A gorgeous girl was dressed in a stunning white ballgown, which showcased her slim waist flawlessly due to the way the dress fit her above her torso before elegantly flaring from her waist to the floor.
Her wavy-long honey-blonde hair rested on her back like a waterfall which added to her beauty.
She cast a loving gaze at her beloved soon-to-be husband as her lips spread into a wide smile. The male watched her smile in awe and he couldn't believe that the cute smile spread on her beautiful heart-shaped lips belonged to him. He was the reason behind that smile and it made his stomach flip giddily.
He extended his hands, causing her to hold them tightly with a shy smile. When she glanced at their hands clutched together, it made her heart beat merrily. Finally, it is happening, she thought.
The man in front of her grinned adorably this time, with his front two teeth peeking out, giving him a bunny-like appearance. Their staring contest ceased when a voice brought them back to reality.
"John Williams, do you take Anastasia Anderson, as your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?" The priest glanced at the said male and asked.
"I do!" As he answered, John gave Ana a smile and caressed the back of her hands, making the bride beam. The butterflies in her stomach danced, making her feel dizzy.
"Anastasia Anderson, do you take John Williams, as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"
"I do!" Ana replied, blushing and looking down, unable to believe her dreams that were turning into reality.
"I now pronounce you as husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!"
The priest recited the vows, instilling in Ana the fear and euphoria that every bride experiences when these words are spoken.
Ana flushed as the priest allowed John to kiss her. She shifted her gaze to her father and brother, who stood behind him. Despite feeling emotional, they kept a smile on their faces.
"Ana? Baby?" Her father called out to which she responded, "Yes father?"
"Ana? Are you listening?" He inquired once more.
"Let me kiss my husband, Paa," Ana whined.
The next minute, cold water splashed her face, and she woke up gasping for air.
"Paa, what is wrong with you?" The girl became more agitated with a tint of sadness in her beautiful blue orbs.
She glanced down and her sleeveless pink nightdress t-shirt was drenched in water. She whined more when water droplets continued to drop on her face from her damp hair. "You've lost your mind, Paa." She commented, annoyance lacing in her voice as she glanced at her father with hooded eyes.
"My baby is still having the same dream, isn't she?" Henry teased her, wiggling his brows as he stood near her bed with his arms crossed near his chest.
Ana felt her cheeks heat up at the remembrance of her dream. However, she whined, throwing a tantrum like she always did. She shook her head vigorously, making her untied hair stick to her wet face and arms. "Why would you wake me up like this?"
Henry chuckled as dimples appeared on his cheeks. He might be in his fifties, but his body was well-maintained. His hair was cut closer to his scalp which perfectly accentuated his sharp jawline and handsome features. His forehead wrinkles were concealed by his blonde hair with black highlights.
He appeared younger than his actual age because of the perfect glow of his skin. In terms of appearance and physique, he was undoubtedly a worthy opponent for his son.
He shook his head at his darling daughter, knowing pretty well that she wasn't upset to be woken up with cold water but because of the fact that she couldn't kiss her crush at least in her dream if not in reality.
"It's already seven o'clock, sweetie. Are you sure you don't need to get ready?" He inquired while staring at the wall clock in Ana's room, his playfulness long gone.
"Oh never mind, Paa," she whispered as she leaned back on her bed. "Let me sleep a little longer." She closed her eyes, hoping for her dream to continue like we all do when we wake up from an interesting dream mid-way.
"As you wish. Don't blame me when you face the consequences." He cautioned her with a smirk as he leaned the left side of his body to the wall, keenly observing Ana. He knew she would jolt up within a minute.
Ana felt her jaw drop as realization hit her. She got up again, staring at the cream wall to the front in a daze. Before her Hitler boss considered firing her, she needed to get to work. "I love you Paa, you are the sweetest. Thanks for waking me up! That monster would have eaten me alive if I was a second late."
Ana groaned while rising from her bed as she continued with her complaints about her boss who she hated. She rose to her feet in order to make her way toward the closet while thinking about her outfit for the day as she talked to herself.
Unexpectedly, her leg got stuck under the crimson carpet that lay beside her bed. In the blink of an eye, she fell onto the floor.
As her father was about to leave, he heard a thud and saw Ana lying on the ground on her stomach - who was still trying to process what just happened while rubbing her elbow with a pout.
"When will my clumsy daughter learn how to be careful? I wonder how Austin didn't fire you yet. Isn't he tired of putting up with your carelessness for two years?"
Ana huffed listening to her father. He should be on her side but he would always take her enemy's side whenever he was brought up and it irked Ana to no end. She was brought to her feet when Henry pulled her up, ruffling her hair in the process. However, his nose scrunched when he got his hands wet because of her damp hair.
"I know you only love that Hitler and not me. I will complain to my brother about how you always tease me when we are alone." She started with her fake crying as she knew how her brother would always side with her, no matter what. Being the baby of the family, she was always treated with much love and affection.
Her father might tease her most of the time, but he still loved her and was protective of her. Maybe a little less protective as compared to how his son, Eros was, he still cared for her just like a father should.
Henry flinched when Ana mentioned her brother. He panicked as the wrinkles on his forehead appeared with sadness yet terror visible in his eyes.
"No, no! Your father is sorry, baby. Your brother will kill me if he gets to know that I'm teasing his marshmallow. And please don't ever mention Austin's name in front of him. Ever!" His voice held urgency as if his world, their world would come crashing if Ana didn't listen to him.
Ana sighed as she listened to her father. Her father's reaction seemed normal to her by now because this was their ritual all these years. Henry teases Ana with Austin's name and when Ana mentions how she would complain to her brother, her father would always react like this.
However, she was curious about what the deal was. Why would her father always ask her to not mention her boss in front of her brother when he knew who she worked with? What exactly was the deal with them?
"Paa, you've always told me how he'd get upset if I mentioned my boss. But what is the reason behind this? Can you tell me at least once?" Ana spoke sweetly with a pout clearly visible on her face as she raised her worries or more like her questions. She continued to gaze at her father with hopeful eyes, which worked all the times except this once.
Her father hid his watery eyes from his daughter. "Baby, we've got the whole day ahead of us." He turned towards the door before continuing, "Please get ready now before your boss fires you."
"Oh damn! I need to get ready. See you at the breakfast table in a few." She ran to her bathroom forgetting all the questions since her current worries were to be looked after. If she didn't reach on time, her perfectionist boss wouldn't think twice before firing her. And as much as she hated him, she was desperate for this job.
Her father closed the door behind him. "I'm sorry kiddo. Let me take some secrets to my grave." He mumbled in a low voice before getting a hold of his emotions as he walked away with a heavy heart.
