Brianna's POV

As Luke and I walked, try in to find a place for three people to sit, I told him about the talent show. When I spotted a tree that would afford us some shade, I said, "Um, is this a good spot?" He said yes, so we sat. When Lakyn came over, she asked what we should talk about. I mentioned the fact that I'd told Luke that we were participating in the talent show. She hinted at the fact that I had a crush on Luke. My face burned, and I was sure that he knew that I liked him. Lakyn's comment kind of stopped all conversation.

Later on in the dorm, after classes were over, I glared at Lakyn. "Why did you say that?"
She shrugged. "I didn't think he understood."
"Well, if he did, I'm never going to live that down!" I snapped.
"Sorry," Lakyn said meekly. I rolled my eyes, and asked her not to do it again. She promised me she wouldn't, and I let the matter go.
