MotherChild Encounter
The heat and pain was so overwhelming to your previously numb body that you felt as if you could collapse to the floor. The golden beams nearly looked like flames, flickering and licking at the skin, reaching for the tender body below the shimmering dragon. He was still beaming as he saw the crippled soul nearly splitting into pieces, trembling to the warmth and loss of Health Points. "You are such an IDIOT! AHAHAHA!"
Suddenly, a different type of golden light appeared, sweeping through the whole room and illuminating the muddy surface and walls. You ducked, covering your eyes from the overwhelming light, hearing the dragon yelp and stumble away.
"My child! Are you alright?" A worrying voice announced, echoing through the cavern.
You reluctantly uncovered your eyes, readjusting your sight to see an elderly woman. Her body was stalky and straight, her hand extended to meet yours. She wore small dainty lenses, balanced perfectly on her wrinkled face. She held a leather pack which seemed to be filled with some sort of papers or scrolls.
"I am Misako, caretaker of the ruins." She paused, grasping your shoulder and hoisting you up. "And we should not be here."
You were too tired to reply or ask questions on specifically why this was, glancing around the room to see it was much brighter now. It felt warm and dry, feeling finally safe now that you were in the arms of a mysterious caretaker. You could now see vines that crept along the sides of the wall, reaching for the darkness. Their leaves were dark and brown, bending to the ground as they gently drifted to the floor.
On the other side of the room was a door. It was the biggest door you have ever actually encountered. It was lined with brass edges and hems, painted with a glossy plum purple, and topped off with a white emblem that was divided on both sides. Misako then lead you to said door.
"Come." Was all she said to you, pushing the door open as it creaked in a low voice, as if it too, could feel the heat quickly escaping the room. You shivered at the sudden coldness, holder tighter to Misako.
A large lever hung above your height on the wall, shining against the new light that entered the room. On the floor in front of you were concrete pressure plates that were laid equally amongst each other on the dusty floor. You looked up at Misako, puzzled. (I do not apologize)
"In order to survive in The Ruins, you must learn how to navigate these ancient puzzles, previously laid down many years ago by the ultimate spinjitzu master. Before time had a name, this was his home. Now it is my dwelling." She looked saddened, almost hurt at what she had just said. "It is helpful if you read these signs." Misako pointed toward a sign that was nailed above another large door. This one looked stiff and was latched with a lock.
You watched Misako begins to strategically step on several stones in an order.
Left, right, right, left.
The latch clicked, the door slamming downwards into the ground with a roar. Misako turned to you, pleased that you were watching. You forced a smile back, wrapping your hands around yourself and shivering.
"Give me a second." Misako began to take off a small shawl she had draped on her back, wrapping it around you. She then pulled out a small biscuit and offered it to you. Grudgingly taking it, you take a bite out of it.
+10 HEALTH
She offered a warm smile to you as she stood in the new, gaping doorway, waiting for you to continue.
