Blue IS Your Color. (Classic!Sans x Shy!Reader.)

You sighed as you closed the door behind you. You had just finished your shift at Grillby's New Bar and Grill on the surface. It hadn't been an extremely long shift, but since the St. Patrick's Day parade route passed right by the building, people had poured in, getting to-go orders, sitting down for a drink or two, or just hanging around in the cool building. It may only be March, but it was so damn hot.

Thankfully, the onslaught of people hadn't caused your anxiety to skyrocket. But that may have been due to Sans and Papyrus, Grillby's volunteers for the day, always seeming to be around to make sure the humans didn't overwhelm you. They'd been hanging out with you a whole lot more, and after your (not so perfect) ex-boyfriend had kicked you out because you weren't 'fun, outgoing, and pretty enough' to satisfy him, the skelebros had let you stay with them for a while.

In fact, you still were.

You smiled as you glanced around the apartment, noticing that the pet rock on the table was almost drowning in sprinkles. You walked over and gingerly plucked the rock off it's paper plate, before pouring most of the sprinkles into the trash can. Placing the rock back into it's habitat, you sprinkled the the remaining sprinkles back over the rock.

Sighing, you stumbled back to your room, exhaustion slowly creeping up on you. Changing out of your work clothes, you flipped through your phone's playlist before settling on a song.

I can see you over there, staring at your drink, watchin' that ice sink all alone tonight.

You danced around the room, bobbing your head to the beat as you sang along, quietly.

And chances are, you're sittin' here in this 'cause he ain't gonna treat you right. Well, it's probably not my place, but I'm gonna say it anyway 'cause you look like you haven't felt the fire, had a little fun, hadn't had a smile in a little while. Baby...

You whipped around, searching for something blue. Spotting something poking out from behind the door, you raced forward and snatched it. It was one of San's spare hoodies.

'Cause blue looks good on the sky, looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall, but darlin' it don't match your eyes. I'm tellin' you, you don't need that guy. It's so black and white, he's stealin' your thunder. Baby, blue ain't your color.

You swung the hoodie up and around, draping it over your shoulders, and happily sang the next verse.

Not tryna' be another just pick you up kinda guy, tryna' drink you up, tryna' take you home, but I just don't understand how another man can take your sun and turn it ice cold.

Well, I've had enough to drink, and it's making' me think that I just might, tell you if I were a painter, I wouldn't change ya', I'd just paint you bright.

You pulled the hood up and twirled around.

'Cause blue looks good on the sky, looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall, but darlin' it don't match your eyes. I'm tellin' you, you don't need that guy. It's so black and white, he's stealin' your thunder. Baby, blue ain't your color.

It ain't you color, baby.

No no no.

Mmm mmm.

Blue looks good on the sky, looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall, but darlin' it don't match your eyes. I'm tellin' you, you don't need that guy. It's so black and white, he's stealin' your thunder. Baby, blue ain't your color.

The song ended, much to your disappointment. You took the jacket off your shoulders. That was when you realized it was warm.

Like, really warm.

Your eyes widened, and you whipped around to see Sans leaning against the doorframe, grinning and missing his normal jacket.

"Oh. Um how... how long have you been standing there?" You squeaked, nervous.

"eh, i got home just after it started, so i've seen pretty much the whole thing." He replied, calmly but still grinning.

"Oh. Um. H-here." You stammered, handing him his hoodie back with a shaky hand.

Sans stepped forward, and pushed the garment back towards you. "i think it looked better on you, anyways." He murmured, reaching up and tucking a strand of (H/C) hair behind your ear.

You felt your cheeks heating up, as you bit your lip in an effort to keep from stuttering, or squealing. Before your ex had dumped you, you'd begun to develop a tiny crush on the skeleton.

"ya' know." Sans remarked, softly, "i think that song had it all wrong."

"What do you mean?"

"blue is your color." He whispered, before taking his jacket back, wrapping it around you shoulders, and tugging the hood over your eyes.

"Sans, what was-"

Your question was interrupted by Sans gently pressing his teeth to your lips.

You froze, your brain panicking.

After what could have been hours, but was probably only seconds, Sans backed away, eye sockets wide and cheekbones a pale blue. "i-i shouldn't have done that." He muttered, in what seemed like embarrassment. He turned and was going to walk out of the room, but you grabbed his arm.

"I...I didn't mind, Sans." You breathed, still trying to figure out what happened.

The skeleton turned, his normal grin returning. "then would...would you mind if i did it again?"

You smiled, and shook your head 'no.'

As he kissed you again, you had to agree with him.

Blue was your color.

Especially if it came with a short, punny skeleton.

~A few hours later~
{Third Person P.o.V}
Papyrus quietly opened the door to the apartment he shared with his brother and (Y/N). Undye had kept him at her house longer then normal, and he just hoped his brother wouldn't be to upset.

When he reached the living room, he stopped dead, and his jaw dropped at the sight before him.

Sans was on the couch, relaxed and quietly snoring. His arm was stretched out and holding something close to him.

It took Papyrus a second to figure out what it was, but when he did finally realize he almost squealed like Alyphs during a new episode of an anime.

Curled up beside him, head on his shoulder, sound asleep, and wearing his jacket, was (Y/N).

Papyrus turned, tiptoed right back out of the room, and into his own.

But not before taking a couple of picture to show Undyne, Alyphs, and Frisk later.
