Chapter 2 - Fallen Sick
It was the next day, and Frisk was just sitting up and yawning, after having a good nights sleep. She couldn't remember the last time that she had actually been able to sleep well, without freaking out in the middle of the night over some stupid nightmare she had.
She felt like talking to Sans about how she had been feeling, had maybe lifted a weight off her shoulders. Somehow, she didn't feel like Sans hated her so much as she thought. She did feel that maybe there was at least SOME hatred there, but she felt like she couldn't really blame him... After what she did...
Shaking her head, she sighed trying not to think about it. Just as she was about to climb out of bed, she almost felt like she was going to jump out of her skin, when she heard Papyrus' voice booming through the wall in San's room. Raising her eyebrows in wonder, she climbed out of bed, quickly got dressed and made her way through the hall across to Sans' room and knocked on the door.
"IS THAT YOU HUMAN?" She heard Papyrus' voice on the other side of the door. Taking a grasp of the handle she opened the door to find Papyrus standing beside Sans' bed.
"What's going on?" She wondered, stepping inside.
"WORRY NOT, HUMAN. SANS HAS JUST GOT A LITTLE SICK, THAT'S ALL."
"i told you, i'm fine..." Sans muttered under the covers, sounding tired. That's when he sneezed. Frisk chuckled a little, but then rose a brow.
"I didn't know skeletons could get sick. How does that even work...?" Then she thought about how stupid that question sounded. Sans and Papyrus were monsters – not in a mean way – but that's just what they were classed as. And of course, they were living things. Unlike humans, if you're a skeleton, well, you're dead. So, it kind of made sense. Making her way further into the room, she now stood beside Sans' bed.
"Papyrus, why don't you go make Sans some of your spaghetti?" Frisk wondered, looking across to Papyrus. He seemed a little surprised by this, but then a smile lit up his face.
"YES! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AS A LOVING BROTHER, SHOULD GO MAKE MY BROTHER SOME OF MY DELICIOUS SPAGHETTI!! I'LL BE BACK SOON AFTER I HAVE MADE IT! NYEH HEH HEH HEH!"
Frisk grinned, staring after him as he left the room. Turning her attention back to Sans, she placed her hand on his forehead. "Man, you're frozen to the bone."
"heh, very punny kid." Sans smirked. Sighing, he closed his eyes. "you don't have to try and look after me ya know. i'm not as sick as i seem. i'm just tired."
"Yeah right. You were worried about me getting sick yesterday. But instead it seems like you were the unlucky one." She smiled. "I'm gonna make sure that you get better as soon as possible. Don't want you being sick on Christmas after all, since it's not even that long away."
"i guess so..." Sans opened his eyes and sat up. Frisk rose her eyebrows a little, as she noticed that Sans had his blue gaster eye, rather than his normal white pupils. Sans noticed that she seemed a little startled by this, so he started to explain.
"don't worry kid. i'm fine. it's just... my power goes a little... weird whenever i get like this. it's a stupid annoying thing."
"Oh, I see. Well, no worries! Like I said, I'm not leaving you until you get better! I'll bring you whatever you need, you don't need to get out of bed."
"really? so i can be lazy for as long as i want?" He chuckled. Frisk grinned and shrugged.
"Sure." She giggled.
Not so long after, Papyrus returned with a plateful of spaghetti in his hands and proudly handed it to Sans.
"wow thanks bro. i'm really looking forward to eating this."
"I'M SURE YOU ARE! IT WAS PREPARED BY ME OF COURSE! NYEH HEH HEH HEH!" Papyrus replied. Sans smirked.
"yeah i can see that. i just hope..."
"SANS DON'T..."
"i just hope it doesn't go right through me." He chuckled.
"OH MY GOOOOD!! EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE TODAY!!" Papyrus complained, stomping out of the room, as Sans and Frisk were in fits of hysterical laughter.
"heh well alright kid. i'm gonna eat this and then get some sleep. so you can go and do your own thing. i'll call you if i need you. heck, if you're out i might just need to call you from my teleBONE."
"Haha! Are you sure you don't want me to stay? You don't need anything?"
Sans shook his head. "i'll be fine. i'll let you know if i need you or paps for anything."
"O-Oh. Okay! Well, while you're sleeping, I think I might go to Alphys' or something. She's been wanting to invite me over to watch some anime for awhile, but I've been too busy with school work..."
"ok well have fun kiddo."
"Sleep well Sans." Frisk smiled, now getting up and leaving him to rest. Closing the door behind her, she went towards the front door and passed by Papyrus. Taking her coat off a hanger nearby the door, she turned to Papyrus.
"Hey Papyrus! I'm just going to visit Alphys! Sans is just sleeping so it's probably best if you don't disturb him." Frisk said. "Laters!" She called, stepping outside into the cold snow and closing the door behind her.
Sighing, she wrapped her coat around herself and began to make her way to Alphys'. She hoped Sans wouldn't be sick for too long. She felt it would be pretty boring with Sans bedridden for a couple of days. Then again, even when Sans was going through hard times, no matter what it was, he was always smiling. Of course he always had that smile with his mouth, but that's not what she meant. Whenever you looked at his face, you could tell it was a happy expression and when it was a frustrated or angered expression. He always did it with his eyes.

"What do you want, punk?!" The first person to greet Frisk when she got to Alphys' door, was Undyne. Frisk managed a small smile.
"U-Uh. Hi Undyne... Is... Is Alphys home?"
"Yeah! She's just upstairs actually. I'll go get her. You can wait here!"
"Okay..." Frisk answered nervously. She did like Undyne, but sometimes she couldn't tell if Undyne was really friends with her or not. Then again, her being tough and harsh was just her personality. Still, it was still gonna take some getting used to...
"O-Oh! H-Hi Frisk! A-Are you here to w-watch anime with me?" Alphys wondered, coming to the front door in one of her spotty black dresses. Frisk smiled, seeing she was just as bubbly as ever.
"Yeah, I am actually."
"How come you're not hanging out with Sans? Where is he?" Undyne demanded. Frisk scratched the back of her head.
"U-Uh... Sans is just feeling a little under the weather. I think he caught a cold or something so he's staying at home." Frisk explained.
"O-Oh I see... W-Well, I hope he gets b-better soon... P-Please come in. You must be c-cold out there." Alphys stuttered, allowing Frisk to come inside.
"Thanks!" Frisk beamed. Alphys smiled back and then her eyes widened.
"S-So... What sort of anime do you want to watch...? I-I have animes we could watch on N-Netflix like uhm... Uh, Ouran High School H-Host Club, Death Note, M-Mirai Nikki..."
Before Alphys' went on an anime naming spree, Frisk opened her mouth to speak. "Any anime is fine, Alphys. Your choice. You've watched it more than me, after all."
"A-Are you sure?" Alphys wondered. Frisk nodded.
"Well, while you two are watching anime, I'm gonna be in the kitchen making something to eat. Hey, punk! Do you want anything?"
"Neh. I'm not really hungry. Thanks for offering though." Frisk shrugged.
"O-Okay, well... Follow me. M-My room is t-this way. W-We can watch anime t-there." Alphys said, leading Frisk to her room as Frisk gladly followed.
