❤️Chapter 3: The Speech❤️
SansPOV
The door slowly creaked open to see a kind goat woman, the queen of the Underground. Remembering her title, I got down on one knee as bowed my head in respect, getting a giggle as a response. "Aww, it is okay, my child. You do not need to show me that much respect. It is fine to treat just as another old little lady who seems to have no intrests but snails and old puns."
"It is an honor to finally meet you, your majesty, and I mean that all the way down to my bones." The goat let out another snort, as she gave Mabel a hug, welcoming the girl back. "Come, I welcome you to the ruins! Mabel, my child, you seem to be in distress. What is happening? Where is your brother-"
"I managed to break the barrier without a human soul, and if we can kill this inter-dimensional being, we can get everyone Chara killed. I thought we should come to you since you had lots of monsters here.."
"I... Um... Well, that is up to them if they want to fight or not.... But you can try to persuade them... Afterall, you surely have done so with me."
Toriel let out another giggle as she invited us in, and as soon as I stepped through the door, a wave of heat washed over me. It wasn't to the point where I needed to take off my hoodie, but compared to what I was used to, it was a giant change in tempature. I saw Mabel had sighed beside me, stomping the snow off of her feet before walking any further, and I repeated her actions. As I followed the she-goat, I wondered, why didn't Asgore keep such a kind and heartfelt like Toriel? If I was king, I'd keep her for sure-
Gah! What am I saying? My heart goes to Mabel, and the king knows what's right! If he saw that Toriel wouldn't help him rule the land, then he knows what he's doing.
Toriel led us to a small yard, where a tall oak sat in front of a small cottage, Asgore's favorite golden flowers scattered around it. Instead of inviting us in, she passed the house, where the entrance to the ruins lay. A Froggit sat talking with a Whimsun, but his attention focused on the queen as we approached her. "Ribbit (Greetings, your Majesty. What seems ti be the problem? I've met the human before, but who is the skeleton? I have never seen him in the Ruins before,)"
"This is Sans, and you remember Mabel, don't you? She's broken the barrier, and now she needs everyone's help. Please, Froggit, Whimsun, will you help us?"
The monsters stared at us as they were thinking about their desicion, more monsters from the Ruins gathering around them. Soon, they turned away from us, and started muttering in smaller conversations among themselves. It wasn't good comments either. I could hear "Why should we get caught in another mess?" and, "Should we trust the human? After all, her brother is a killing machine-"
"STOP!" Everyone jumped and looked up to see Mabel, who was standing on a rock, so everyone could see her. Just like Papy...
"Monsters of the Ruins! And Sans," We both let out a chuckle before she continued.
"I know you hate my brother. And I know he's made a pretty bad reputation down here. But please, the world is at stake, and once Bill takes over the surface, he'll get to you guys too! We have to do something! He's already turning humans to stone, and once they're all gone, he's won! We can't let him get that far! Please... With Bill's soul, we could bring back EVERYONE that my brother killed. I'll make this up for you, I promise, but please... Help me..."
The monsters began chatting amongst themselves once more as they saw Mabel on the verge of getting upset. I saw something I had never seen before in Mabel: She had lost hope. Mabel got down, and grabbed my hand as she started to walk away. I knew this was a bad idea... Let's just go home Sans... I'm sorry I failed you-"
"(Ribbit) Wait..." A Froggit hopped in front of Mabel, determination glinting it's eyes. I flinched at the word. D E T E R M I N A T I O N. It's what every dirty brother killer is filled with. Chara does it. She persuades them to take that path, and then, it turns into slaughtering, and no one is left.
"If you can bring everyone back, then we trust you. We'll help you."
"Thank you so much!" Mabel's face instantly lit up, and she picked the Foggit, squeezing it in a tight hug. I chuckled as Papyrus popped into my mind. Don't worry bro... We'll save ya...
