Lunch Time

(Just a little fun chapter with nothing going on but lunch. Enjoy. Start the music)

FRISK
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

The bell rang, signalling for lunch. Everyone filed out of the classrooms and headed straight towards the cafeteria. Frisk blended in the crowd and headed straight towards the cafeteria as well.

After a long day of activities and nothing but name-calling, she decided a full stomach will make her feel better. And hopefully, she can talk to Chara about what happened earlier at the assembly and make her forgive her for something she'd no idea about. Till now, she doesn't get it why Chara doesn't want her to be friends with Sans. So hopefully, she'd get that answer this lunch.

She entered the cafeteria and widened her jaw in awe.

The room is huge. With a domed glass ceiling above, showing the clear afternoon skies. And the scent of a variety of meals that she is unfamiliar to (that is suprisingly delicious). She looked around and spotted a long line by the food stalls. Their are many food stalls at the left side of the room, extending towards the right upper corner of the room. She walked towards the line and waited.

As soon as it was her turn, her eyes landed on the several food trays on the counter. Their aroma filled the air and made Frisk's mouth water.

She took a tray from the stacks and a spoon and fork for herself. She grabbed a plate from the counter and scanned the food trays. She found a tray of mash potatoes and scooped some for herself. It oozed on her plate and filled almost half of it.

She walked towards the next stall, and figured it was the viand stall. She took some chicken legs on one of the trays (how do they even have chicken in the undergound? What are they cannibals?) and some chicken nuggets too. She walked towards the next stall and figured it was the drinks stall.

Their are many bowls filled with a variety of drinks placed on the counter. She glanced at what looked like gray-ish goo, as a bubble popped right in front of her face. She scrunched her nose in disgust. "Goowater! Fresh from the mines!" The drink lady said. Frisk shook her head. She glanced at the next bowl, which contained a bright skyblue water. "That's fresh from Waterfall!" The lady said. Frisk shook her head. The water seemed pleasant, but she is still unsure about it's effects. She glanced towards the next bowl which is filled with purple water. "Spider Cider!" The lady said. Frisk looked at it for a few seconds and turned to look at the lady. "Is it delicious?" She asked. "Of course it is, poppet! It tastes like real cider!" She said. Frisk nodded and took a glass of the cider. She went to each stall, examining which ones looked edible. In the end, she gotten herself a tray filled with mash potatoes, chicken legs, nuggets, spider cider, and sweet buns. She scanned the room, looking for a place to sit, and in the middle of the room, she spotted Asriel, Kid and Chara sitting in a table, which had an extra vacant seat.

Frisk gulped, she's still pretty nervous about what to say, but then again, if she doesn't say sorry, this fight between them won't end. So she has no choice but to apologize, even if she knew she did nothing wrong. She hated seeing her friend glaring and avoiding her presence for the whole day.

Frisk mustered some guts and headed straight towards the table. She placed her tray on the table and sat right beside Chara.

Chara seemed to act as if she wasn't there. She played with her mash potato, hitting it lightly with her fork like she's playing miniature golf on her plate. Frisk knew that this is Chara's way of avoiding people.

Frisk turned to look at Asriel, who is now blushing a bright red and giving her a slight wave. Frisk smiled back, but sighed. The 4 fell silent for a while, until Frisk can't take it anymore.

"Chara, I'm so sorry about earlier. Can you forgive me?" Frisk said all at once. Chara turned to look at Frisk as she let out a tiny giggle. "I knew it you'd say that." Chara said. Her smile washed out of her face as she looked down at her mash potato. "But... It's actually I who have to apologize." Chara mumbled, loud enough for Frisk to hear. Frisk patted Chara in the back for comfort. "I just... I... I don't want to lose another friend. I mean... Everyone... They think I'm... Wierd. So I thought maybe... If you're friends with Sans.. You might... Leave me." Chara stuttered. Frisk found it pretty dumb for Chara to think that she'll leave her. But she respects her thoughts anyway.

Frisk sent Chara and encouraging smile. "Come on, Chara! You're my bestfriend! You think I'd ditch you for another one? Chara, Sans and I are just friends. Whoever I'll be friends with, it won't change our friendship." Frisk said. Chara raised an eyebrow at Frisk. "But... That's Sans. Sans the skeleton. You don't know him as much as I do." Chara warned. Frisk rolled her eyes (I know she doesn't really have clear eyes but her looks seemed to say so). "And besides. You might bond with him more and you'll probably inherit the hate he had on me." Chara added. "Didn't I tell you no matter what happens, we'll still be bestfriends?" Frisk asked. Chara slowly nodded. "W-ell, alright! I suppose it won't hurt." She said, crossing her arms. Frisk beamed and tackled her in a hug. "Hug!" She said.

Chara smiled and hugged back. She broke away from the hug and lifted her pinky. "Friends?" She asked. Frisk smiled and wrapped her pinky around hers. "Bestfriends." She said.

The two decided to talk about how the school day seemed to go. Chara said she's been enjoying her classes and Frisk replied about how the teachers only do name-calling and other uninteresting activities. Frisk also told her about what happened at Gym and about Sans. Surprisingly, Chara was listening in everything she said, even if it's about Sans. Looks like the problem really did stop. Frisk thought.

Asriel is pretty quiet for the whole conversation. Everytime Frisk would glance at him he'll look away and turn redder. Frisk thought that Asriel is probably still embarrassed about what happened at the school bus. Frisk understood how embarrassing it must've felt in Asriel's perspective so she just let Asriel stay quiet for the rest of the talk.

