Unexpected

Everyone's on good terms!
-----

Peter smiled happily as he finished his spider bot. "Mr. Stark I think I did it!" Peter jumped up and down.

Tony looked at him with a 'so show me.' look on his face. "Karen. Turn in the spider bot." Peter said and the little bug turned on. And Peter could only stare in amazement.

It worked.

It worked!

It worked!

"It's on!" He laughed and threw his fist in the air.

"Impressive kid." Tony said and patted Peters back.

Peter smiled at him and Tony couldn't help but smile back. Gods. That kid is gonna be his ruin. The way he looked up at Tony with such affection and excitement. Every time made his heart melt a little more.

Peter, ever since the vulture incident, has become a much more significant part of his life. Peter was so smart. And brave. And incredibly funny. So sarcastic that it made Tony hurt. Tony. The king of sarcasm.

Anyway. Peter would now, when not patrolling or schooling, spend time in Tony's lab with him. Whether he was tinkering or directly helping Tony he was always a joy to have around.

Ever since Peter had entered Tony's life, Tony's life took a turn for the better. Tony had suddenly stopped drinking. Well not entirely, but mostly. He now drank just as much as normal people. Maybe two or three a week.

Tony also was much more responsible. Which scared the hell out of the rouge Avengers when they came back, about a week ago. He now thought things out and was much more logical.

Tony had planned on having Peter over that day and that night introduced him professionally to the Avengers. But that plan was squashed when half of the team couldn't show up.

Only the original Avengers could come. And as much as he liked them, he wanted to introduce Peter to them all.

Peter was so nervous. He was going to meet the Avengers. The official Avengers.

Well, like half of them. But still! That's amazing. Peter had already met Black Widow... but only briefly. Before they went into battle, but still they had met. And that made him feel slightly better.

Yes, he was about meeting Clint, and Steve, and Thor. But he was most excited about meeting Bruce Banner.

Bruce Banner. The man that got him into science. Peter had been a fan of Banner before he even became the hulk.

"Sir? Mr. Bratson, Ms. Romanof, Dr. Banner, and Captain Rogers have all arrived. Shall I let them into the penthouse?" FRIDAY asked.

Peter felt his stomach drop. He could hear Mr. Stark's faint, "Yes let them in. And tell them to get comfy."

"Kid you ready?" Tony asked Peter, who looked on the verge of hyperventilating.

"What if they don't like me?" He blurted out.

"I'm sure they'll adore you kid. Especially Bruce." Tony said pulling Peter out of the lab.

----

When the Avengers all entered the penthouse they were all confused to see Tony no where in sight.

"Dr. Banner." Steve said and held his hand out to shake.

"Captain Rogers. Been a while." Bruce shook Steve's hand and they both gave a small laugh. Then Bruce pulled Steve into one of those manly half hug things.

"Anyone know when Tony's gonna arrive?" Clint asked as he and Nat took a seat down on the couch.

"Right now! Hello peasants." Tony said entering the room.

They all gave Tony look and opened their mouths to object when a small young voice spoke behind him.

"You do know that your not actually a king? Right?" The voice said with a high level of sarcasm.

Tony then turned around. "I'm the king of this castle. So I'm a king. And if I'm king that make you my servant."

The voice laughed and stood next to Tony. It was a child. Well, more a teenager but an underaged boy.

"Holy Sh-" Clint started but stopped at everyone's glare. "Crap. I was going to say crap." He insisted. "Anyway. You have a child!"

"Yep." Tony said and quickly realized what he said. "I mean he's not mine. He's just an intern here."

"I though I was a servant." The boy said smugly.

"Practically the same thing." Tony smirked at the kid. "Anyway. Everyone this is Peter Parker. Peter, everyone." Introduced.

Peter waved and smiled shyly, losing all his confidence.

"I like him already." Clint says getting up and standing in front of Peter. "Clint Bartson."

Clint held out his hand and Peter shook it. "It's an honor." Peter said with a smile.

As Clint went back to his seat he mumbled something about a 'good grip'.

"It is wonderful to meet you young apprentice." Thor said loudly and shook the boys hand. Which he was shocked held he same amount of strength. Well, a large amount, maybe not the same amount.

"Apprentice. I like that much more." Peter said. Then he turned to Tony. "You should call me that. Much better than servant."

"In your dreams. Dr. Banner!" Tony summoned the other scientist over.

Peter was currently introducing himself to Nat, who looked like she really enjoyed the kid.

"Been to long." Tony said and hugged Bruce. Bruce hugged back and smiled.

"That it has. But I'm back and glad to be back." Bruce said and smiled once more. A much more relaxed smile that Tony's ever seen.

Tony lead Bruce over to where Peter was about to start a conversation with Steve but Tony pulled him away. When Peter noticed Bruce his eyes got wide.

"You know Bruce. Peter here, is a huge fan of your work. Says he grew up on it, or something like that." Tony said and walked off leaving the two alone.

Peter sent Tony one last glare before turning back to Banner.

"Grew up on it?" Bruce asked.

Peter scratched the back of his neck and laughed nervously. "My father was a scientist. So he would have these papers all over his office. I would sneak in and read some of them. And yours, on gamma radiation, were by far my favorites. I mean I myself was sure I was going to go into studying it. But then you turned into the hulk and my parents told me I wasn't allowed."

"Before the hulk?" Bruce asked getting hopeful.

"Yes. I've read probably all your papers and read all your seminars and things like that. I even went to one, I was around seven at the time. I was the youngest one their, but I understood it all." Peter said with a fond smile at the memory.

"You were the kid that corrected my equation?" Bruce asked shocked.

