Dennis felt tears roll down his cheeks and humorlessly laughed.

He laughed at his stupid heart and how pathetic he felt.

How could he still feel pain and even shed tears for Patricia after all she had done to him.

He thought his stupid heart had gone cold towards her but seeing that picture resurfaced all the hurt he buried deep in his heart.

He used the back of his left hand to wipe off his tears, like a switch has been turned on in his brain a huge grin appeared on his face.

He took his cell phone and dialed a number he hasn't even looked at for a long time but knows the owner will not only make him smile but also take his mind off his problems and worries.

"Are you sleep walking? Did you get into an accident? Is someone dead?" Daniel asked in a surprised yet frantic voice.

He shook his head at his friends antics, a sincere smile visible on his face.

"No, no and no. Can't I just call you to say hello?" Dennis replied

"You and I both know that's a lie! You blocked me for a whole mouth!" Daniel yelled over the phone.

Dennis felt a laugh bubling inside him and he tried to control it but after hearing daniels last words it ripped right out of his mouth.

He laughed heartily remembering the day he blocked daniels number.

It was a blissful saturday and Dennis got a call from his mom to come over with patricia to spend time with them.

They were at the dinning table along with his brother Steven having lunch and chatting about his brothers school and sharing experiences.

"I hope you are not allowing all those girls to distract you?" Dennis asked as he took a spoonful of the jollof rice and chicken before him.

"I'm more worried about the girls. Hope you are not deceiving someone's daughter" Patricia said causing a laugh to erupt in the dinning room.

"You both know I'm not that type nah" Steven said with a smirk on his face

"Your mouth is saying something else and your face is showing something else" Patricia pointed out.

"You are right about that. I seriously pity the girls" their mom chipped in.

Steven shook his head at them. "What's the essence of asking me when you won't believe my answer?" Steven asked with a grumpy look.

"So we will get our answers which is the opposite of what you say since you are a great liar" Dennis replied and laughed at his brothers expression.

"Stop teasing my last born" Dennis's mom warned in a playful voice

"Who said he is the last born?" Mr.Adebayo asked with a grin, a blush spread on Mrs. Adebayo's face as she glared at her husband.

Dennis, Patricia and steven stared at the parents with a look of disbelieve.

"You do know you are OLD right?" Steven stressed on the old as he looked at his parents.

Dennis's phone rang at that moment and all eyes turned to him. He smiled as he saw the caller ID.

"Howfa" dennis greeted Daniel. His mom glared at him for picking the phone while eating.

"I'm not okay! I just met this really hot girl and man I'm confused. I don't know how to approach her!" Daniel whined.

Dennis sighed as he listened to Daniel. Daniel might be a man with his own company but he was a kid at heart. Dennis sometimes wondered how they ended up being friends.

Maybe it was Daniels brain that brought them together.

"I don't know either" Dennis replied

"You should, you are married for goodness sake!" Daniel snorted

"Exactly! I'm married to the only woman I know how to approach" Dennis smirked.

He could feel the annoyance in Daniels voice when he sighed.

"You are the worst!" Daniel replied and hanged up.

Dennis dropped his phone and continued eating his food. Savouring the taste of the rice. With each spoon he brings to his mouth he felt and explosion of flavours.

He brought a glass a water and took a sip when his phone rang again.

"Yes" Dennis answered

"So...what's the best sex position you've ever tried?" Daniel asked

Dennis opened and closed his mouth for over a minute before hanging up.

"Lemme guess...Daniel?" His dad asked with a smile

"Yes, how did we become friends again?" Dennis directed the question to his mom.

"He is my bests friends son and you were a dummy do you need his help with school work" Mrs adebayo said causing laughter to erupt in the table while Dennis had a scowl set on his face.

He grumbled as he took a spoon full of rice. His phone rang again and he ignored.

He ignored the seventh ring when Patricia gave him a pointed look. He signed just as the eight ring when off, and picked the call.

"Yes" he mumbled in irritation

"Stop ignoring me that was a very important question" Daniel whined

"No its not! I'll not be the one to be blamed for giving you bad advice when you impregnant someone" Dennis replied

"I'll use a condom" Daniel replied and that was the last straw for dennis.

He hanged up the phone and without thinking blocked Daniel knowing fully well he will call him back.

"I had too, you were irritating me" Dennis smiled

"I was asking for advice from a friend! How is that wrong?" Daniel snorted

"It is on so many levels but I didn't call to talk about that"

"Okay, why did you call?" Daniel asked enthusiastically

"I want to go drinking today and I'm wondering if you want to join me" Dennis replied

"Sure thing! Wait...since when do you drink?" Daniel asked in a suspicious voice. He has known Dennis since they were kids and as they grew older he dragged Dennis to parties and social gatherings and yet he had never seen him take a sip of alcohol.

"I'll tell you when we we meet up. Club. 57 8:00pm. Don't be late" Dennis warned in a playful voice knowing Daniel had no sense of time wgen it came to their outings.

Now that he thought about it he felt Daniels Purposefully late to their outside because he is known to be a punctual businessman.

"I won't. See you then man" Daniel laughed and hanged up.

Dennis places his phone on his desk and packed up the pictures spread on his desk.

He put them back into the envelop and placed it in his drawer.

"I can't believe this!" Daniel exclaimed

"I also didn't at first" Dennis sighed and took a gulp of his drink.

"You know if you someone else has told me this I would have beaten the hell out of them" Daniel slurred

Dennis laughed at his friend who was already drunk off his ass. He knew that Daniel meant what he said even though he was drunk.

"Yes and you would have called me when you get arrested" Dennis laughed heartily

"And you would have let me suffer in the cell for a day before bailing me out" Daniel snorted and Dennis laughed knowing it was true.

He would have definitely left Daniel in the prison to first learn his lesson or at least he a snack for the mosquitoes before bailing him.

Dennis looked around the restaurant and bar they were at. The place looked almost full. With people eating and drinking.

They were seated at a table for two. It was covered with a red coloured table clothes designed with fruits.

A group of three girls seated at the far right corner of the bar with cool drinks before them. He saw a familiar face and quickly averted his eyes.

"Someone caught your eyes?" Daniel wiggled his eyebrows

"I don't know what you're talking about" Dennis denied

"I'm talking about the pink haired girl staring at you" Daniel said and watches as Dennis glanced at the girl.

"Isn't it your time to go home?" Dennis groaned

"Nope but it's time to dump you for some ladies" he grinned as he looked at the girls sitting with Flora

"I bought you here to listen to my rant not ditch me for girls" Dennis glared

"Okayyy" Daniel drawled