Who could've thought that lunch had been the most fun thing Frisk had for the whole day.

SANS
•~•~•~•~•~•

Sans looked aroud the cafeteria, holding a tray with only ketchup on it. He spotted Asgore's table, where Asgore, a group of dogs and Undyne sat. Undyne noticed Sans and gestured him to come sit with them. Sans eyed his father at the staff table, who is now giving him a thumbs up. Sans turned to look back at Undyne as he walked towards her. Before he could sit down, Asgore raised a paw in the air, signalling him to STOP (Lol get it?)

"What are you doing?" He asked. "Just standing here, bro." Sans chuckled. Asgore narrowed his gaze. "Sorry, Sans. You can't sit with us." Asgore said. Sans didn't dare question the principal's son and just shrugged. "Fine." He said, trudging towards Papyrus across the room. He sat down at the opposite seat and turned to look at Papyrus. " 'sup bro." He waved. "SANS! WHY AREN'T YOU SITTING WITH ASGORE?" He asked. Sans grasped his ketchup. "He doesn't want me sitting there." Sans said, pausing to drink it. He wiped the excess ketchup on his teeth and winked. "But hey. I don't want to GET HIS GOAT." Sans quipped. Papyrus gritted his teeth and headed straight towards Alphys and Mettaton's table. Sans chuckled and continued to sip his ketchup. He is now all alone, sitting on what used to be Pap's table. But don't worry. He's fond of it.

•~•~•~•~•~•~•
ALPHYS
•~•~•~•~•~•~•

"H-Hey Papyrus." Alphys waved. Mettaton was busy scanning himself in the mirror, his celestial soup untouched. Papyrus sighed and sat at the opposite seat. "Hi Alphys." He said. Alphys eyed Sans and turned to look at Papyrus again. "Y-You're brother's alone." She said. Papyrus sighed again. "His puns are just annoying..." Papyrus growled, gritting his teeth. Mettaton joined in the conversation as he wrapped his arm around Papyrus' neck. "Oh darling~! That's just who your brother is~! Get used to it~!" Mettaton said. Papyrus babbled on and on with Mettaton, who is listening carefully at every word he blurts. Alphys casually looked at Asgore's table, her gaze resting on Undyne.

While Mettaton and Papyrus were chatting, Alphys decided to stare at Undyne for a few seconds. Undyne... What a wonderful name... Her red ponytail swaying in the air... Her freaking cool eye patch... Her grin.... She's sooooo cool....!

Alphys rested her head on her hand, sighing as she stared dreamily at Undyne. After a few seconds, Undyne turned to look at her.

Alphys yelped and grabbed her spoon. She began using the spoon as a mini- mirror to cover her face. Of course her face isn't entirely covered, but still. She pretended to look at her reflection in the spoon. Undyne ignored her and went back to chatting with Asgore. Alphys sighed in relief and stared at her tray. Definitley not gonna notice you. The words echoed in her mind.

•~•~•~•~•~•~•
UNDYNE
•~•~•~•~•~•~•

"Why didn't you let him sit with us?" Undyne asked. "Because... He's different." Asgore replied. Undyne scoffed and crossed her arms. "He's my friend. He doesn't seem different to me." Undyne said. Asgore took a sip of his golden flower tea and resumed. "He is not like us, Undyne. He's lazy! Can't you see how he slacks off at his table?" Asgore asked. Undyne spotted Sans across the room, sipping his ketchup. "He seems freaking cool." Undyne said. "Yeah. To you. Everyone will wonder why I, the son of the principal and most charming boy in this school, would invite... A lazy... Skeleton... In his table." Asgore said. Undyne huffed. "Whatever." Undyne said, rolling her eyes. Asgore ignored her reply and continued sippig his tea. Undyne just wanted Sans to fit in. I mean, that dude's tough! But I guess not everyone finds him good enough.

•~•~•~•~•~•~•
TORIEL
•~•~•~•~•~•~•

Toriel giggled. "So yeah. That's how it all went." Muffet said. She poured Toriel's cup with more tea and Toriel obliged. "It must've been wierd hanging out with people like that." Crazy Bun said. "But at least I got money!" She said. Muffet's been discussing about an old customer that appeared at her mother's bakery (which she is taking care of). The old man kept ranting about this and that which the girls found funny. Muffet gained some gold after the rants anyway. "It must've been fun holding a store." Toriel replied, sipping her tea. "But I suppose I better be thankful with what I have now." She added.

"Are you kidding, Tori? You ARE already lucky!" Crazy bun giggled. "Having the principal's son as a BOYFRIEND? Omg, T. EVERY girl in this school envies you!"

"Yeah, Toriel." Muffet said. "After all, your life is more luckier than mine." Muffet said. Toriel blushed. "Aww... Girls... I appreciate the compliment but..." She stopped all so suddenly and stared down at her tea. "I don't see why girls have to envy something so simple..." Toriel said. Muffet and Crazy Bun sent her a questioning glance. "I mean... Asgore... He's just a normal person to me!" Toriel said. "I just don't get it. Just because he's the principal's son and most charming guy in the school, doesn't mean every girl can envy me." Toriel said.

Muffet and Crazy Bun giggled. "Just accept the fact, T." Crazy Bun said. Toriel shrugged it off. "Fine, fine. Now Muffet dear, what did you say about your store again?" She asked. Muffet's eyes sparkled and she rambled on about her store.