"Yes! That was me." Peter said and felt his heart almost jump out of his chest.

"Well, Peter it is an honor to see you again. I hope to work with you in the future." He said and walked off to talk to someone else.

Peter was left standing their staring at the place he had been with a huge smile on his face.

"You alright their son?" Peter jumped and turned to see Steve looking at him with a amused look.

"Well. I'm one, meeting the Avengers, two, I just met one of my favorite scientists. I'll let you know when I can breathe properly again." Peter said and laughed.

Steve laughed and smiled back. "So parker where you from?" Steve  asked making conversation.

"Me? I live in Queens." Peter said with a smile. Steve's eyes widened.

"Your the spider kid?" He asked shocked.

Peter nodded slowly. "Yeah. About that. Sorry about you know fighting you guys." Peter said with a smile.

Steve laughed. "Well, anyone who fights that good, is a good guy in my book. No harm done." He then held out his hand. Peter shook it and smiled.

-----

After around thirty minutes of talking Peter walked up to Thor's hammer.

"Thor." The god turned around and smiled at the boy.

"Yes young apprentice?" Thor then walked up to Peter and his hammer.

"Please just call me Peter. What is this made of?" Peter asked gesturing to the weapon.

"It is made of an Asgardian metal Uru. And the handle is the wood of a corcuroo tree." He said and picked it up. "Though I haven't seen them here in your world." Thor said as an after thought.

"I don't believe we have those. Although I could be completely wrong. " Peter quickly added.

"It is beautiful." Peter said looking at the hammer.

"And very strong." Thor added proudly.

"How much dies it weigh?" Peter asked. "It looks heavy."

"Well. I honestly don't know. I haven't measured its weight." Thor said and frowned at his hammer.

The rest of the group noticed how Peter was looking at the hammer.

"Thor. Do me a favor and place the hammer on the table." Tony said.

"What do you say?" Peter joked and walked with Thor over to the center lounges.

"Please?" Tony said jokingly and Peter patted him on the head like a dog.

Once he did Thor looked back at Tony. "Why?"

"Well. I want to see if Peter could pick it up." Tony said and Thor immediately smiled.

"Be my guest." Thor said and sat down amused.

"Why? What happens?" Peter asked worried.

"Just pick it up." Tony said pushing him in front of the hammer.

"Will I die?" Peter asked slightly scared. He looked at them all.

"I promise you won't die." Tony said with a smile.

"But I don't trust you." Peter ignored the offended gasp of Tony, and looked at Bruce.

"Completely safe." The scientist said with a nod.

"Alright then." Peter said and wiped the sweat off his hands.

"Are you serious?!" Tony asked slightly upset.

"So, I just pick it up?" He asked still confused.

They all nodded and watched.

As Peter reached down to pick it up the room got deathly silent.

"Wait!" Nat said making them all jump. She then pulled out her phone and began recording. "Continue."

Peter glared at the phone and reached for the handle.

He prepared himself for the weight and pulled with full force.

Making him fly backwards onto the couch. Landing half on Steve's lap.

"Ow." He mumbled and quickly got up. "Sorry." He mumbled to the super soldier.

He stared at the hammer. It was truly beautiful. The carvings were done expertly and it was truly amazing how light is was for the amount of damage he had seen it do.

He smiled at it and looked back up at the group.

To see them all staring at him in shock. Thor had stood he so shocked.

"What?" He asked and quickly place it back on the table and rubbed his hands in his pants. Trying to make it seem he hadn't touched it in the first place.

"You... you picked it up!" Bruce said breaking the silence.

Peter nodded, his head tilted. "It wasn't that heavy."

Thor still was staring at his hammer, looking slightly betrayed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mea-" Peter started when Thors head snapped up.

"Sorry? Sorry! This is no times for punishment! My brother this is a cause for celebration!" He said laughing.

At this Peter only became more confused.

"Peter. Long ago my father gave me this hammer. When I abused its power I proved to be unworthy of it. So my father sent me here to earth, with no powers and the inability to lift it. My father decided that once I proved myself worthy I would be granted to gift to lift Mjolnir. I proved myself worthy. And I have only met one other man who has proven himself. And now my hammer has decide that you are worthy as well." Thor said and clasped his hand in Peter's shoulder.

"Me? Worthy?" He asked before he could stop his mouth.

"From what I've seen. You are worthy. You are incredibly kind, and funny, and you must be smart of Stark has taken you in to teach to." Thor said.

"It must have been a mistake. I mean I'm not really anything special. I'm just... Peter Parker." He finished lamely.

"No. Your the Spider-Man." Steve said.

"Your Spider-Man?!" Clint asked and Peter nodded. "This kid keeps getting cooler and cooler."

Peter laughed. "Thanks."

"We should go to Asgard immediately!" Thor said. "My father would like to meet you.

"I can't just go to Asgard!" Peter said.

Third face fell. "And why not?"

"I swear if he says it." Tony mumbled under his breath.

"I have homework." Tony groaned. "I mean how long would we be gone? I just can't pick up and leave."

"He's on spring break next week. I'll call aunt may and tell her your with me all week and you can go to Asgard." Tony said and Peter lit up.

"Really!?" Peter said and jumped up and down.

"Yes. Now say goodbye it's time to take you home. It's 1 am. You have that essay you need to finish for Monday." Tony said and threw Peter his jacket.

"You're right. You're right." Peter said and put his jacket on. He walked into the elevator.

"Bye everyone! It was nice to meet you!" He said just before the doors closed.

"Good kid." Natasha commented. The other nodded in agreement.

"Sure is." Tony said and smiled at the closed elevator. "So. How was-what did you call it- Ragnarok?"
