Chapter Three

Dennis finally came out of the shower and was thankful that Patricia and her lover were gone.

He didn't know how he would have reacted if he saw them again. But he knew it wouldn't be good. He wouldn't have been able to control his anger.

He looked around the room he called his and felt nothing but disgust.

The bedsheets were ruffled up with wet patches here and there. It looked like animals fought on it and technically animals did do something on it. The whole place reeked of sex and sweat and he couldn't bare the sight and smell that reminded him of what occurred there, he hurried to his wardrobe and looked through his clothes. He decided on a black  jeans trouser, white V-neck shirt and black vans.

He hurried out of the room and locked the door behind him. If someone saw him they'd think he was being chased out the room by a ghost. He went into a guest room and got dressed.

He made his way to the living room and took his car keys and wallet before rushing out.

The whole house was suffocating him with memories of his wife and he couldn't bear it. He got into his car and drove away but not before informing his gateman to never let Patricia into the house.

Minutes later, he arrived at a very popular club at awolowo road called 'Club 57'

It was a two storey white painted building decorated with neon lights and beautifully treamed flowers from the outside.

The name was written in cursives on a very fancy board that's hanged at the entrance.

There were two bouncers at the door that judged the appearance and car of a person before letting them into the building. Dennis shook his head at that.

It is only in this country that people judged a book by it's cover. He thought

He walked towards them and within a minute a beautiful fair skinned girl with pink braids hooked her arms around his biceps.

"What do you think you are doing?" dennis looked her with an irritated look and growled out.

"I'm so sorry for grabbing you without asking sir, but I need to go in, but the bouncers won't let me" He looked at her with a glare not quite understanding what she was implying.

She noticed the look he was giving her and continued.

"Maybe i-if you told them i-i-i'm your d-d-date they'll let me in" she stuttered out, and gave him a pleading look.

He rubbed his forehead with his fingers and sighed. He had so much on his plate and the girl was just irritating him.

He matched forward with the girl latched onto his arms, struggling to keep up with his quick steps.

She nearly fell with her heels but he helped steadied her.

He wondered why girls liked putting on the shoes when they always stumbled or worse fell in them. Which guy even wished for his woman to be taller than him?

In his opinion girls should stick to their flat shoe and show off their short heights, rather than wearing heels that made their steps unsteady and pained their legs at the end of the day.

They got passed the bouncers and into the club. Music was blasting through the speakers, as the DJ worked his magic on the stage, the dance floor was occupied by numerous people dancing, making out and just having fun. Dennis envied their carefree attitude as he watched the people around. The seats were occupied by some and the bar was also crowded. But wasn't half as bad as the weekends.

He made his way to the bar, with the girl still latched unto his arms, he turned to her with a glare as she stared up at him with this big innocent eyes.

Just like how Patricia stared at him when they first met.

The thought left him bitter and he directed it towards the girl.

"You asked for me to help you in and I did,now what else do you want?" He glared at her with emotionless eyes.

"Well I was waiting for you to acknowledge me so I can thank you" she sweetly smiled.

"Well I did now bye!" He turned his back to her and ordered himself a bottle of Hennessey.

He came here to forget all his hurt and memories that kept causing him pain and he was not about to let some girl steal the little peace he had left.

He paid with his card and opened the bottle, drinking straight from it.

He grimmaced immediately the burning  liquid went down his throat. He has always hated drinking but tonight was an exception,he planned to throw away his dislike for alcohol and drink away his feelings and memories.

He had to forget and this was the only way he knows how. It was the only remedy that didn't involve hunting down Patricia and her lover to wreck them.

He took another swing at the bottle and the burning eased his pain a little.

"Looks like Someone had a bad day" the girl chuckled and sat beside him.

"Why are you still here?" He groaned

"Well first you are being rude, also I want to have a drink" she answered and ordered a cocktail.

"Since when has wanting your personal space become rude?" He slurred.

He had finished half the bottle by now and was beginning to feel the effect of the alcohol in his system.

"I get the feeling that you are not usually like this" the girl stated and took a sip of her drink.

"You felt wrong" He said

"You looked really hurt and angry when I saw you outside, and you still do...mind sharing what happened?" She persisted

An image of his wife on the bed with her lover flashed in his mind and his hold on the bottle tightened.

He brought it up to his lips and took a huge gulp.

"If you take another swing from that bottle you won't be able to make it to your house tonight" she said softly.

The girls behaviour really confused him. First she was desperate, then she became all innocent like then friendly. She reminded him of the one person he wanted to stop thinking about and even her looks were not helping.

She behaved exactly how his wife used to behave when they first started dating.

He needed to get away from her and that was exactly what he did, except it didn't quite go his way.

When he got down from the bar stool his legs got wobbly and he nearly fell down but he steadied himself and started drunkenly stagaring and hitting people on his way out.

He made it out and headed for his car. He opened the door and was about to get in when he got stopped by a tiny hand that wrapped around his arm.

He turned around to see the familiar pink hair.

"Why did you follow me this time around? I suppose it's not so I can get you into the club now is it?" He angrily asked.

Her presence was annoying him. She was behaving as though they were friends and that irked him.

"No, it's so I can get you to your house safely. You are in no condition to drive" He glared at her heatedly and shoved her hands away from his arm.

"First of all i hate when people touch me without permission...and if you think that you can use that excuse to lure yourself into my home then you are strongly mistaken. I tolerated you all this while because I didn't have the energy to waste on you. Now go back to wherever you came from and let me be!" He said in a sparingly calm face. She visibly shivered and stepped back.

He opened his car door and got inside leaving the girl staring at him with shock and hurt, her eyes were brimmed with unshed tears which made them to sparkle as the light reflected in them.

The moon shone on her chocolate skin  making it to shine and give off a beautiful glow. Her pink plump lips were caught between her teeth, something he caught her doing multiple times tonight.

A car passed by shinninig it's headline in her direction. She raised her hands and used them to shield her deep brown eyes. She had a small pencil nose and a small body statue with curves that complimented her.

He felt himself getting entranced by her beauty the more he stared at her, but he blocked out the feeling and looked at her one more time. He felt himself sober up as he revved up his engine and drove away.
