1: Running Away
Drishti Sood
"Meine pehle hi warn kia tha" I tossed my hair in attitude while setting my bridal look and trying a few poses in front of the mirror.
"Tumhein bhagne se pehle itne nakhre krne zaruri hain kya?" Divya said, looking out of the window as I wrote my elopement letter.
"Kya likhu? Meri zindagi meri apni shakal mat dikhana. Agar sharam hai to sir necha kr ke mehmano ko bata dena mein bhag gai. Ya phir- bhad mein jao sab!" Tapping the pen impatiently on my pouted lips, I thought about the contents of the letter.
"Drishti please, be serious. Ek to tumhe bhagne se acha koi option bhi to nahi mila" She said. First of all the idea was all hers. She went to some local goons and paid them advance to kidnap me from my wedding and take us safely to Delhi so that I could take a flight out of the country and stay low key till things got well.
Hi, this is Drishti Sood. The loved daughter of my parents who died a few years back leaving an evil bhua to dance on my head.
Normally she never treated me like a child- not even a girl but somehow I adjusted. Knowing that the property would be soon in my name. Now what she did was finding me a groom who happened to be after me for two years.
So here I was, running for my dear life.
"Jaldi neeche utro" Divya pulled me towards the window after I was done with drawing a middle finger on the wall and writing shit about the groom.
"Aur log kehte hain mujhmein talent nahi" I smirked.
A tight slap landed behind my ears making me feel numb "Meri ma utar ja! Niche Lavanya wait kar rahi hai hamara"
"Ja rahi hun" I frowned before picking my lehngha up and sitting on the railing.
"Nobody loves me" I sighed and turned to find the ladder. Filling thrilled right?
Turning my face opposite to the ladder, I started getting down carefully when the lights of the room in front of me. As I was not ready for that I was about to scream because of the loss of contact between my hands and the ladder.
Before I could fall I was caught by Lavanya who had predicted it was about to happen.
"Sabse pehle chalne sikhna" she glared at me and helped me get down. "Divya" she whisper yelled for Divya to come down too.
Till she comes- here is who they are. We've been best buddies since childhood and were inseparable ever since. Divya and Lavanya were the only people who had the strength to listen to my pointless talks, my assumptions and handle all my acts.
Divya's dad was an alcoholic who left her mom when she was little. Her mom also left in anger leaving her alone. We were in school together and that was when she started staying with us.
Lavanya's mom died giving her birth and had daddy issues now because her dad shifted to London leaving her with us. We were family friends. Though her dad paid her the money she needed his prescence but he couldn't be there.
We met at the same time so it was like we were sisters. The best part-
"Drishti chal nahi to pakre jaenge!" Lavanya pulled me towards the back gate where two men were already standing.
"Lavanya hum pakre jaenge" I stopped walking and looked at Divya's face because she punched me. "Ab ye kis khushi mein?"
"Kyuki meine age hi tujhe bataya tha ki pichle gate pe hume vo gunde milenge" I bit my tongue in nervousness and started laughing nervously,
Which they didn't like.
"Drishti shut up!" Divya would have surely beaten the shit out of me if not for Lavanya's heroic attempt to save me that resulted in her getting the punch instead of me.
Nice
"Oh god, ab tumhare gunde kaha hain?" I jumped impatiently at my place and looked here and there to find any sign of a person who could be a thug but couldn't find any.
"Stay here. Agar yahan se hili to sidhe mandap mein le ke jaungi" Divya warned me. Taking Lavanya's hand she walked out of the back gate and went to search for them.
"Can you at least bring me something to eat?" My innocent request was replied by hard glare "nevermind"
The girls left me alone near the back gate expecting me to wait for them like a patient person which I chose not to be. I smiled mischievously when they left and minutes later picked the lehngha up to my knees and checked my heels.
Wearing them wasn't a good option but still!
If I was running away- I had every right to look beautiful and in these hells I felt beautiful.
Roaming around the lonely street I filled my mouth with air and started gargling it for killing the time. As I walked towards a wall to check the designs I etched a few days ago, I felt a prescence around me.
I turned at an instant and watched the silhouette of a man standing behind a pole making it horror movie edition. The air in my mouth was forced out of fear as I prepared my heels to run.
The man behind the pole started walking towards me as I started backing off. This moment was perfect for screaming but since I was already running away so a big no.
"Oh no" I exclaimed.
My body was a big betrayer so it stopped functioning properly and I was stuck at a certain point till the man came in front of me. The street light revealed his devilishly handsome face which was enough for him but he didn't stop there. There was a tattoo running along the right side of his neck that added to his charms.
And he didn't stop there. Dressed in all black with a white handkerchief tied around his hand, he screamed danger.
He looked the kind of guy mothers would hide their children from and men would avoid arguing with. The kind of guy any girl would want but her family wouldn't allow.
That was what his looks said.
"Hi!" Offering him a wide toothed smile I tried leaving but he grabbed my hands and started tying a rope around them. "Hey!"
"Chup!" his voice was- deep I guess. Fear of the unknown man got the best of me and I got ready to scream when he finished tying my hands.
"Hel-" my mouth was closed with a piece of cloth being tied around it. The sharpness of the strong tie cutting the corners of my mouth and hands restricted of any moment made me realize I shouldn't have left the spot.
He pulled me to his chest and looked into my eyes which were filled with tears by now.
"Tum mere sath aa rahi ho" he said and threw me over his shoulder while I tried resisting by moving my legs vigorously but everything seemed to fail in front of his strength.
I wanted to run away but not like this.
Oh an arm tattoo! Hot!
Had this in my drafts since 3 months. One more is written which will be published on 15. Then after 17 regular updates.
Just 7 days left! Am soo happy.
