paper crown
(king! Papyrus x fem reader-chan)
The royal King Papyrus was known for many things, but never for abandoning someone in need.
Queen (y/n), a human who had lost everything. Her king had deserted her. Her physical walls were broke down so she made emotional walls.
Both rulers were fair and kind to their people. The only difference was that outside the castle, the queen was nobody.
She could walk outside dressed in her royal regalia and no one cared.
Then she fell underground.
A paper crown and a heart made of glass
A tattered gown and her kingdom of ash
She landed in the buttercup patch below, her gown was riddled with holes from the fire she barely escaped.
She walks alone, can never look back
In the desolate ruins, the queen wandered. Never thinking of how she'll get back.
Upon meeting the Dreemur family, the crown was hidden.
With a new set of clothing and a satchel containing the only thing left of her old life, she ventured into the frosted forest of Snowdin.
The story of a queen whose castle has fallen to the sea
She'll make it out, but she's never the same
She's lookin' down, at the scars that remain
But you hold your ground, though your kingdoms in flames
Cause it's the story of a queen who's castle has fallen to the sea
Knowing there's no one who will be a king that will come and save his queen
Eventually, the royal guards and the king's faithful servant and brother, found her and brought her to Papyrus.
Not a single tear was shed as her body was jerked and thrown onto the throne room floor, nor was a word uttered when the human race was insulted.
"Undyne, there is no call for such violence to our guest" Papyrus reprimanded.
"With all do respect, you're majesty, she is a human after all" The fish woman retorted.
(Y/n) carefully stood up only to stumble into the skeleton king's arms as he helped her keep balance.
"What pray tell is your name dear maiden?"
"My name, you're majesty, is (y/n)"
With a smile on his face the king announced that you would be staying in one of the guest rooms for the time being.
"Sans, Frisk, could you two take Lady (y/n) to her room?"
"Yes my liege" said a shorter skeleton and a young girl.
Once inside, the maid and servant helped her get settled.
"You're quite lucky, malady" Frisk commented whilst helping you into an evening gown.
"How so?"
"Papyrus doesn't allow many guests to stay inside the castle"
"Is that so? Sans I do have a matter I'd like to discuss in private with you please and thank you for your assistance Frisk"
"Of course, if you need anything don't hesitate to ask"
Frisk left Sans and the queen alone.
"So, what is it that you wanted to talk with me about ma'am?"
"Why was I spared? My people trapped you here so long ago, yet your king is so merciful as to let me stay here. People like me don't deserve mercy"
"I'm not sure why my brother did what he did, but don't let it go to waste because like he always said 'even the worst people can change and anyone can be good if they'd just try' "
Sans left the queen to think about the second chance she was given.
When all she needs, and all she wants, and all she finds
When all she is, and ever was, is compromised
Cause there's no one to love her
You built your walls too high
And there's no one to love you when you build your walls too high
Weeks had passed and the king was sure that he found the one to rule beside him, but he was still un aware of the secret she kept for so long.
Frisk was aware of who she was since the day she found the crown while cleaning the room, but promised not to say a word.
She's looking out, from the war that's inside.
She's screaming out, cause no one survived, but when you're all alone, you wait and you hide
Cause it's the story of a queen whose castle has fallen to the sea
Knowing, there's no one who will be a king that will come and save his queen
(y/n) had finally broke. The lies and secrets were eating her alive.
She waited until tea time to tell Papyrus.
"Papyrus, there's something I need to tell you. I haven't been very open about my life and you of all people deserve to know why"
(y/n) pulled out her old crown and placed it upon her head.
"(y/n) I don't understand" Papyrus was taken back by the sudden unveiling.
"Let me reintroduce myself. My name is (y/n) (l/n), I am the former queen of the Anwynn (Ahh n win) kingdom. My husband, King Roland, left me for another, more prosperous kingdom. Within weeks, my kingdom was attacked and my castle was destroyed and I became dead to my subjects."
"You felt like there was nowhere else to turn so you came here to escape the hell you were forced into"
"*Hic* yes, and I thought for sure I would be killed for the deeds my ancestors did so long ago, but instead I was spared and treated with so much more kindness than I thought existed"
Papyrus wiped the tears from her face so gently as his gloved hand remained there.
"I spared you because I saw the same thing in you as I did in Frisk. I saw a spark of determination and hope, it might've been small, but it was still there"
They continued tea time as usual. Papyrus was certain now more than ever of his feelings for the former queen.
When all she needs, and all she wants, and all she finds
When all she is, and ever was, is compromised
Cause there's no one to love her
You built your walls too high
And there's no one to love you when you build your walls too high
There is no one, who is strong enough, to save your love
There's no fairytale, There's no fairytale
(y/n) didn't think it was possible to fall in love all over again, yet here she is gazing at Papyrus from the balcony of her room.
Papyrus wanted nothing more than to have her by his side. He'd even admit the other royal bachelorettes were distasteful and boring, not to mention unattractive. There was nothing and no one to keep him from making (y/n) his one and only.
When all she needs, and all she wants, and all she finds
When all she is, and ever was, is compromised
Cause there's no one to love her
You built your walls too high
And there's no one to love you when you trap yourself inside
It happened like a cliché film. He proposed. She said yes. The wedding commenced. She was crowned queen at the coronation.
It was perfect like a fairytale.
Never say never because any wall can break if one has the courage to find the weak point.
