Chapter XV
Brianna's POV
As she lunged at me, all I saw were claws flashing, and then...nothing but darkness. I briefly tasted something like chocolate-the type that I loved from the candy store called Sweet on America, located in the Grand Central Station. I was friends with one of the workers there, named Sally Jackson. She knew me by name, and always saved the fresh made chocolate for me. Of course, I paid for it, but that's besides the point. Sometimes, I'd share it with her. Anyhow, I'm getting off track. The taste was only there for a moment before fading. That's when I realized that there was a faint golden glow from up ahead. I tilted my head to one side and said, "Who is it?" The glow grew until I could see a faint form of a woman in front of me. Or rather, her silhouette. It grew until I could make out details, such as the fact that she looked thin, but not unhealthy. The other striking detail about her was her eye color. It was gray. She was wearing an old fashioned Greek chiton. The lady exuded an aura that commanded respect. When she spoke, her voice was calm, almost musical, yet held authority. I instinctively backed away. She didn't answer my question, only said, "You need not be afraid. I will send you back soon, and I understand that you have many questions."
"Where am I, and where am I going?" I asked nervously. Again, she didn't quite answer my question.
"You are special, but in a different way. I know that things seem confusing now, but it will all be clear. All you need to know is that your friends, Luke Castellan and Lakyn Costas, are taking you to a camp for people for you. Special people," the lady responded.
"You mean, people who have serious problems like dyslexia and ADHD?" I questioned incredulously. She shook her head no.
"People who are different, but in a good way," she said. Believe me, I had more questions, but I knew that I wouldn't get them answered. That, and the fact that the scene began to change. I could feel myself waking. The light faded, and the last thing I heard her say was 'Trust me.'
A/N: Three guesses as to whom the lady was...I'm pretty sure that it's easy to guess, though. Put it in the comments, if you have a guess!
