Bobby and Jimmy coming our way. "Shut up!"  She shot me a confused look until we heard Dutch's voice.

"Unless I tell you that a note is for you. Don't read it!" Dutch spat, tapping Lauren on the shoulder.

"Oh I'm ever so sorry, I thought it was for me" She sarcastically replied. Dutch huffed, clearly annoyed with her.

"Where is Georgia anyway?"

"Why? So you can make her scream your name again?" Lauren's lips curled up into a mischievous smirk. I let out a chortle and quickly lifted one of my book to hide my face.

"You think that's funny?" Dutch asked in a serious tone. I lowered the book just enough so that my eyes were visible and nodded slowly. Pissing him of even more.

"In all fairness Dutch, you should've just gave her the note yourself" Jimmy blurted out.

"No one asked you" Dutch gave him a light shove. "Where is she anyway?"

"Math" My voice low.

"What did you just say?" He leaned closer to me.

"She said math Dutch, are you going deaf or something?" Bobby chimed in, clearly seeing me growing uncomfortable with Dutch. I glanced over at him and mouthed 'thank you'. Bobby mouthed back 'you're welcome' I smiled to myself on the inside.

"Now you know where she is, go away you nasty snake" Lauren said rudely.

"Hiss hiss bitch" Dutch swiftly said whilst walking away, Jimmy and Bobby following him. I turned to Lauren, seeing her mouth hanging open in shock.

I made it home after leaving the school grounds. I pulled up to my house, seeing a lot of cars parked on the street, a little more than usual. I shrugged to myself and took out my keys, making sure I had everything with me before I got out of the car. I knocked my front door twice, something I did to let my family know it was me walking through the door and not some stranger. To my surprise, all of my aunts and uncles on my mother's side had turned up, some of them with their significant others. I greeted each and every one of them when I entered the living room. They all stood opposite the couch. The only time we really see them is over the holidays or special occasions.

I walked over to my grandmother, who pat the space beside her. I quickly took a seat. My mom and dad came over and sat next to me. My grandma took a hold of both of my hands and sighed.

"How was school sweetheart" She asked.

"School was great" I replied with a smile. My smile quickly faded once I noticed how down she looked. I quickly scanned the room, everyone staring back at me with dull expressions.

"What's going on?"

~

I glanced over at the clock. 1:00 am. Everyone had gone to bed but me. My aunts and uncles went back to the hotel they were supposedly staying in. I slumped over to my dad's liquor cabinet and pulled out a bottle of my dad's Absolut vodka. He's definitely going to kill me when he finds out. I quickly unscrewed the cap, took a deep breath and took a big sip. I winced as the liquid burned my throat once I swallowed. I had never drank before, but there's a first time for everything. I frowned and made my way back over to the sofa, taking the bottle with me.

I reached over for the phone and pulled out our phone book. I called each of the girls, hoping at least one of them would answer. I knew it was a long shot considering the time. As I expected no one answered. I needed someone to talk to. I quickly shuffled through the little pieces of paper with random numbers written down until I found the one I was looking for. I hesitated. Should I? I sniffed, took another swing and dialled.

-Bobby's P.O.V-

I let out a groan. I desperately needed some water. I opened my eyes seeing Lisa's hair. I smiled to myself and kissed her head before taking my hand off of her waist. I sat up and rubbed my face. I reached over and pulled on my sweats. Once I made my way down the stairs I walked straight into the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge. I let out a satisfied sigh feeling the cold liquid slip down my throat.

My head shot towards the sitting room, hearing the phone ring. I turned to look at the clock. 1:10 am. Who the hell could that be? I slowly walked over and picked up the phone.

"Hello?" I heard ruffling on the other end before the person answered.

"Bobby, is that you?" I heard a female voice whisper.

"Lucy?!"

"Yeah"

"Why are you calling so late, are you ok?"

"I just really need to talk to someone right now" Her voice broke on the other end of the phone. "I'm really sorry. I have no one else. I tried the girls but no one answered" I grew concerned.

"No it's fine. I'll tell you what, meet me at the beach in fifteen minutes, you'll be safe" I told her.

"Ok, thank you" She hung up the phone and I quickly, but quietly rushed upstairs to change into something warmer.
