The hallway is cold on my bare feet as I creep quietly along the stares. Wishing for my slippers sitting next to the fireplace in my guest bedroom I take another step up. But I can't go back, surely I will be caught. The frozen land outside the moonlight window is icy and not a happy one, easily reflecting the cold I feel in my heart. That is why I must see him! I must see Ciel.

No sooner had this thought left my mind I hear the sultry voice of the one person I was trying to avoid. "Lady Elizabeth? What are you doing up?"

I know before I turn who it will be. "Hello Sebastian." I say, smiling as I ignore his question. His face turns in slight concern, his eyes not leaving mine.

"Shall I escort you to your room." It's not a question, he will take me back and I will not be able to leave again. I nod and he picks me up in his strong arms. With a swirl of coat he turns and strides towards the room I have been occupying in the further most side of the Phantomhive manor.

"Lady, please do not leave your room. Especially not without your slippers." His words only remind me of my cold and I shiver. It does not escape his keen eyes as he speeds up, pressing me to his form.

Silently Sebastian opens my door and sits me on the bed, turning to relive the now cold fire. I slide back on my bed, my mind drooping. I was so close! All I wanted was to see him!

Returning to the side of my bed, Sebastian lifts the covers and tucks me in. "Do you need anything Lady Elizabeth?" He asks bowing.

I role over in bed and close my eyes. "May I have my slippers?" I ask as sleep begins to take over my mind once again. The last thing I hear is the soft laugh of Sebastian as he goes to get my well needed slippers.

"As you wish my lady."
