Thanks to zarla and her absolutely phenomenal artwork, this became my OTP!

I headcanon that Toriel is a Kingdings fangirl even though she and Asgore are married. Considering I ship Gaster with both of them, a poly relationship might be cute. I also headcanon Gaster as socially awkward just like Alphys, which is why he got a job where he didn't have to interact with many people. He's like that one person in school who doesn't talk to many people and sits alone to read a book at lunch time instead of socializing. Aka me for the last couple years.

I can totally see Gaster having a crush on his king, while his friends and two sons try to subtly let him know without being blunt, moving too fast or damaging Toriel and Asgore's relationship. Imagine Sans and Papyrus trying to be his wingmen!

Gaster: You two don't have to do this...
Papyrus: Shut up Dad, we're doing it anyway.
Sans: What Pap said. Hey King Asgore!
Asgore: Hm? Oh, hello! (waves)
Gaster: Why me...
Toriel: (recording this) hehehe

In an alternate timeline where Toriel and Asgore aren't back together yet because Toriel is a stubborn tsundere goat mom, Gaster and Toriel having little arguments over him would be adorable. Example:

Gaster: (glares at Toriel, since she and Asgore are going on a date later)
Toriel: You mad, skele?~
Gaster: (scoffs) I give it a month.
Toriel: Oh you didn't!
Asgore: (in the distance) To be honest, I didn't expect this at all •-•;
Frisk: This is fun!
Papyrus: Sans, pass the video camera. This is so going on Undernet!
Alphys: I l-like the way you think!
