You sat on a withered log crying your eyes out, you see, you had just found your boyfriend cheating on you with some girl in your shared car..

It was truly disgusting and the most terrible thing you've ever seen, how could he have done that to you for what all you have done for him?

You didn't know and you ran off deep into the forest without a word. You didn't care if he couldn't find you.

You just wanted to be as far away from him as you could.

These woods were your little getaway, just a quiet place where you could get some alone time or complain to no one about your problems.

Your crying had come to quiet sniffles when you saw a ivory flower bloom out of the ground.

It had come up so suddenly, even you knew flowers didn't grow that fast.

After it, even more started to bloom all around you, almost like a message.

Fireflies flew around you as well, crickets chirped, and other bugs made calming noises.

It was strange to you, and you liked it. It all made a sad smile rise on your face.

You hear a soft chuckle, it startles you as you turn to the voice.

"My, I'm glad to see you smile yet again my child." He stepped out from the bushes, and wow. Let's just say he put flower crowns to the next level.

His coat reached to his hips, his arms behind his back, long sleeves covering them. He had a sweet smile on his face.. He looked kind of familiar..

Almost like a prince? What was he the Prince of nature? It sure seemed that way.

Even if he had a calming aura around him, and a literal tree growing out of his skull, you backed away slightly.

"Oh my, I apologize if I have frightened you. I do not wish to harm you in any way, forgive me if I show any signs of aggression, humans don't usually come this close to me." He said sadly as he sat on the grass, making it glow green before growing taller.

His hands sat in his lap his eyes had finally opened, and they were the most beautiful forest green you've seen.

It was just pools of green with a trees silhouette. Rims of a daisy at the edges.

"N-no I'm sorry t-to.. I didn't know someone was here.. I can go somewhere else.." You were about to stand when a vine wrapped around your wrist.

"No, you do not need to apologise my child. Please stay, and if its not a bother, tell me what has you weeping?"

The vine lets go and goes back into the ground.

You smile sadly and sit next to him, crossing your legs. "It-its my boyfriend.. I found him cheating on me.. With one of the girls I hate."

He nods. "I am very sorry for what he has done to you, human males are quite the.. Hmm.. Well let's just say 'stupid' at times, letting their urges and emotions get the better of them. They tend to act without thinking."

You smile, looks like you finally found a great listener. And someone you could talk to.

"Does this make since to you?"

You nod. "Y-yeah.. Thank you uh.."

"Aspen."

"A-aspen for listening to me and my dumb problems. It feels nice to get all of this off my shoulders."

Aspen smiles. "Anything for you y/n."

"How do you know my name?"

He chuckles. "Well, I'm the prince of the earth, I have to know everyone's names."

You giggle and lean your head on his shoulder making his face flush a pale green.

"I'm glad I found someone as nice as you Aspen, you have no idea how rare that is in this world."

Aspen smiles a closed eye smile, making the butterflies in his vines to glow slightly. "Believe me I know. I have three brothers."

You smile, you wondered if they were anything like him.

"Aspen I have a question."

"And what is that my child?"

"Why do you have antlers and a tree growing out of your head?"

"Well.. It is apart of me, if it grows too much I'd look like a walking willow tree, but.. It hurts if you cut it. Most humans try and search for me to take the flowers growing off of me, and it hurts. But I always forgive them, no matter how much they hurt me."

You look at him sadly and hug him, he was warm and smelled like fresh cut grass, he was shocked but wrapped his arms around you.

You knew you could always rely on the earth element, even if you didn't know him that well, you just had a feeling that you could always trust him.
